  • A stroke Above provide amazing craftsmanship as well as excellent customer service. Sam and her crew took a house that was in need of major repair and made it completely new again. The crew is a wealth of knowledge and experience and only provides the highest level of service. There is not a better company in the area or the state for that matter that holds a candle to A Stroke Above Services.

  • They were way too expensive for what we wanted done. We're holding off on what we were going to do. They were very nice to work with. The quote was for having the whole house re-hardwood, and it was around $20,000. We were taking the hardwood out of the kitchen and putting tile in there, but every place that had carpet in it, which are the bedrooms and our upstairs, would have been hardwood. The most expensive part of it was the removing of the old flooring. There is engineered wood down, and that was the expense. They were very friendly and very, very helpful. It took a few days for them to respond back with a quote once they came out; it was almost a week, which I thought was a little timely.

  • -He decided to arrive and do the work at the same time, and tried to uncharge me for remodeling work to remove a bathtub and a water heater. In the process of removing old tub we discovered the sub-flooring had water damage and needed repaired; he initially quoted me an outrageous price to repair the entire bathroom sub-flooring when it was only a 3' x 4' area. -He showed up two hours late with his workers and In the end they did not completely repair the damaged area.

  • The quality of the workmanship was good. The crew was friendly and respectful. However, they did destroy one screen and a window blind from the window they used to throw the old carpet through to the ground. I did not point this out to A & D because they did not follow up with a "post installation walk-through" as stated in their contract agreement. In summary, the sales staff did appear to be a little distant once they received my payment checks. Also, I did notice a statement lying next to the new roll of carpet that their costs was .06 cents per foot and .54 cents per yard. If that is the case I feel quite foolish -- and taken -- accepting to pay the price they offered. My wife also insists that the installed carpet in not the same sample that we selected in their showroom (she was at work during installation). Caveat Emptor.

  • They did an excellent job.

This is the sixth time we've hired the Halls to do tile work for us.  The first time was three years ago when our entire kitchen floor had to be replaced due to a leak. The Halls did such a great job that when we wanted our guest bathroom remodeled, we hired them again. It was the best thing we could have done.

The Halls are creative and experienced. They had numerous ideas that enhanced the bathroom (we had it completely tiled from floor to ceiling), as well as having the old bathtub removed and remodeled as a shower. They were able to order marble for us at a better price than anything we could find in town. The bathroom now looks like something in a five-star resort spa.

We hired them to remove the ugly popcorn ceiling on the first floor of our house and replaced with the knockdown (not sure if this is the correct term, but it is done by putting the plaster on the ceiling, then pushing it up so that it creates a design). They did an outstanding job.

We had a second leak in our kitchen and had to have the entire floor replaced, again. We told the contractor to hire the Halls.  Good thing because we were told that we wouldn't be able to get the same tile that we originally had by the previous contractor. When my wife told Davin, he came back two days later and told us he found the manufacturer and placed an order for the tiles.

During that job, they noted our stairs still had carpeting on them (we had all of the floors done in wood). We had been told that to replace our stairs with wood, we would not have use of the stairs for two to three days. The Halls took all of the measurements and built the stairs before taking out the old ones. They did the job in one day.

Then, we just hired them to remove the old tile in our bathroom and replace it, and to fix our shower.  The first person to tile our master bath shower did a poor job of it, causing a serious mold problem in the shower.  Instead of putting a water proof shower pan on the floor under the tile, he installed a mud bed.  Besides that, he made it too deep. The shower floor was never able to dry completely.

Davin took out the old tile floor, completely cleaned the area and installed a shower pan and new tile.  The shower looks like it's brand new. On top of that, he was able to get a cleaner for the grout so we were able to removed all of the old mold that had seeped into the grout.

They are excellent workers and perform the best job. I would hire them anytime, for any job, in the future.

  • I had just bought a town home and planned to rip out all the carpet and put hardwood flooring down throughout (except bathrooms).  I had gone to three different flooring stores and A&D provided me with the best education on wood flooring and took their time to ensure the products they introduced me to would fit my needs for both the short term and the long term.  The ordering process was easy, the installation was on time and went smoothly.  At the completion of the job, the technicians performed a walk through with me to see if I had any questions regarding the flooring job.  A&D Carpet and Hardwood Floors Inc. are courteous, very knowledgeable, very skilled and professional!   I would highly recommend them!

  • The entire purchase and installation process went very smoothly.  The in-store consultation and on-site services were excellent.  Augusta Flooring is a locally-run business that maintains a high standard of quality, and I can't say enough wonderful things about my buying experience.  I have already recommended Augusta Flooring  to several of my friends who are looking to remodel and update their homes.

  • I couldn't be happier!  Clayton and his employees did a great job.  The job was priced very reasonable.  They worked quickly.
Too,  I  didn't want thresholds so they had to lay the wood as close as possible.  They did an awesome job with this.  I will use them again.

  • In the beginning I was impressed with the professionalism of the man who came out and did our estimate to refinish our floors.  The estimate I received was not the least expensive, but it was the good manners and straightforwardness of the man who did the estimate that made me decide to use Hardwood Floors and More.  I had specifically asked about some holes that had developed and he assured me that these holes would be filled in during the process.  We scheduled appointment, workers arrived on time and it seemed everything was going to be fine.
Workers sanded the floors down and replaced a couple boards that had a large gap between them.  They replaced on place of water damage from a door.  Somehow they did not replace the damaged boards directly in front of the front door.  Some of the gaps were filled in, but others were not.  When I asked about the remaining gaps I was told they would be filled in, and that we had a very large number of them.  Workers completed three coats of wax/varnish on the top of the floor.  We stayed away during this time so as to not walk on the floor and cause damage.  When I returned home we noticed that there were still holes that had not been filled in and it did not look very polished or completed at all.  I also asked about the damaged floor by the front door and was told it was too late to repair as the coats had already been placed.  I called and the same man who did the estimate came out.  He went ahead and scheduled a fourth coating to be done.  The forth coating was complete and the trim around the baseboards was finished.
I am not completely unhappy with the actual refinishing of the majority of the floors.  The things that I was/am unhappy about are:
    - The damaged wood by the front door was not replaced and I was told it could not be repaired after the coats of varnish were put down.  As professionals I would have assumed this is something they would have spotted and repaired.
    - I had to ask for an additional coat to make it even look like the floors had been refinished, it seems that whatever product was used was not very good.
    - There are still holes in the floor in a few places that were never filled in.

  • The thing to understand about this company, which they will be frank in telling you, is they ONLY do floors. We have lived in our house for about 4 yrs. The hardwood floors are about 12 yrs old but they are worn and had a rather poor pulyurethane job done to them. Prestige gave a fair estimate, however they do nothing but strip, stain, and finish the floors. When asked about all the furniture, I was told I'd have to take care of moving all that out and back in or I could hire a moving company. I asked if there was a regular company they recommend or use. They indicated yes. Well, how much do they typically run? Prestige would offer me no insight on this. They also indicated that they don't take up or do anything to the baseboard molding on the floor. Since they have to refinish right up to molding, they would likely mess it up, so I'd have to either replace or repaint it all myself. Bottom line, if you're planning to refinish the floor of a house your living in, go with another company unless you want to do a whole lot of work yourself.
