  • I sent my 89 year old mother over there by ambulance for emergency treatment this monday morning. I gave the ambulance EMT her full name, social security number, date of birth, her doctors' names, and my name & phone number (her son). Well I thought she was in good hands now over at "Gwinnett Medical Center" so I'll go on to work and go see her after work. After I get off work I immediately call the hospital to find out exactly where she was placed, so I could quickly get there. Well I was informed by the admissions desk that they had no listing or record of her anywhere! I could not believe what I was hearing cause the EMT driver said she would definitely be brought to that hospital, and not to worry. Someone had previously advised me to try that hospital. So now I'm starting to panic a little cause I've never "lost" someone by ambulance on the way to the hospital. So I call 911 to find out where the heck my mother was taken. They check their records and say definitely "Gwinnett Medical Center". So I call back over to the hospital and make sure I give absolutely all relevant information and am told that no there is no listing or record of her! Well now I am starting to panic so I call 911 back again and demand that they call the ambulance service and immediately contact me. In a few minutes they contact me and say definitely my 89 year old mother was admitted into that hospital, and that they would call over there and try to locate her. They call back and tell me that my mother was admitted as an anonymous "Jane Doe" because they were unable to contact me to verify her! So instead of accepting any of the full clearly written information written by my hand and given to the EMT, and I'm sure properly presented to the emergency department, the hospital enters her into their system as an anonymous "Jane Doe"! Instead of simply listing her as "tentatively until verified" under her own presented name! So any family members won't be traumatized thinking that their loved one is lost somewhere! That's not a very "caring" and "considerate" and "thoughtful" policy for a major hospital to have. In my opinion!

  • I love Northside! We took a tour before hand to know what to expect before the birth of our child. Everything went exactly as they said it would. The facilities were excellent, the nurses were great! it took a little while to check in despite having us pre-registered though. the rooms were huge and nice - I have seen Piedmont's rooms and they don't compare! all the amenities they offered were fabulous...from family waiting areas, to lounges, to drinks, to lactation specialists. I will be back for my next child. Bedside manner - amazing!

  • I have had major back surgery and two knee surgeries in the last few years. I have had excellent services. They have a meeting once a year for people who have had all kinds of orthopedic surgery to share their experiences and offer their suggestions with the nurses and the other people, and that helps other new patients who are coming in and have just had the surgery. They have answers to my questions. They take me in right away and if anyone is cut and bleeding they will see to them fast, especially heart and blood pressure patients. They are very good and they are very clean. They are very friendly and nice. They come in to make sure I am comfortable and see if I need any treatments. They have very good doctors, they have good bed side manner and their effectiveness of treatment is good. I rate them highly. I will continue to use them in the future.

  • I had a pretty decent experience while I was in the hospital. I was actually there three different times; all semi-related to the same item. As far as an emergency room, it took them from 11 o'clock in the morning to 8 o'clock in the evening before they were able to clear a bed for me. In the mean time there wasn't any problem, it was just the matter of waiting. In terms of punctuality, they did things on time. In terms of staff friendliness, it could not be better. In terms of billing and administration, I did not like the bill but the insurance paid the bill hundred percent. I would use this facility in the future.

  • I stayed there for three days and the service was excellent; they were very attentive to all of my needs. There is always room for improvement but I think they are on the right track. I think it is a first-class medical institution and that it is the best place to go if you are sick.

  • This facility has an outstanding practitioner named Martha Tallman. She is as smart if not smarter than the doctors at this facility. She is the best nurse practitioner I have ever ran into! She has a beautiful personality and makes you feel at ease. She also makes you feel comfortable and always acts professionally. I originally saw Dr. David Jacobson and he is very smart and good at what he does.

  • My ex was in the Intensive Care unit from May to June 2008. The care he received was great! Unfortunately his body just wasn't strong enough and he passed away in the IC unit. The doctors and nurses were very caring and answered all our questions concerning treatments and what tests were going to be done and why. The only complaint I have is by the time you get to know the doctors and they know you, they are transferred to another teaching facility. This happens every four weeks. We went through alot of doctors in 5 or 6 specialities and sometimes it was very frustrating especially the doctors that did not speak English very well. Overall, my family and I were very pleased with the care given.

  • They were incompetent. They set an appointment for me to go to the lab at 1 o?clock in the afternoon. I went back and forth to the lab. I also informed them about an hour and a half later that I am a diabetic patient and wanted to have my food. So, I told them to get the lab work done fast. I was sitting after coming back from the lab and they never saw me even till 5 o?clock. They told me that I never answered them when they came out to call me. So, I told them that I was sitting right there. Then I wanted to have my diabetes checked and I was having uncontrolled blood pressure and I couldn?t get an appointment to see the nephrologist. I wouldn?t recommend them to others. I wasn?t happy as there was a guy who pushed me off when I was standing in the line.

  • Hospital stay was over a week and rehab was needed. Everything went very well. Spouse released to long term rehab.
