    THE TRUSTED TOOLBOX
Its great to have success at remodeling! We owe it all to Randy Williams and the Trusted Toolbox. Randy was very easy to work with and able to tackle all of the challenges that are involved with a complex remodel. His team were very kind and skilled in the house and always attentive to details. We wanted a horizontal niche and other special additions. Randy handled them with ease. It was very satisfying to be able to call out the things that we have always wanted and watch them come to life. All of the finishing touches line up perfectly! Thank you Trusted Toolbox.

    Drywall Repair & Interior Painting
This is the second time Jose, Ana, Rodo and Adris have restored a water damage problem for me. For this last incident Ana and Rodo responded quickly to my request for a bid to finish remediation work that began as a result of damage to my laundry, guest bedroom and closet and one end of a hall with linen closet. The remediation company had removed drywall, insulation and baseboards in each of the areas. Rodo and Adris began work the following week as promised and completed the job to my satisfaction in less time than originally planned. I highly recommend their professional work ethic and skill. They will be my first call should I ever need these types of services again.

Mike did a fantastic job all everything he has done for us. It is quality work at a fair price. I am saving up tasks now for when he is next available and he will be doing a bath remodel later this year. I would highly recommend him.

    A&A Wildlife & Home Solutions
Matt came out to the house the next day at 6 PM to take care of the critter in the chimney. He didn't charge us any extra for this one trip. We scheduled the attic assessment for 2 days later where Matt came back and examined the attic and roof line. He explained where the critters were entering and his assessment of what animals had invaded our attic. The quote was very reasonable. He sealed the entire roof line while leaving a single opening to trap any squirrels still inside along with leaving a few rat traps in the attic. The squirrel traps are designed not to harm the animal so Matt could release back into the wild at some other location. He arrived promptly to complete the work and finished the same day. He cleaned up everything before leaving and the work didn't change any of the look along the roof. Matt checked back every few days to find out if we were still hearing any critters in the attic or if any of the traps were tripped. After about a week he removed the traps and sealed the last point of entry. It's been about 3 weeks and we haven't heard any more scurrying around in the attic. The scheduling process was very efficient and we changed the date once due to the rain forecast. Matt was very courteous and professional throughout the process. He was responsive to our questions and follow up calls after the work was completed.

    Sterling Paint & Construction Services
I am actually somewhat surprised by all the excellent recommendations for Sterling. My experience with them was very average. I would give them a B- if I were able. The quality of work that was done was good, but there were lots of additional charges and took 6 or 7 weeks to complete the project. Ben came out to give me a quote initially. His quote was not the lowest that I had received but I felt that they would do a quality job and wanted to work with his company. He agreed to discount his quote by half of the difference between the two. Carpentry: The first prep crew that was out to the house started using large amounts of wood filler to fill rotten ends of trim boards. I told Ben that wasnt the kind of quality work that I expected them to do. After that, the carpentry crews seemed to do a better job at replacing section of rotted trim. The carpentry portion of the job continued for quite some time several weeks. I had to repeatedly send Ben pictures of rotten boards that needed to be replaced before they were addressed. The quality of work that was done was really good. Unfortunately, I had to act as a quality control on the job for several things. Paint: The painting seemed to go much faster than the carpentry work. My only issue with the painting was that the flashing on the front of the house wasnt painted, and I had to repeatedly remind (and send pictures) to Ben that it needed to be painted. Again, the paint quality seemed to really good with the exception of a few small things. Gutters: The gutter and gutter helmet installation went OK. One section of gutter on the front of the house was not installed initially. I had to call Ben and send him an old picture of the house showing him that there was indeed a section of gutter in that area before. He had his subcontractor come back out and install the missing section of gutter. The gutters were then painted to match the trim since the stock color wasnt an exact match. The quality of the gutter installation was also excellent. Professionalism: There were some issues with the crews professionalism. One side of the house has some small trees and overgrown landscaping. In order to paint this side of the house, the crew cut down 2-3 small trees and broke many branches on the bushes. I understand that some of this has to happen, but this was rather extensive damage.to the point that I am now going to have to replace some of the landscaping in this area. I also found two flood light bulbs that were thrown into the woods behind my house. I had to pick up the broken pieces from these bulbs. Ben initially told me that he thought the entire process would take 2 weeks plus time for the gutter work. The project ended up taking 6-7 weeks for completion. Pricing: I did have Ben add some additional siding replacement to the project after it started. This was a small section of siding, but it was on the second story roof. Including this additional section, I was charged and additional $1335 beyond the initial quote of $5769 for painting and carpentry. I understand that there will be additional things that cant be seen when given a quote, but a 23% difference from the quote to the final bill seemed rather excessive. One additional charge in particular that I did not agree with was a $225 charge for nails and nailing on a section of existing bulging siding. This should have been included in the original quote and if not, then $225 was very excessive for this item. After telling Ben that I wouldnt be calling him back to quote replacing my deck because of the excessive additional charges, he wanted to take away the $225 nailing charge but also charge me an additional $140 for more brick molding that he said hadnt included before. Overall I am happy with the quality of work that was done, but it came with several headaches, many additional charges and took way longer than it should have.

They did a very good job doing the work and very quickly.  I did have to let them know about a few missed areas of work but they were very responsive in returning to fix those issues.  Overall they did a very good job and I would consider them again.

    Pinnacle Window & Siding Co
I couldn't be happier with the quality of windows and door and the installation. The Pinnacle team from the sales lead, Dennis Williams, to the office manager, Nancy, to the installers Steve, Jason, Robert and Kevin and last but not least, Owner, Lee Fuller provided outstanding service and professionalism during the entire process. I researched many companies and Pinnacle stood out as one of the best. Pinnacle showed me why they are rated so highly. Their attentive staff from the selection of windows and doors, scheduling, and installation was flawless and the high quality craftsmanship (these guys are skilled carpenters not just window installers) of the installation was beyond my expectations. I have a friend who is a carpenter and he was extremely impressed with the detail finish work the installers completed. We had large palladian windows that required custom installations and the end result is fantastic. I highly recommend Pinnacle Window and Siding Co. for all your door and window needs.

    E 3 Efficiency
Mike Wilder and two employees came over on 11/07/2014 to
review the job.  We agreed on an extra
$200 to cover the cost of the high soffit returns on two corners and the repair
of one bird hole in the stucco chimney.
He noted that 4 corners of the soffit returns needed repairing due to
rotted wood (fascia and soffit).  He also
agreed to patch the holes in the gutter on the back side of the house.  He also agreed to re-glaze where need - two
picture windows on the back side of the house at no charge.  I provided 4 tubes of window glazing for this
task and told him I would paint it myself.
The cold and rain that hit Atlanta delayed his starting the job -
    understandably.  He appreciated my
    patience.

The first time he showed up with his two employees it was
after 5pm.  Mike was very ill but still
tried to work on the job.  They were able
to patch the bird hole in the chimney and paint it.  I was told they repaired the leaking gutter
with 3 of the 4 tubes of window glazing I provided them with.  I was also told they repaired a large crack
in my stucco too - this was not in the scope of my job and may need to be
redone to keep the integrity of the stucco intact.  One of the corners of the soffit return over
the rear deck was "patched" with the same window glazing (photo included).  No new wood was used for the soffit or fascia
board.  The corner soffit by the garage
had a "patch" piece of plywood where the rotted plywood was and the
cracks were covered with window glazing that I provided for my windows (photo
included).  I asked Mike to redo the
cracks with silicone caulk which he should have used in the first place and he
told his crew (two men) that he would sand it and take care of it himself.  He never did sand it or use silicone caulk on
    it.

They left and returned another day late in the afternoon
(around 5:15pm) and began re-glazing the two picture windows on my back
deck.  They resulting job was horrible
(photos included) and will have to be redone.

They returned again another late afternoon (around 5:15pm)
and continued to re-glaze the picture windows while on employee worked on the
corner soffit over the master bathroom.
It too was a "patch" of plywood only at the corner of the soffit.  The adjacent plywood that is rotten was not
replaced and I can only assume that the missing pieces of plywood will be also
filled with caulk or something else and not replaced (photo included).

I asked that he not touch the soffit above the garage as his
attempts to correctly repair it had failed.
I will have to redo it myself.

On Saturday 11/29/2014, I received a text message from Mike
that I was to leave the paint out on my deck as he and his crew was coming over
on Sunday to "finish the job".
That is the 4th time I was told that.
He never showed up nor did he contact me that he could not make it.

Angie's Big Deal contract states this is for a single
visit.  I have had 4 and the job is still
    not finished.

Angie?s Big Deal contract also states that the appointments
will be performed during normal business hours.
The appointments have been after 5pm and the work was done mostly in the
    dark.

I have discussed the poor quality of the work with Mike, but
the tasks still lack any sign of craftsmanship.
I feel I am the fill in job after the good paying jobs are done.  I am also afraid to allow him to continue for
fear the work he does will only make matters worse and not done during normal
business hours.  I?d rather take a lose
than have to pay more for repairs if he continues.

The work was done over about a three week period.  It went pretty smoothly.  All the work looks great, and seems well done.  The master carpenter, Lupe, did very nice work on the front porch, retaining wall/steps, and fence.
There were a couple of minor spots where they had to come back and touch up the trim paint around a window, which they did promptly when I pointed it out.  There was minor damage to some bushes around the house, which is understandable since the bushes were badly overgrown.  They did a pretty good job of cleaning up after themselves and pressure-washed the concrete driveway.
