ANeli Virtual Appliance RepairThis was a unique service that ended up being extremely helpful towards my problem. My side by side fridge/freezer was dropped during a recent house move which rendered the freezer door to not close shut. After calling the moving company to fix the situation, they set me up with Neli to assist in the matter. The virtual technician was wonderful to work with and patient as he guided me to what the problem was and a resolution to fixing it, along with specific part numbers needed for replacement items. This was a great first time virtual technician experience for me after being hesitant towards using it, because I’m not the most mechanically inclined. ABATTEN'S APPLIANCEAppreciate good service as I owned an HVAC company for 30 years. Battens is local and greatly improved under new leadership since 2018. My Bosch dishwasher stopped working and we fired the family dishwasher long ago so this was a disaster for us. The Battens team of Pam, Denny, JC & Jake scheduled, diagnosed and replaced the warranty part from Bosch within 2 weeks (mostly due to Bosch dragging their feet on this expensive control board). I will seek Battens advice in addition to Consumer Reports on future purchases as service AFTER the sale is most critical in “disasters” like mine.- Jon P.

AChoice Home WarrantyTech knew exactly how to repair the problem. He repaired the problem two days early. Unfortunately, the parts and labor for the ice maker are not covered by the maintenance plan. I was not told this. I had to pay extra to have this feature repaired. You should be sure to tell subscribers to your service, since many units now have ice makers I was not happy to pay for this extra.($361)- George M.

ATalked to me via video chat - I was able to show him the dishwasher and the issue it was having. He told me where to look underneath to find the part that needs replacement and when I was looking at it with my phone camera he circled it on screen to confirm which one it was. Told me what to get and how to replace it once I received it. Very efficient and was able to talk to him same day as problem occurred for the same price.

FMy husband called Mr V to have my dishwasher and steam oven diagnosed. The tech they sent did not even attempt to check the oven for a problem from the front before he pulled it out of the cabinet. Then he says "You have a leak" Well we did not have a leak before he got there and he tried to put pipe sealer on a compression coupling which it should not need. When he put the oven back it must have really started spewing and when I got home there was water everywhere. The tech came back out and seems to have fixed the leak but the owner will not return phone calls about the wood floor that is now water damaged and needs resanded and polyurethane. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!

FAmerican Home Shield (AHS) warranty is replacing my broken microwave with a new one. I received the new microwave on 11/11/2020 and notified AHS it was in my possession. Part of the warranty contract includes the installation of the new microwave. AHS typically assigns contractors themselves. However, this time AHS contracted with C & R Services with a dispatch number on 11/13/2020 for C & R to assign a local contractor to do the install. After two weeks of waiting and not being contacted by C & R or a contractor, I called C & R to follow up on the status. They said it would be 1 to 2 weeks from the date they received the dispatch from AHS. I informed them it had been 2 weeks in which they replied that it would be another 2 weeks. As of today, 12/11/2020, 4 weeks from the date C & R received the dispatch, I have not been contacted by C & R or a contractor. C & R's lack of communication and customer service is absurd. AHS informed me that they do not have any authority over C & R.

FThey told me it was a covered repair and to get the work done and submit invoice and they would reimburse us. We got it done and submitted the invoice. After 3 months of constant follow up they covered part of the parts charge and none of the labor. Then, following up again, they responded with, WE ARE CLOSING THE BUSINESS.
