    Atlanta Custom Construction
I contacted several contractors to see about having some dead space above our kitchen cabinets transformed into storage space. The project involved demolition of the existing lath and plaster soffits, and then framing out the new "cubby holes.". Two contractors came out to look at the project and offer a quote. One e-mailed the quote to the wrong e-mail address. I hired Keith (I eventually got back in touch with the other contractor and it turned out that he had pretty much quoted the same price). Keith showed up promptly each morning and got the job done in about 4 days. He has a great deal of experience (30+ years) which was probably useful for our project since he wasn't thrown off course by with issues arising from the fact that most things in our holder house are not true and square (e.g., the ceiling line). He was also able to offer suggestions as to design so as to fit in with the existing esthetic of our kitchen. Anyway, the end result looks quite nice. He is not a painter, so if your project involves painting, as our's did, you will need to arrange for that separately.

    JCF Remodeling
This is the worst possible contractor you could hire. They do shoddy work (if they complete the work at all) and have fraudulent insurance. Jorge and his crew were hired to replace 4 fence panels in the perimeter fence surrounding my neighborhood. This is your average privacy fence - nothing too complicated. They were late showing up initially. When they did arrive a few days later they did not complete the work and left a pile of debris in my backyard. The work was left incomplete for a month. During this time they did not respond to any type of communication (emails, phone calls, text, etc). They were asked to remove the trash from my yard multiple times, but the trash is still there. In addition to the work being incomplete, it was also done incorrectly. They repaired a fence panel that had fallen over into my backyard. They never filled the holes back in around the fence posts. They took some blocks of concrete from my neighbor's yard and busted it up and put it around some of the posts instead of pouring concrete around it. The fence panels at the exit of the neighborhood are missing wooden slats and only partially finished. Jorge finally responded with the excuse he had been out of the country for the past month. He partially completed the job, took a deposit, left debris, and then took a trip out of the country without telling anyone he was leaving. He stated he would now complete the job, but never showed up. His excuse for not showing up this time is he was in court with his attorney. He then stated he did not have the money to finish the job because another client filed a lawsuit against him and the money was taken out of his bank account. When his insurance company was contacted they stated the policy he provided was not his policy; it belonged to a roofing company. That company was contacted and the guy who owns the roofing company has never had an employee or worked with anyone named Jorge. He was equally surprised his policy was being used by another company. So, after a month and a half, there is still a pile of debris in my backyard, the fence repairs are still not complete, what is completed is poor quality, he was sued by a previous client, and he has no real insurance and fraudulently tried to use a policy belonging to another company. I would strongly suggest looking somewhere else - anywhere else!

    GRS Services
The bath remodel, which included new cabinets and floor as well as replacing a tub with a shower stall, produced a beautiful room which we enjoy to this day. Mr. Zaiden discovered a cracked beam under the floor which he quickly replaced, much to my relief. You can be certain that he will correct any problems or defects discovered during the construction process. The fire restoration was difficult for me, but Mr. Zaiden guided my choices for granite counter tops, cabinets, appliances and hardware. His men completed the construction in record time, including the replacement of one entire wall in the kitchen, so we could move back into our home as quickly as possible. Although I ultimately selected the new fixtures and colors for the repairs, the advice I received from GRS proved to be accurate and invaluable in creating a beautiful, safe environment. I am extremely happy with the results. I give GRS Services a "thumbs up" followed by 5 stars.

    J&E contracting
The team from J&E did a great job prepping and painting all the rooms in the condo. They took the time to clean and prepare surfaces as needed so the whole unit looked great when they were finished.

    Acadia Shutters Inc
Wil, the Sales Manager, came by for a consultation. He was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and most importantly answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed (and I am the type who asks a lot of questions.) I thought the price quoted was very reasonable and mailed a deposit the next day. It took 8 weeks for delivery (had to allow for Thanksgiving and Christmas.) Ben, the installer, was also friendly, professional and efficient. The shutters look beautiful and open/close very smoothly. I couldn't be more pleased. I would highly recommend this company.

    Riverside Painting
Riverside Painting exceeded my expectations as to quality work; they provided the best exterior house repair and painting work that I have ever experienced. I worked with Gerardo Perez (Field Manager) to determine the wood to be replaced and the type of paint that I wanted. He was very knowledgeable and proposed a wood repair solution for the front bay window sill that no one else had suggested. (others had done "patch" repairs with epoxy that had failed). The carpenter did a masterful job in removing and replacing the entire sill across 3 windows with molded plastic, at a minimal cost. The window looks like new, saving me thousand of $ for a replacement window. Gerardo made sure that everything went well and was in close contact with the crew manager Santiago. Santiago and the crew (4 men) were polite, respectful, and happy to answer any questions that I had as the work progressed. The crew worked very efficiently and they liked working with each other. They arrived on time and carefully cleaned up the site each day. The entire job, from power washing & wood replacement to finished painting took only 31/2 days! My house looks wonderful and I now know that the exterior is completely repaired and painted. In addition to their excellent work, reasonable price, and professionalism, there are a few other pluses to using Riverside. Much to my surprise, they did not require a down payment; I paid only after Gerardo came to my house and reviewed the finished work with me! Another big plus is that they have a 5 year warranty on the painting. And lastly they offer an annual whole house power wash, gutter cleaning, and inspection of the exterior for a very reasonable price. I plan to use this service to keep my house looking its best. I am very impressed with Riverside Painting and I recommend them to others. By the way, I did get 2 other Angie's List painter estimates and the price charged by Riverside was in the middle; what swayed me was their additional proposal for the wood repair at a reasonable cost. I also liked dealing with Gerardo Perez.

Nick came and evaluated the situation.  Then he left to purchase the materials needed to do the job.  He repaired the front window, the trim on the house facing the deck and caulked so that there would be no further rot.  He did an amazing job.  He is a real artist. There was one place in particular that was very tricky and he pieced together parts to make it match. Being a designer I am very particular.  It was a great experience and I am very pleased with Nick's work.

    Epie's Electric Services
Dan Doster came out to give me an estimate the evening after I first contacted Epie's.  We went over everything I wanted taken carre of and he promised to get back to me with an estimate as soon as possible.  I received an estimate from Dan about 2 evening later and we talked and decided on a very fair price.  The job was begun on the 17th and pretty much completed on the 18th.  Eric had to come back on the 19th to finish some molding and caulking that couldn't be done until the paint had completely dried in the bathroom. The work was done as promised and finished just about on time.  I found both of the workmen to be personable, knowledgeable, and eager to make sure I was satisfied with the job.  Oh, the best part - they completely clean up the work area everyday before they leave. I'm sure I'll be using Epie's again - my house is 60 years old and there is always something to be done. I highly recommend this business and its employees.

Adam was really great to work with. He got back to us quickly after first contact, answered our many questions, worked with us on budget, and got started on the project right away. Adam is hands on and was on site daily to oversee all the sub contractors. His crew works quickly and efficiently and were all really nice.  We were living in our house during the renovation and they made is as easy as possible on us. There were a few minor hiccups along the way as we had changed a lot of details in the blueprints so were working from 2 sets of plans but everything was resolved quickly without any hassle. We are SO happy with our new kitchen and living spaces-it is a really dramatic transformation. We will definitely be contacting him again in the future when we renovate other areas.
