Handyman services
Weeks ago I reached out to K & L for several projects my address was included in the message. I called & used the AL app. They responded quickly & we set a date. When that date came, her husband answered the phone & laughed at being late. He then explained, Krista, his wife, set the appointments. So I called her. No answer. When I text if he could let me know when he was on the way, including my address; I then got a text from Krista- same phone. They could reschedule for 2 days later; today (11/25). I accepted. Exactly 2 hours before showtime; Krista texts they don’t service my area. Either inexperienced; unprofessional or both. Would NOT recommend.
Service Provider Response
First, I want to thank Ms. [Member Name Removed] for considering us for her services that she needed completed. Next, I’d like to explain the situation because her review was not only incorrect, but it was unfair and misleading. Ms. [Member Name Removed] had submitted a quote request for a few small things to be done around her home. I contacted her back with our hourly rate which we provide for odds and ends jobs. I didn’t hear from her for about a week. When we spoke on the phone for the first time, 11/22, I advised her that we had a job going on that my husband would be busy at and that I could schedule her for “next Saturday, 11/30.” I suppose she thought I meant the following Saturday, 11/23 because she called the next day and spoke to my husband and told him that he was late. He knew he had her job scheduled for the following Saturday so he gave her my contact info to speak to me. I work a part time job on the weekends and when Ms. [Member Name Removed] reaches out to me I was working and couldn’t speak to her but I did text her back to let her know I got her call. She expressed that we were late so I responded back letting her know we were scheduled for the 30th and not the 23rd. She didn’t acknowledge that but instead said she needed the work done sooner so I rearranged some things to accommodate her and we scheduled for Monday 11/25 at 2pm. On Sunday, I looked up the address so we could plan the next day and how far away it was and it is over 2 hours from us. It was then that I realized Angie’s List made a mistake with our service area. When we spoke to the man on the phone who enrolled us, we expressed that we didn’t want our handyman jobs to be more than an hour or so away from us. This was my only mistake. I should have looked at her location beforehand. I called her as soon as I realized what happened on Sunday and got no answer. I called her Monday morning and got no answer so I decided to text her. I let her know that she was out of our service area, I apologized for the inconvenience and whatnot. As much as we want our customers to be beyond satisfied and happy, the [Member Information Removed] and travel costs to and from the job would not have even been offset by the few jobs she had for us. I called her to give her a referral and was not called back. Again, I apologized for the inconvenience but that it wasn’t something that we could accommodate. However, for Ms. [Member Name Removed] to give us bad ratings on pricing and quality of service is not fair because the pricing was fine for her when she wanted to use us and she never received services from us so she can’t comment on the quality. I believe our other reviews speak for us, we can also be found on Facebook with wonderful reviews. From now on, I will already check the location of the jobs first. But this review is unfair and misleading.
