AHome Restoration & RepairsA+ RECOMMEND HIGHLY Jessie was prompt, has excellent communication, and all of the work done was exacting. Great craftsmanship, detail oriented. Reasonable pricing. We had a partially demoed bathroom. We needed DRYWALL repair to match existing plaster, prime and PAINTING, a transition from wood floor to tile ( as the previous contractor had left this unfinished), installed PLUMBING fixtures including having to replace part of the waste pipe due to old cast iron and old flange not meeting floor any more ( previous contractor). While here he also performed several HANDYMAN/ Carpentry services for me including constructing a door to our crawlspace, a metal roof to protect our tankless water heater mounted outside, and fixed our gate. He also removed and installed a second toilet in the master bath. A HUGE thank you to Jessie for finishing our project Also, we need a set of handicapped bars for the toilet adapted as the store bought dimensions did not work for our existing floor plan ( too wide). Jessie was able to source it to a welder for us. It is perfect and was very affordable. Made all the difference in making the bathroom functional for our daughter, who is a wheelchair user- Mary C.

ALar Con Construction IncOn November 18, we had an unfortunate mishap at my house. Someone crashed through my garage door, hitting my parked car and slamming it into my load-bearing bathroom wall. My car was trapped in the garage and there was cold air leaking into the bathroom. I will first start by praising God nobody was hurt. And now I will express my appreciation for Lar-Con Construction. Mr. Rowland and his crew were professional and courteous. The excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail given to this project were phenomenal as well as the timeliness in getting the project done. Lar-Con was there on Thanksgiving Week to start the project. The crew showed up when they said they would - every time. They made sure floors and walls were protected while they did their work and cleaned up every day before they left. Mr. Rowland kept in contact with me on this project and was always available whenever I had questions. My new garage door works better than ever. The wall looks like there was never any damage and the bathroom looks wonderful, even better than the original. I would hire Lar-Con Construction again in a heartbeat. This company is now the official builder of my household.- Linda B.

AACM Home RepairsOur house had multiple repair and maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. I had been doing the work myself, but my wife and I decided that we should hire a professional to get the work done faster. We got mulitple quotes from different businesses. Andrew from ACM Home Repairs responded the same day to provide an estimate. It was obvious that he was very knowledgeable about the repairs that had to be done. His quote was ready that same day, and he followed up to see if we had any questions or concerns about his proposal. In the past I have done my own repairs around the house. So, I was concerned about finding someone who would do quality work. We decided to hire ACM Home Repairs. The cost of the work was reasonable, and I was impressed with Andrew’s professionalism, and how he handled his business. Once the work started, any concerns I had were put at ease. Andrew was professional and easy to work with. After each phase of the project, I inspected the work and noticed areas where Andrew had paid attention to the details. I didn’t have any, “Well, I would have done it this way...” moments. It was a good experience. The next time I need work done, I won’t hesitate to call Andrew. I also recommend ACM Home Repairs to other people.- Kyle S.

ADAVE JOHNSON BUILDING & REMODELING INCNot being native Mainers, new to the area and not knowing any contractors or tradespeople in the area, we had several unfortunate experiences in our initial attempts to identify a reliable contractor. As our time spent at the camp was often short and/or sporadic, we needed someone who would show up on schedule (while we were visiting the camp) and get the repairs done on time. Dave did that. As we became more familiar with the quality of the work that Dave and his crew did, we felt secure in knowing that even if we weren't present, the work would still get done correctly. This was a great relief to us. I don't recall Dave ever being late to the site, or the work taking longer or costing more than was originally agreed upon. We found his prices to be extremely reasonable and the quality of the work to be very good. In honesty, I can't find any fault with the services he provided, and we would certainly use his services again (exclusively).- Robert J.

AKDL PaintingI had 4 estimates done and Kevin was a little higher then the rest . the difference was he was more professional very detail with his estimate actually added all the work I was looking for in the estimate. I was not sure if everything was going to get done from the other ones.Even though he was a little higher I decided to go with Kevin because I felt more comfortable with him, that all the work was going to get done. it did take a little longer to get started on the project then we first talked about. once he did get started on it he finished it within the 3 days he told me he would and the the house came out wonderful he did every bit of work he said he would and then some I could not find a flaw in the whole house. the best thing I could say is be patient with him and he is worth the wait he is a busy man and you can't control the weather outside so please be understanding. the house looked great when it was all over.- RHONDA M.

AEverything went well. I wanted to have a nice screened porch on a limited budget, and Wayne was able to work with me to make it happen. I always felt like Wayne was up-front and fair about any costs. He kept me in the loop throughout the process so that I was aware of any trade-offs that would affect quality vs price. I was very pleased with the results.

FIf we could give 0 stars we would! Our experience with Champion was less than stellar. In fact, from the beginning of this process in June until now it has been horrendous. My wife was pressured by a sales rep to make a quick decision because the offer she was given was ending soon. We ordered three full double hung windows at a cost of $4000. We made the deposit of $2000 on June 25, 2020 but our windows were not installed until August 24, 2020 – two weeks later than the date we were promised. Since we are in a pandemic, we understood the possibility of timing issues but were never contacted by anyone at Champion to let us know there would be a delay. We were not given the windows we purchased. We paid for a premium product. The windows we received were the standard product and one of them was cracked. The installer apologized and indicated that someone would return in two weeks to repair the cracked window. We were not satisfied with this and immediately contacted Champion customer service to let them know about the issues. The person we spoke with stated that someone would contact us promptly regarding the problems. We waited patiently for over a week but had no response so we called again without a positive result. We spoke to several customer service representatives but got nowhere. We left numerous messages with no return calls. Finally, after three months of being given the run around, we got a call from a representative who put us in contact with the national customer service rep. This was the week of November 16, 2020. He called us and we were unavailable but called him back as soon as we were able and left a message. His voicemail stated that he had a 24 hour turn around for messages. We called four additional times and left voicemails but we did not hear from him again for five days. The only reason we were able to make contact with him then is because we called customer service – again – and explained our inability to reach him. The person we spoke to worked in the same building and was able to get him to call us back the same day. From the beginning of the call he was very rude. He denied that his outgoing message indicated a 24 hour turn around. He then accused us of blackmail and extortion because we explained that we would be contacting the BBB and other consumer review sites to warn other people how this company operates. We told him that we do not want their product. We want them to take the windows back since they were not the correct product and give us a refund. He said Champion would not honor our request. We even tried to compromise by accepting the incorrect windows for the amount of the deposit we paid since there was a substantial cost difference. He insisted that Champion return and install the correct windows. It took 5+ months to even reach someone to discuss the issues we had with the company. We were not interested in dragging this out any further. We wanted these windows installed before fall so we could renovate the exterior of our home before it got too cold. That project is now on indefinite hold because of the problems we’ve had with Champion. It should not take six months to resolve an issue and we have never dealt with a company that was so lacking in customer service. We reiterated that this situation reflected poorly on the company and asked to speak with someone else in authority, He told us he was the head of customer service and that he was the only person we could talk to about our issues. His exact quote was that he was “the highest of the high in the company” next to the CEO. The conversation became heated and Nick hung up while still talking to him. After this exchange we found the CEO’s information online and reached out to explain our disappointment but never received a response. A few days later we called customer service – again – and indicated that we need a resolution but stressed that we did not want to speak with that particular person. We were directed to the VP of Human Resources. At first we thought she was going to be helpful but as the discussion progressed we realized she was more interested in talking down to us than taking responsibility for their problems. After another heated conversation, she finally agreed that Champion needed to find a resolution that would be satisfactory for us. After ten days we received a phone call from the CS rep. The conversation was more heated and ugly than before. This time we ended the call. Champion Windows is a terrible company. From day one they have exhibited terrible customer service. Had we not contacted them there would not have been any attempts to make this situation right. At this point we have no reason to believe Champion will follow through on any offers to rectify the problem. We are happy to return the windows and get refunded our deposit and to never have to deal with Champion ever again. Buyer Beware!!

FI chose this company based off reviews after my moms roof was damaged in a storm. They assured me they would take care of my moms roof and keep me posted on what was going on because I live in Texas and my mom is in Georgia. It was supposed to be a simple 2 day job that turned into my mother’s worst nightmare. The first day they showed up they they were removing shingles and one of the guys said he lost his footing and broke the ceiling panels on the inside of the home. We said it was ok as long as it was fixed they assured us it would be, so it wasn’t a big deal. when the crew left on the first day they didn’t let anyone know they just randomly left and the roof was just wood no shingles and unfortunately it stormed that night so my mom woke up to water POURING in her home at 3am! It was unbelievable she took a video that I will be posting with my review as well as photos of damage and the poor job they did on my moms roof the 2nd day they said they would fix the water damage but didn’t then broke 5 more of her ceiling panels and thought it was ok to just try to patch it??? Wow and to top it off my moms roof has waves like the ocean and they said it cause she has a older home, that something was bad under the roof and was expensive to fix.... so they never even gave us the option because they assumed we wouldn’t or couldn’t pay just cause it’s a insurance Claim? How this place is I’m business blows my mind. We have given them multiple opportunities and almost 3 months to fix it and all we get are excuses, like they are avoiding us. Very disappointed now we will have to repay someone out of pocket to redo it the right way.
