    TOMMY CHAMBLISS CONSTRUCTION
From the first answering of their phone, we were met with courtesy and professionalism. Prompt service and reasonably priced. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone needing a septic tank pumped. I would not even consider using another company in the future.

The first visit on 7/1 failed; the leak was greater after the work, not reduced. I paid $215 for parts and labor. I was advised that the brass valve body behind the one-piece rotary handle would have to be replaced because of corrosion (13 years old, seldom used). I was subsequently quoted $695 for parts and labor, including cutting thru sheetrock in the garage behind the bathroom to reach the brass valve body for replacement. I scheduled the service for 7/21, but before that I visited Ferguson Plumbing Supply for advice. They suggested that brass bodies hardly ever failed & that the problem might be the complexity of the two Kohler kits to make a replacement between the handle and the brass body. They showed me the two kits & pointed out that they were complex, mostly because of all the 0-rings; they said plumbers didn't like Kohler because of this, and mostly dealt with simple, one-piece Moen and Delta repair kits. In fact, during the first, failed repair, only one of the two Kohler kits had been replaced. I paid Ferguson $81 for the parts. Then I called Ace and changed the scope of the scheduled repair to not include the brass valve body. On 7/21 both of the Delta repair kits were installed, and then the leak stopped. The charge from Ace was another $143 for labor. So my total - including the botched first repair - was $439 versus the $910 I would have paid in total to Ace had I followed their advice and replaced the brass valve body. Had the two kits been replaced as part of the first visit and fixed the leak then, I would have paid only $224.

Royal Flush Septic Tank Pumping Co

I contacted Royal Flush due to the reviews here on Angie's List.  I called and made an appointment and Mike was here on time.  I explained that the yard had just been sodded last summer and could he please keep that in mind when digging.  I wasn't expecting a lot on that because he had to dig and locate the tank.  While Mike was in the process of pumping the tank I stepped outside as I also had gutters being put on the house and they were just finishing.  OMG!   Whatever the cost it was more than worth it.  The odor was the most horrendous thing I have ever smelled.  I know it's my husband and I <0:(   but goodness!!

Mike was in and out very quickly, he placed all the dirt back as well as the sod.  It was almost like he had never been there. He explained about the septic tank and field lines and how they work as well as proper care and maintenance.  I never thought a septic tank needed to be pumped every 3 years, but he gave the analogy that a septic tank is like a car.  You have to get the oil changed, rotate the tires, etc. to ensure general care so it runs smoothly.  That really made sense to me.  I asked about rid X and he said they just recommend buttermilk!!  Let it sit out a day or two and spoil and flush it.  (I thought buttermilk was already spoiled lol).  Thanks Mike.  We will definitely refer others to you and will see you in 3 years.

    RANDY PRATHER BUILDING & REMODEL
Roger was the one who put the cabinets in and he was wonderful...he was punctual it was the cabinets were not.  The cabinets are honey maple with special cutting and finishes requested.  We did get everything we asked for.  Evidently the problem , which we were unaware of for a few weeks, was that with the special finishes and cutting we requested the person who does this was backed up on his work and if I understood correctly it required a certain type of blade.  This put a 1-2 weeks delay on the installation of the cabinets.  Noting could progress until the cabinets were in.  The backsplash, granite, sinks, etc. could not be put in until the cabinets were in, which put a hold on all of the rest of the contract workers.  At the time it was a mess to have only one working sink...in the kitchen and none in the bathrooms.  With that said I have posted pictures under Affordable Handyman, Jason Kilgore, of the finished product.  The quality, finish and look is unbelievably beautiful.  Their work is outstanding and even with the delays I would definitely use them again.  My husband look at them all the time and say "we have the best looking cabinets in Columbus, Georgia.  For fun we go to open houses and even the high end ones $500,000 and up do not have cabinets that can compare to ours. So thank you for what we consider art work.  If I can figure out how to do it again I will post pictures on their website here on Angie's list.

It was very easy to get them to come out.  I like that they offered suggestions and didn't push services that weren't needed.  They actually tried to help the problem.  They were very honest.

American Leak Detection - Southern Alabama
The tech arrived on time and had called ahead first.  He was friendly and got right down to business.  The process was very thorough; I felt like though the cost was a hit to my pocketbook ($350. is, after all, three hundred and fifty dollars!), I got a decent value for the money spent.  The guy pressure-checked the system, used dye, and checked every inch of the vinyl pool liner by getting into the pool with scuba gear.  He also used sensitive sound-detection gear to listen for the sound of the moving water.  The leak was pinpointed and well marked, and he explained what he'd found.

    Affordable Handyman Service
First , I want to truly thank Jason, who is the actual "Affordable Handyman" and his crew Darryl, Ben, Charles, Collin, and Jonathan (I'm sorry if I spelled any names wrong).  I started off by getting bids from several reputable contractors.  Even at $52,000 Jason was the least expensive and did an outstanding job.  We were fortunate enough to be able to use Kohler, Delta and/or  Moen, fixtures, which of course added to the cost rapidly.  Jason recommended the sub contractors (cabinets, granite, seamless shower door, etc.). When they were through with their part I would write a check directly to them.  Jason's costs were labor and materials.  Each week on Friday he brought all receipts for materials to me and I would pay him.  This was for things like caulk, paint, plumbing materials, and door knobs).  He collected his other money in three separate draws, with the last being when the job was completed.  I liked the way he handled this because he knew his reputation was on the line. Jason was excellent at running into town to Home Depot or Lowes to get things that were needed, which was about 20 miles one way. . I think this was partly because that's just how Jason is and partly because he knew my husband and myself are not in the best of health and it would have taken a lot out of us to be running into town all the time. After all, this was what I considered to be a big job as three bathrooms and the kitchen were gutted.  He gave me a timeline of four weeks, but I kept adding things for him to do and so all total was six weeks, which was still pretty amazing.  Also, the cabinet doors were on back order, which held things up.
He guaranteed two men on the job everyday and there were.  If he was running late for any reason, which was not often, he always called. Running a little late was generally because he had to go to Home Depot or Lowes to pick up something needed for my job.  All the guys were very respectful and cleaned up any mess at the end of the day.  I think my garage was cleaner when they left than it was before they got here. All of these guys are hard working, honest ,and want to please.  One thing very important...I trusted all of them.
I see no place on this page to insert photos...so I am going to submit the review and see if I can then insert them (I have inserted photos for other reviews)

They arrived on time and called before arriving. They were very courteous, and professional. They explained everything they were doing and gave advice on how to keep the system working properly. Can't go wrong using them.

    Majestic Plumbing & Electric
Customer service was not as friendly as expected but they were courteous and responded to any concerns or questions. The plumber tried to sell unnecessary work/products but he was professional and clean and seem to have done a professional job, only time will tell. Overall, the service was good and I would probably recommend them or use them again in the future.

    Lovelace Plumbing Co
This was work performed under warranty. They had replaced the flapper valve several days before but the toilet continued to have the same problems. I called and they promptly scheduled a return visit. They arrived on time, covered their shoes, went straight to work, finished promptly and left. I was a little tense because I was still annoyed about a prior visit and having to call them back after that I said I would not. However, at least one of the two guys, the one who actually worked on my toilet and who spoke to me about it, was exceptionally professional and courteous, and I appreciate that.
