  • Finding that difficult to believe, I took the microwave to another appliance company who discovered that the mother board was not the problem to begin with but rather, a lose wire. That saved me around $300-400 bucks!

  • I took in my microwave in for repair. I was told the and quot;mother boardand quot; was fried and the unit would need a new one. However, Langford was unable to order the correct board by their own admission. I mean, really? To make matters worse, they came back to me saying that I had to order the correct mother board. I mean, really?
    Needless to say, small appliance repair is not my current occupation. I suppose I could go to the trouble to research and talk with the company and order the correct part. But really, I'm certain I would not know how to install the part and would have to carry it back to Langfords so that they might finish the repair.
    I mean, really? Customer service is an endangered species.

  • First off this plumber was the only plumbing provider in the area that was and quot;on planand quot; for my HSA Home Warranty and was called out for multiple attempts to resolve the issues. The reason this review is being given now is that I just joined the Angie's List service tonight and was amazed to find this provider with an and quot;Aand quot; rating.
    Every attempt to schedule service was an ordeal. Through the Warranty Service program, the contractor was supposed to contact the home owner within 48 hours of an issue being logged; but I always had to follow-up when the window expired because I had not been contacted. Quoted service call times would always be large windows which essentially meant someone would have to burn at least half a day of vacation to wait for the plumber. On more than one occasion, I had to call and find out where the plumber was because they didn't show within the quoted window.
    The plumbers were nice people and stayed late once they did arrive; but the work was not of a professional standard.
    On the first visit, they cleaned up the clogged kitchen sink, which was re-clogged within 3 days. They worked at it more the second time; but that fix didn't last either. On the next visit they said there was really nothing they could do to fix the clogging issue because the drain pipes were not properly sloped beneath the house, so they advised that we pay to have the entire drain system replaced (several hundreds of dollars)
    As for the dishwasher leak, they diagnosed on the first visit that there was just some blockage so they cleaned it up a little and said it should work. On the second visit they diagnosed it as a gasket/seal issue so they ordered a kit of replacement components for the unit. When they installed the replacement kit, they left me with a bag of left-over parts that the service technician didn't know how to install. That was the final straw.
    We ended up calling Roto-Rooter out to look at the problems. He commented that the slope of the drainpipes beneath the house was less than ideal so he really had to work on the kitchen drain line and get a longer tool but he was able to clear the blockage all the way through the system and we have not had a problem in going on 3 years. (Earlier attempts to clear the blockage just pushed the blockage further down the pipe)
    As for the dishwasher, when he looked at the unit and my wife handed him the bag of spare parts, he laughed and asked if the man of the house had tried to do it himself. When told that a and quot;professionaland quot; plumber had been out on multiple occasions on both these issues, he advised that the work we had received was not professional in quality.

  • He told me sometimes even these new parts come in defective and this one was. I was told he would order another and come back to replace the defective one he installed. After 4-5 phone calls to him with messages he never returned my calls nor replaced the defective part.

  • They were priced the best and did a good job. I had also purchased a refrigerator from them 2 weeks ago. The service people were very friendly, professional and punctual. I liked their services and will use the same in future.
