    Cardinal Construction & Roofing, Inc.
We were truly pleased and happy with Charley and Cardinal Construction.  We received several bids before deciding on Cardinal which we did so because of cost, professionalism, creativity (Charley went above and beyond with suggestions and extra touches that no one else, nor us had thought of) and time frame.  They started the job within a week of us hiring them and stayed close to the estimate of 6-8 weeks (minor set backs associated with permits with our city made Cardinal's job more challenging).  We were assigned Jim as the project manager of our job.  He was knowledgeable, accessible, and professional.  Cardinal completed the job as close to on time as possible, for the amount we discussed and the basement is amazing.  It doesn't even look like a basement (looks just like the upper floors with high ceilings and crown molding).   All of their subcontractors were great and professional.  I would highly recommend Cardinal Construction for remodeling of your home.  We will certainly hire them again!Ti

work generally went well.   downspouts were initially installed in wrong positions, but this was promptly corrected.  front steps were initially done with irregular heights, but this was also corrected quickly.

They were just too expensive so I decided not to go with them. They were recommended to me and I have no like or dislike. They were punctual and the meeting went fine. They came recommended by someone else.

    LB Roofing & Construction
With all the rain in the past few months, my roof was leaking in multiple places. I contacted numerous companies in the Atlanta area for quotes; one did not even show up for the scheduled appointment, one gave me a price which was unreasonable and another did not work well with my insurance company. My friend then had referred me to LB roofing because they had their roof replaced and said the customer service was impeccable. I listened to her advice and called. To my surprise, the owner of the company, Lee, called me back the same day and scheduled the appointment the same week. The service and his expertise were invaluable and he answered all my questions very patiently. He was able to fix my roof the same day. I was so pleased with the service that I had him look at my basement which needed remodeling. His team was able to put in an in-law suite in the basement furnished with a spectacular kitchen and a bathroom. I am so glad I listened to my friend's advice and am very happy with the end result.

Penn Carpentry LLC - General Contractor
When I first had them out to bid on the work, I was immediately impressed with the attention to detail.  I had requested a shower for the bathroom (stubbed by the builder) to reduce expense.  Greg noted that the pipe was placed for a tub install and that while a shower could be installed, it would be have to be custom, and a tub would actually be less expensive.
When I had them out a second time to walk through their bid, they had already put a timeline together which met my desired completion date.
Throughout the process Tate was very responsive and helped us realize our vision for what we wanted.
They finished on time and pretty close to the original budget (I went way over on my lighting allowance, but am extremely pleased with what we got).
I strongly recommend these guys and would hire them again for my next project.

    Gus Pounds' Homes LLC
We've had them do our deck, our basement and he's built houses up and down our street.  Pretty much all of the other companies wanted to rebuild our deck for over $5,000.  Gus's carpenters are so meticulous and good at what they do they were able to revamp it, brace it, strengthen it and save me $3500.  It looks like a brand new deck and more solid than any other deck.  They have framed out and are int he process of finishing up our basement.  It is a mild basement remodel, new framing, electrical, doors, stairs and windows.  They were able to do all that work for under $5,000 when other companies were in the $6,000 - $12,000.  They are very meticulous and excellent carpenters.

    Attention to Detail Home Remodeling
My husband and I finally decided it was time to remodel the kitchen of our Decatur home when the third drawer front came off in his hand as he attempted to prepare dinner. He is a devoted foodie and the family chef. I am a meticulous organizer who likes to have everything hidden away, yet easily accessible. We knew we were not going to be easy people to work with.

After meeting with and receiving bids from four different contractors, we agreed with little discussion that we wanted to work with David Sturm, of Attention to Detail. While David's was not the least expensive of the bids, he was by far the most knowledgeable and detail-oriented of the contractors we met. At our first meeting, he took the time to get to know a little bit about us, our lifestyle and personal tastes, which he ultimately incorporated into the design proposal. While other contractors wrote down our ideas and opinions, David was also able to make intelligent design suggestions based on our preferences. He picked up our style and captured our vision in a way that we would not have been able to communicate on our own.

David and his employees were quick to address any of our concerns or difficulties during the remodeling process. When part of our granite countertop was installed with incorrect measurements, the problem was handled in a timely and professional manner. No one tried to talk us into accepting the first piece, or suggested that we should help pay for a replacement. This is just one of the many instances in which an issue that could have turned into a confrontation was simply taken care of.

But David's attention extended far beyond the details of our kitchen. As our main level is mostly one large, open space, most of it became off-limits during the remodel. We relocated our lives (and our pets) to the basement, which was a tight fit when most of our kitchen equipment and all our family members tried to occupy the space at once. This was hardest on my son, who has a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Change in routine, particularly in his home environment, is very difficult for him.  One day, I mentioned to David that my son was literally climbing the walls in the basement while we tried to make dinner. Several days later, David delivered a gift: a booklet titled "What's Happening to My Kitchen?" complete with pictures, checklists and rough timelines. It seems that David's wife, Alison, had an acquaintance familiar with autism spectrum disorders, and sought her expertise in creating this booklet. My son was so enthralled that he slept with it that night.

Other ways in which Attention to Detail went above and beyond:
    1) After learning a little bit about the specialized private school my son attends, Attention to Detail went on to donate a design consultation to the school's fundraising auction.
    2) David and his staff prepared an outdoor brunch for the families in our immediate neighborhood, as their thank-you for tolerating the parking challenges presented by the remodel
    3) When the remodel was finished, we discovered substantial termite and carpenter ant damage (thankfully not in the kitchen) when repositioning our furniture. David arrived the day after we e-mailed him with photos of our initial discovery, did a full damage assessment and had workers on site almost immediately.
    4) Nathan, our project manager for the kitchen remodel, was at our home when the exterminators uncovered the carpenter ant nest, as well as several black widow spiders living in our walls. Despite feeling ill with what would later turn out to be the flu, he "baby sat" me all day while I freaked out about the number of creatures trying to move into my home.
    5) Fortunately, we have a termite bond that covered all the damage (about $20K worth). Unfortunately, the company took more than three months to issue the reimbursement checks, and this only happened after my husband threatened to hire a lawyer. Not once during that time did David ask us to pay him the $20K that he had already paid to his workers. He waited for the checks to arrive, though he had no obligation to do so.
    6) Though we are 4 months' past the conclusion of the initial kitchen project, David continues to cheerfully answer our questions and address any concerns that arise (like I said, we're picky people).

Since the kitchen was finished, there's not a service person, repairman or invited guest in our home who doesn't comment on how amazing the space is, and we continue to be pleased with both its beauty and functionality. Furthermore, we continue to be certain that in selecting Attention to Detail to remodel our kitchen, we found not only an excellent contractor in David Sturm but a genuinely good person (a mensch, if you speak Yiddish) to boot.
