AAcadia Shutters IncOriginally called Home Depot. I’m was disappointed from the start with their professionalism. Second, they quoted me an astronomical price and then attempted to wheel and deal with me when I was hesitant. Home Depot contractor also told me they couldn’t even install one of the shutters in my bathroom due to a ledge in the window. I found Eric Peace with Acadia shutters by accident. Called him and immediately felt better about the entire deal... Eric didn’t pressure me or make me feel ignorant not knowing anything about shutters. After he came to the house he didn’t call me over and over again to try and sell me the shutters. I called him back maybe two months later and he still had all my information and was extremely happy to get the ball rolling with getting my shutters. I wish more people did business like him. AAcadia Shutters IncThe Sales Consultant, Jamie Anderson, was quite professional. He readily answered my questions and there was no pressure to buy the product. He thoroughly explained the procedure for removal of my old blinds and the installation process. He also followed through with my subsequent questions via email. ADan's Magic TouchThey arrived around 9:00 AM, and started by measuring the windows (four odd sizes the rest were standard). They made a pattern for the standard window and started cutting the metal; although there was some minor deviation in each window once they had the pattern each window was "Custom Fit" - no wood was left exposed. They set up their "Break" which allowed them to bend the metal to conform to their patterns and went to work. After encasing the window frame and sill in aluminum they calked all the seams so no moisture can penetrate. My windows are maintenance free and very attractive in as much as the "PVC Coil" has a wood grain texture. We were plagued with rain a couple of days but the job was thorough and I'm VERY satisfied and whole heartedly endorse their efforts and recommend them. Oh, it took about a week. As far as "Don'ts" try to pick a season with minimal rainfall.- Henry G.

ABrooks Design StudioI was happy with Brooks Design Studio doing my drapery. People have contacted me and came over to see her work. She does beautiful work. I've had custom draperies done before and they're probably the prettiest I've ever had done. She was very fair in her pricing. She really worked with me. She knew my budget and kind of told me what we can do. She even offered to go with me to look at fabrics. We went and looked, she talked. She found me a fabric that was on sale. ABrooks Design StudioShe is a graduate from the University of Georgia in interior design and she does her own work. She designs the job abd listens for your input and ideas. She does not use a workshop or workroom to do the treatments, she does them herself. She does the measuring and she has her own installer that comes with her. She stays there with him and makes sure that it is done correctly. I like that I didn’t have to buy my fabric through her; I could buy my fabric wherever I wanted to and she would even go with me to look at fabric if I wanted her to. She does quality work. It’s not fair to put a price on the work because it depended on the fabric used, design and the amount of labor. I talked to six different companies and she brought out samples of her work for me to look at so I could see the quality of her work. Out of all of them she was fair and reasonable and I didn’t feel like it was overpriced. If I couldn’t afford the price quotes she was more than willing to work with me to get it the price were both of us felt it comfortable with the price of the job. I loved that I was involved in the creative process and she was great at listening and suggesting things to make the end product more beautiful than I had expected. She’s coming back in a couple weeks to do more window treatments and slipcovers for my livingroom.- Glayline V.

AI searched online and got quote from 4 different companies. I picked Affordable Blinds and Shutters since I liked James' professionalism and his straight business approach. I live in California and the shutters are for my home in Gilbert, AZ. I did not know him personally and never met him. But I trusted him and paid $2550 down payment. The shutters were done extremely well and were installed as per commitment. I am pleased with the quality and integrity.

FIf I could give zero stars, I would. First, it was taking forever to get my order. When I looked at my order, they somehow had the wrong address (my former address from five years ago), so I contacted them to change the address. They assured me that the address was changed. A couple of weeks later, I was notified via email that my order was delivered but when I checked my front door it wasn't there, so I went to my old address, 30 minutes away and got lucky that the owner was there and had received my order. When I got it home the 3 roller shades that I ordered for side-by-side windows were all 4 inches too big. I followed the online measurement directions which suggested that you add 2 inches per side to your measurements for an outside mount. I should have stayed with my original measurements. When I called, they suggested that I keep an inch on each side. They re-made them, and AGAIN sent them to the wrong address - even after I re-confirmed that they had the right one. Again, I had to go to my old address to look for my delivery. This time, no one was home, so I took a chance and waited in front of their house for a while until someone may come home. Luckily, someone showed up within 90 minutes. This time they had showed up with 2 boxes! They re-made it twice (6 roller shades), all still too big! Due to the global pandemic and for personal reasons, I waited to address the issue. When I finally was able to contact them, I was sent a message that the CSR's supervisor determined that the blinds were made correctly. Therefore, they cannot offer a remake for this order. Their policy states that they will make up to 4 shades if the customer is not completely happy. However, they offered to remake the shades at a discounted price! I will not give them one more penny! Worst service ever! A $500.00 lesson learned - They stole my money and left me with 9 useless roller shades to get rid of. I do not recommend them!

FStair runner was installed crooked and nails poking thru carpet. I have been trying to get it fixed for 6 months. Do not sign anything they give you unless you are 100% satisfied and you have read the paperwork. The second crew that came out to look at the issue tried to get me to sign a form. They said "it just says that we came out". That is not what it said. It said that the problem was fixed and that there are no more issues. They show up and say they will come back, then they don't come back. They took the remnant of my carpet to bind and "fix" the problem when they come back. Then, they didn't come back. And after each time they don't show or show and don't fix it, I get a text asking if I'm satisfied. Each time, we call and say we are not satisfied. There is no end to this experience. I am going for a full refund from Home Depot and asking them never to use this company again.

AEverything went well. The blinds look great and the installation was quick. There did seem to be a bit of a delay in getting back to me about scheduling a time to install after I'd decided to go with them, but it was resolved without much of an issue. We received a small discount for being Angie's List members. We are planning on purchasing a new home and we would gladly use them again if our new home needs blinds or shutters.
