    AARP Medicare Plans
It is new, and so far the plan I have, has been excellent. I have used them since 2009. I am satisfied with everything. The availability is good, I have no problems. The office is old, but the environment is nice.

    Haley, Dr. Donna C
Ultimately, I left Dr. Haley's practice due to a lack of engagement. She was congenial and professional, but she never seemed to have a genuine interest in my well-being. In addition, I didn't actually meet with Dr. Haley in person until after being a patient for two years. Up to that point, I had only met with physician's assistants who did provide good service and care. It was also difficult to get in to see someone on the spur of the moment which I found inconvenient as well.

    Canady, Dr. Sheryl S.
My first impression of Dr. Canady was very favorable. I really liked her. I still think she is a good Dr. However, I think she really needs to hire an office administrator and possibly some more experienced staff. While sitting in the exam room, in front of Dr. Canady, she is great. She is concerned, she seems thorough in her exam, and she has a great personality and bedside manner. There is a saying that goes "out of sight, out of mind" and that has been my experience with Dr. Canady's office (Essential Family Care). Once you leave the exam room, it's like you never existed - there is no follow up or follow thru. I have lab work done for an out-of-state specialist. I went there twice with the written lab order from the specialist. Both times her staff failed to order the correct labs. They were confusing the codes for muscle enzymes with the one for checking kidney function. The second time this happened, I called and attempted to speak with a member of her staff. They were very argumentative. The result being, they thought I should have the specialist look up the codes for them. I have had these same labs done at a local Dr's office since 3/09 and never once had any issues. I think her staff is just very inexperienced. Also, to get the lab results, I had to get in my car and drive over to the office. For some reason, they seemed to always have problems with their fax machine and a couple of times, I think just forgot. Dr. Canady also seems to be out of the office quite a bit. She has no back-up for the times when she's not there. It's great if she's attending classes or seminars but what about patients who need to be seen during those times? I didn't experience any long wait times but I know someone who just left her practice (Essential Family Care) due to long wait times. Several times, he waited for four hours past his scheduled appt. time before being seen. I think the problem is that she schedules walk-ins at the same time she is trying to see patients that have an appt. I really liked Dr. Canady and really hated that things didn't work out. I really think she needs to hire an office administrator. She needs a more experienced staff and I think she needs to make some changes to the scheduling of patients at the same time she's seeing walk-ins...and, she really needs to bring another physician into the practice if she's going to continue being out of the office so much.

    Canady, Dr. Sheryl S.
I find Dr. Canady to be an excellent Dr.
She has a great personality, a great bedside manner. She listens, she shows concern and she takes appropriate steps to determine the cause of your problem. She takes the time to answer questions and listen to and discuss your questions.
She seems to be the best Dr I've seen in awhile - as far as Dr's go, a breath of fresh air.

Always sees me promptly, listens to me, and doesn't pressure me to do what I don't want. A good, kind Christian doctor. Not on most provider networks though.
