Septic Tank Cleaning reviews in Dawsonville

We were quoted one price then charged nearly 150% MORE with ZERO communication that anything would be costing more than we were told. Quoted $300 for septic pump and $700 to install 5 toilets and 2 sinks. Total should have been $1000 (and some change for a water line). NOPE! We were charged $2450!! Had we been told things would cost more, we would have opted not to use them or to have them stop work. Predatory quoting/billing - STAY AWAY!!

    Ron McManus
DO NOT HIRE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hired Mr. Ron McManus to fix a septic tank issue where he had replaced a pump in one of two holding tanks. After 2 weeks, the alarm on my septic rang out and, as I was out of town, relied upon Mr. Ron McManus to fix the problem. He stated that both my pumps needed to replaced as did the entire drain field to cost me over $6000,he had already replaced the one pump for over $1000. He demanded $800 upfront, which I had to have my neighbors give him because I was out of town, then demanded another $3600 because his suppliers would not give him credit (red flag). I hired another company to come out and pump out the tank that would hold me until I got back. When the qualified company came out and subsequently fixed the problem, the problem was that Ron McManus did not put in a high enough horsepower pump in the first place and the liquid was not getting to the other pumping station so it filled the tank and the alarm went off. McManus put a 1hp versus the correct 2hp pump and that WAS the problem. My problem was created by Mr. Ron McManus which he was going to "fix" for over $6000. The other pump as well as the drainfield was inspected by the qualified technician and was found the be fine. I am currently trying to get my $800 back from Mr. Ron McManus because there is absolutely no evidence that he did anything at all but cannot find him now. If anyone knows how to reach him, please let me know. There is a law suit waiting for him. I cannot tell anyone reading this enough to STAY AWAY from him as in my opinion, and what I have been through, he is a con man waiting to figure out how to fraudulently separate you from your money. There should be a negative star(s) for people who are con artists and actively look to take advantage of people. DO NOT HIRE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GA Septic
During the initial call in the morning provider suggested that the crew with the truck would stop by in a couple of houses. They eventually showed up at 6:30pm and we agreed to postpone the work to the next morning due to the onset of rain. Quoted rate for the pumping was $189 plus environmental fees for a total of around $210

Unfortunately I was not there myself when the work was done the next day. Provider pumped the tank, then created a high pressure situation for my wife by suggesting extra services due to "excessive sludge and water in the tank". My wife is on disability and had a hard time dealing with it and I tried to take it on remotely from work..I talked with the crew on the phone, but did not see the invoice until I cam home.

Through high pressure tactics and creating stress the provider talked us into spending $2070 for what was essentially a septic tank pumping job and outlet baffle Tee replacement.

    This included

    Pump: $189
    Overfill: $161
    Pump drain field: $225
    Replace outlet baffle Tee: $360
    Liquid live bacteria: $1070
    Environmental fee: $12
    Fuel surcharge: $18.50

The charge for the baffles seems to be on the high side of average. The two extra charges for overfill and drain field pumping are questionable and did not take me long to find out that the GA department of health, who licenses septic tank pumpers in Georgia does recommends against the addition of expensive bacterial in their section for unethical business practices as they typically are unnecessary.

Overall I recommend against using this provider and I find their business practices and professional ethics highly questionable.

    Banks Septic
Saturday afternoon we noticed the toilets were backed up in every bathroom.  We figured it must be a septic system issue.  WE had the septic tank serviced by one of the nationally advertised franchised companies 2 years ago...they charged us almost $8,000 to clean out the 16 year old tank, upgrade it by adding risers and a drainage field filter.  The work was OK, but very expensive, so we were not going to call them again. We joined Angie's List after getting frustrated looking on Google for a septic company - we found many, but had no idea if they were any good.   We then signed up on Angie's List and  looked for a highly rated local firm.  Banks Septic Service was very highly rated and had very positive reviews.  We called them around 3pm Saturday and the phone was immediately picked up by their office.  They took down our information and had a technician call us back within 15 minutes.  The technician had us describe the problem.  He told us he had several call ahead of us, so would be a couple of hours, but would check to see if another technician was available.  At 4pm, another technician arrived at our house.  Very professional and clearly knew what he was doing.  He quickly dug up the risers and showed us how the tank was completely full and the drainage filter was completely clogged with toilet wipes (these were labeled as OK for septic tank use!).  He removed the filter to test whether the drainage field was ok...which luckily it was.  He then pumped out the tank, cleaned out the filter and had everything back together within an hour.  Could not be happier with the service.  Banks came through when we needed them! and...Angie's List works!
