    Mr. Handyman of Greater Savannah
    Run, run as far away as you can form Mr. Handyman. They are a very poorly and unethically run company...issues with scheduling, issues with invoice, issues with the fact they had three handymen come to my house and they had to fire 2 of the 3 of them before they finished the job. To be fair the 3rd person did a good job. Would NOT hire again.

    It did not go well. Two painters arrived at 10:30 promised but said they had to go get some paint (since they knew beforehand what paint would be needed I don't know why they didn't get it prior to their arrival). They said they would be back in hour but instead I waited all day until one painter came back around 4 p.m.. He stayed less than an hour and only worked on the small projects. He returned the next day, and finished everything (the ceiling and the odd jobs) by about 4:15 p.m. I wasn't satisfied with the job he did on the woodwork so he stayed awhile longer to try to address my concerns. I was charged an additional $190 for the odd jobs plus the painter hit me up for $26 for a quart of paint he purchased. I have no idea how the $190 figure was calculated and was not given a receipt or an explanation. Thus, the total cost for what was really just one day's work by one painter was over $1400. Moreover, the next day I noticed that a seam was still visible where he had taken a piece of the ceiling's drywall out to ensure there was no lingering mold or dampness. Certa Pro's response was that this is a common problem when a piece of the ceiling is removed and that there really wasn't anything they could do about it. I can't help but wonder if the ceiling would have come out better if the painter taken the two days I was told would be needed to do the job.

    We had never undertaken a renovation project like this, so the most important thing to us, other than finding someone who would do excellent work, was finding a contractor we could trust. From my first phone call with Rickey Greer (who personally answered every call and almost never missed a single call or text), I knew we were dealing with a pro who would be completely straight with us about all aspects of the project. To be honest, I probably wasn't the easiest customer RNR ever worked with! I'm a bit of a control freak and wanted to be able to handle all of the purchasing of materials, from cabinets and flooring to tile and fixtures -- everything. Seeing that we were trying to do a major renovation on a tight budget, Rickey was willing to give up the mark-up that contractors typically expect on materials so that we could afford to do the project at all. But as far as the quality of the work, there was no cutting corners! Rickey, his partner Will Hudson, and their entire team are the biggest group of perfectionists I've ever met. That meant they were always willing to work with me to be sure every aspect of the renovation was exactly what I wanted. The quality of the craftsmanship was simply exceptional, from carpentry and painting to plumbing and electrical. No matter who was in my house, I was confident in the skills, expertise and professionalism they brought to the job -- and it shows. The house looks absolutely amazing (see before and after photos attached). You don't spend two months working with a team of people without getting to know them beyond the typical, day-to-day small talk. A reno project like ours meant daily contact with the guys from RNR, often followed up with chatty phone calls with Rickey in the evening to plan for the next day or week. We had the pleasure to discover that Rickey and Will -- as well as Rickey's dad, electrician Rick Greer, are some of the best people we've met in Savannah. These guys have big personalities and sarcastic senses of humor that keep you entertained, and their attitude is, once you're a customer, you're part of their extended family. They went above and beyond to make sure we were completely satisfied with our renovated home, but more than that, to bring fresh peaches, give us advice about finding our way around town, and generally offer friendship and support. (The other day, I found myself at a traffic light next to Marvin, our master carpenter. We chatted till the light turned green. I miss those guys!) It's not like we didn't have issues or hit snags along the way. This was a huge project, there were delays (my fault, mostly, because of the time it took to get the cabinets I bought online), and as my husband likes to tell people, "I gave her an unlimited renovation budget and she managed to surpass it." But our budget overage was essentially a product of our inexperience and the desire to make upgrades along the way. As for RNR, they gave us a price, we signed a contract, and that's exactly what we paid, to the penny. Funny enough, the best illustration I can give of RNR's extraordinary customer service isn't our renovation, but Rickey's response to Hurricane Matthew. As a Facebook friend of Rickey's, I was able to join in on his Facebook live-tour of the city on Oct. 8 as he drove from home to home, checking to be sure his customer's residences made it through okay. His reassurances to customers/friends who had evacuated revealed a heart of gold and a willingness to extend himself for others. Be warned: The guys from RNR are a couple of good ole boys and Rickey's got a colorful vocabulary. But they're two of the hardest working people you'll ever meet and they'll give you everything they've got. Looking forward to working with them again!

     I could not be more happy or satisfied with the remodel of my master bath.    The finished space is absolutely beautiful and i owe it all to Dietra Nickerson!  She takes such pride in everything she does and i would not hesitate to hire her again.   The work consisted of removing the old shower stall, tile, wall, moldings, and part of the ceiling.  This was no small chore as the tile had been installed using outdated methods and was incredibly tedious and difficult to remove.  Dietra, however, (undaunted by this discovery) tenaciously persevered until every last bit of that old, ugly tile was ripped out of there!   Ripped out and carried downstairs and out to the dumpster!   Dietra did all this work by herself.  When you hire Dietra, you get Dietra.  Not someone Dietra has hired on for the job.  I like that!  So, after she took the bathroom down to the studs and the deconstruct was complete then the "magic" started to happen because Dietra is Dietramazing!  She truly loves her craft and this is demonstrated by the finished project.   From the well thought out and well placed tile, on the floor and walls,  to the perfectly mitered baseboard and crown molding, to the beautifully painted walls, my master bath is extraordinarily beautiful!  Thanks, Dietra Nickerson, for another beautiful room in my home.

    Mr. Cothren and his team did a great job. You could tell they really take pride in their work. They painted a home we were renting during the span we were making our cross-country move. He accommodated our schedule and fit the work in such that the house was ready when we arrived. He even did a bit extra over what we had contract for for the same price.

    Tony, Cody and Simon were awesome! They were on time, efficient, neat and very respectful of our home while completing this job. A wall had to be removed, plumbing moved which involved jack hammering into the cement foundation, moving and rewiring the room to accommodate washer, dryer and sink, sheet rock work to repair remaining walls, and finishing up with an awesome paint job and beautiful woodwork and tile floor. This company is worth every dime we spent, and we would be more than happy to have them back should we ever need work done in our home again. They were not the lowest estimate we received, nor were they the highest. The fact that they came when promised, finished when promised and left my house clean and a new room ready to use made them the smartest estimate of the 4 estimates we procured for the job. They were the most honest about the scope of the work that would have to be done, and there were no surprises. Our biggest thanks goes to Tony, who managed the job and did most of the work himself. We are thrilled with the result!

    We had sheetrock and ceiling water damage from a roof leak. Alex and Brothers gave an estimate, set up a date to do the work, followed through and completed the job. We were very pleased with the work and would certainly use them again and highly recommend them.

    They responded very quickly to my request for work and were at the house within a couple days to give an estimate. The estimate was pretty much what I was expecting, so I went ahead and scheduled for the work to be completed in two weeks. During that wait time, it was  very difficult to get in touch with them. I believe they lost a cell phone, but it was frustrating to not have phone calls and emails returned. I did get a phone call the day before the scheduled work day saying that they would be here in the morning. The work was completed on schedule. They had to patch some drywall and baseboards. The drywall looks great, but the baseboard work is so-so. It is very obvious where they patched the baseboards. They also had to touch up paint on the new drywall. The paint cut in area around the door is not a straight line at all. It's on the side of the door that you don't really see, but it could have been done better. Overall, I'd give the work a B. About the payment process. On Angie's list, it stated that they took VISA. When I went to pay with my credit card, I was told that they do not take credit cards anymore, so I paid with a check. That afternoon I spoke to my husband about it and was informed that my husband had spoken to him the day the work was started and Horton confirmed that they DID take credit cards. I find it hard to believe that the policy changed in three days, but if that was the case, we should have been informed before payment was due. It was frustrating to have each spouse told something completely different. Looking back, I should have called Horton as soon as I learned what he told my husband, but at that point I just wanted to be finished with it.

    I was initially pleased with the response time to schedule an appointment. The contractor called within an hour of emailing him. My brother and I flew to Savannah (we reside in Houston) this past weekend in part to meet with contractors on Jan 17th regarding some general remodeling to my mother's home. I attempted to call the contractor both an hour before and 20 minutes before our scheduled appointment to make sure he was still coming. The calls went unanswered. The contractor did not show up. Not sure what happened (maybe an emergency???), but needless to say, he won't be the contractor chosen for the job.
