Pete arrived on time, got to work and did an excellent job. Stairs look like they always should have been there. He was fast and very pleasant to speak with and he cleaned up everything. Not an experience I have had with other contractors. I would hands down use him again for any stone/concrete work.

    J H Kinard Chimney & Fireplace
Scheduling the estimate as well as actual appointment went very smoothly, Andy was punctual, thorough and patient with my questions, etc. It went downhill from took 10 days for them to provide the requested estimates. They were not broken out as requested and certain things were unclear. When I followed up via email with some very specific questions I received no response. I had confirmed with Andy that email was an acceptable way to communicate and verified that the email address on his card was the best to use. I finally received a call a month later from the office looking to collect a $75 inspection fee that Andy forgot to get from me at our appointment...still no answers to my questions. I knew about the fee and had reached out offering to pay it, 2 days after my response. When I received the call about the $75 I expressed my frustration and demanded to speak with a manager, owner, etc. Louis, the owner was available and got on the phone immediately. He apologized for the lack of communication, waived the inspection fee and offered to review the correspondence personally and get me the answers that I needed. He truly wanted to make it right. He was very persistent in trying to reach me over the next few weeks, however once we did catch up he did not have all the answers I was looking for. Very frustrated that a company followed up on a $75 inspection fee but failed to follow up on initial questions for $25,000 estimate. I ended up using 3 other contractors to fulfill the needs that JH Kinard could have met and delayed my projects several months.

    J L Rios Masonry Inc
Mr. Rios's masonry company was subcontracted by our builder to do the stone and masonry work on our home. I had extensive conversations with Mr. Rios prior to and during construction concerning water intrusion issues and the methods he used to mitigate that threat. I have now discovered that the top of the entire front wall of our front porch and much of the roof decking behind it has rotted due to improper preparation/installation of the subterranean flashing below and between layers of the stonework. This has required the complete removal of the existing stonework and replacement of the underlying wooden substructure. The first hole was discovered in our attic ceiling approximately two months ago. Examination by a roofer indicated that the external flashing around the stonework was sealed, but that the water intrusion appeared to be entering "through" the stonework. I requested that Mr. Rios investigate and give me a repair quote. He advised that he would, but I have not heard from him since. Subsequent repairs from a different masonry company have revealed that the initial stonework installation was left improperly protected from water intrusion, leading to the rotting of the wooden substructure. After advising Mr. Rios of the findings, he disavows any responsibility for the preparation/installation of the proper water mitigation strategies to prevent the exact type problem which we are now addressing. Pointing fingers of blame in every direction but his crew, he blames the roofer, builder, etc. Notably, the roofer's external flashing was sealed. I would agree the builder was deficient in trusting Mr. Rios's crew to professionally know the requirements for their work and ensure they were completed. As professional stonemasons, either they should have properly prepared the underlayment for their stonework, or if they felt that part was not their responsibility, they should have brought it to the builder's attention to ensure that it was done prior to their work. No such concern was voiced.

They did an outstanding job of using what existing brick they could and bringing in new matching bricks to complete the project.  I was also very please with their reasonable price, another company had estimated $10,000.

    LJIA Masonry LLC
The work done was very professional. Israel provided all the answers I needed and the price he charges eclipses all others by leaps and bounds. All you have to do is get an estimate of what he charges versus what everyone else charges, and you will be immediately sold on the idea of converting your home into a beautiful all brick home. I am so very pleased with his excellent work.

First, he came on time for estimate.
.Made comment he could do work immediately....because his other job , being outside was too cold to do. when he did come back 10 days later and got cold again, the inside job of putting tile on hearth and fireplace face, was now do-able. When he arrived on time and resurveyed  job, he now thought it was more work and the price went up $350.00. Which we agreed on. When I said , for that extra price , it has to be perfect. He had a smoke and then decided he would not guarantee or be responsible for finish.
Needless to say......What a delay and waste of my time .

    Selective Designs
We selected Shane LeBlanc and Selective Designs for our pool/landscape project. All services performed were top notch, and they met the timeline for completion as promised. The design of our field stone wall is beautiful and it flows very well with the landscape and pool/hot tub. The project could not have gone better. We will utilize Selective for additional landscape projects in the future

The entire process went smoothly.  Brian gave us an estimate, showed up when promised, completed the job when promised, completed the job on budget and cleaned up the mess when finished.  The fireplace is beautiful.

Kurt returns phone calls and arrives at the date and time that he says he will. He always updates you as to the status of his projects, and when he'll return to finish. His sub-contractors are also professional. He's trustworthy-we gave him a key to the house. And our dog was always glad to see him! He is probably not the least expensive repair person you'll find, but he's reliable and delivers.
