    Rico's Expressions Mobile Pet Grooming
    Vickey was wonderful with my special needs cat, Precious, who is totally blind. Vickey was very calming as well as very gentle with Precious, who showed little or no fear. Vickey's fees are very reasonable and I will definitely be using her services again.

    I am disabled. Due to the nature of my disability, I am unable to make morning appointments. When I telephoned to make the appointment I explained this to the office. The office personnel stated they would talk to the groomer and get back with me to schedule an appointment.
    I received a call this morning stating I had an appointment at 0900 ion 26 Aug. I do not cognitively or physically function at 0900 in the morning. appointment was not arranged as requested. I find this behavior to be extremely unprofessional.

    My dog Bailey absolutely loves this place. I work really long hours and don't want to leave her in a crate all day. I take her there a couple days a week and it really helps get her energy out! They also have these cute little report cards that they send home with her to let me know how her day went.

    My dog has a lot of hair and I wanted her shaved really low.They did exactly what I asked for and It came out great. They even put a scarf around her neck (too cute). I was a little nervous because I usually take my dog to one of those chain pet stores for grooming. I decided to try this place out because it was much more convenient and I really ended up liking it. I felt like I got more personal attention that i do at the other places I normally go to. and when they found out that I had just moved to town and didn't have a vet yet they helped my out by referring one to me.

    The staff on the first visit was professional and friendly.  On subsequent visits , the staff was less friendly and less accommodating when scheduling an appointment.  I am disabled and due to the lateness of the hour; the increase in traffic; I was hit by a car when I went to retrieve my dog.

    They are friendly, compassionate and caring. The doctors will personally give you a call you back if you have any questions about your pet rather than the having the secretaries call. I have been using them for many years.

    I have six large energetic babies that I regularly take to Playful Pups. Here they are able to run out their energy without annoying each other. They have several friends, described in their report cards at the end of every day they play. I know the staff love them as they start squealing and barking as we pull into the parking lot...and then drag me through the doors! Even at home when I mention going to "school" they get super excited! The look of happiness on each of their faces both when I drop them off and pick them up relieves me when I leave them; not to mention that they are all passed from exhaustion in my back seat before we reach the house! Each of my dogs has a different personality and the staff pay close attention to that. I appreciate Playful Pups very much!!

    I?ve had wonderful experiences going into the PetSmart store. The grooming salon did a good job with the grooming but the staff there were young girls, and they seemed a bit immature and were quite insensitive to customers with disabilities. I had called to schedule an appointment with them and I explained that I am visually impaired and they understood someone else would be driving me to the appointment. I later called to confirm my appointment, which was the next day at 10:30am. At this time any additional requirements or prohibitions should have been explained while we were on the phone.

    When I got there on time for my appointment the receptionist was cold and not friendly. She was asking me routine questions, and when she asked if my dog was on any medications I advised she was on medication for hyperactivity (prescribed by her vet) and I told them the vet had said I can give her half a Benadryl to calm her down, which I did so she can be calmer during the grooming process. After I told them I had given her half a Benadryl, the receptionist coldly told me they couldn?t groom my dog that day as they couldn?t groom dogs that are sedated. When I verified the vet prescribed this and it?s not a sedative, she was still cold and uncooperative though she knew I didn?t drive myself to the appointment. They said they would have to wait at least four hours before they could begin grooming my dog. I had no choice but to leave her, and the taxi was outside so I left as I had  a few other errands to run (but not enough to keep me busy until 4oclock). I couldn?t afford to have my driver take me back home and back to the grooming salon. When I got to my first errand I called my vet?s office and they called the groomer to explain that an antihistamine isn?t a sedative. When I called my groomer back they said my dog would be ready on time at 2pm.

     I went back to get my dog, and the salon doesn?t have a cash register right in the grooming area, so you have to wait in line at store register. I asked them to assist me as I have trouble with my vision, and they weren?t happy about it. The young girls started whispering and one of the young girls finally came out and she was supposed to be assisting me to get to the cashier. She wasn?t assisting me and instead she was walking approximately 3 feet ahead of me and not even asking me if I needed help or if I?d like to hold on to her. She just didn?t understand what assistance I may need. I asked if she could help me read the screen at the register and sign but she wasn?t able to do that so the cashier helped.

    Then they brought the carrier out to the reception area and I put my dog in the carrier and closed it up. I asked for help to get the carrier out to the taxi and they started whispering that it was too heavy and finally said ?I?m sorry mam but I can?t help you.? I called my driver on my cellphone and he came in to help me get my carrier out even though he?s not supposed to leave his cab running in front of the store. When I got home and settled I called and spoke to the assistant manager of the PetSmart Store (not the grooming salon) and she was very pleasant and she said she would speak to salon about this.  I just want to reiterate that this experience was only with the PetSmart grooming salon, not with the PetSmart store. The staff at the PetSmart store have always been more than helpful and friendly to me every time I go in.

    Now that Playful Pals is in Columbus, I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else! This is the only completely cageless facility in the area (that I know of) that is staffed 24 hours a day. The first time we left our dogs there, we were able to watch videos of them and I had never seen anything like it before. It was a boarding facility that was absolutely quiet! The video showed dogs walking around and occasionally playing as the trainer talked to them while video taping. The environment seemed so much less stressful than the usual kennel-stay. Now, when I pick my dogs up after taking a vacation, they are happy. Also, they are always clean when I pick them up because at Playful Pals, a bath comes with the stay.
