    The Painting Company
Jose's team was excellent.  They were very friendly and accommodating.  From the bid until the end, they were checking on their team and how we were liking it.  The Painting Company offers a free color consult.  She was excellent and a big help to me.  FYI others charge about $50-$75 an hour.
We were having a floor put in at the same time and were on a time crunch for personal reasons.  They were willing to work at the same time as the floor installers so we could meet our schedule.  This involved them changing their plans for the day (which rooms they were painting...very organized crew) when an issue came up with the floor company.
As for a previous review concerning touch ups...an F rating...I understand where the man who gave the bid was coming from.  They have many awards in addition to their Angie's List rating.  They truly take pride in their work...sometimes hard to find these days.  In my opinion, if you want touch up work...maybe hire a handyman.  I understand they wouldn't want their name attached to a job that would possibly leave two different colors on the wall.
Another review stated they could have paid more attention to detail.  Maybe it had to do with the crew, but not the company.  Ask for Jose's crew.  They paid excellent attention to detail.  Deborah kept us posted throughout the process, asking us questions on occasion to make sure we were getting what we wanted.  When you hire to have a job as big as ours completed, we sometimes miss things we want done.  I added a few things along the way and as I said, they were very accommodating.  No attitude.  It was plain to see they were hard workers and took pride in their job.  Each night they vacuumed and stored their tools in the garage. They even hauled off three very large bathroom mirrors so I didn't have to call bulk pick up and pay.  There's a reason they have an A rating with over 500 reviews!

    The Painting Company
The workers kept us informed of what was going on and wanted to be sure it was to our satisfaction.
The work was scheduled for Saturday and Monday. The only problem was that the workers did not clean up the the half bath from the wallpaper debris or take up the plastic cover in the kitchen and dining areas on Saturday. This was inconvenient having to work around it on the weekend.  They did clean up after completing the work on Monday.

    Acropolis Painting
His first visit, I showed Angelo the room and he quoted $375 for the labor, because the wallpaper had to be removed, drywall prepared and then painted.  He added $25 for moving the furniture, bringing the total to $400.  Moving the furniture back, he broke my bookcase.
When it came time to settle, he did not acknowledge the $99 that I had already paid to Angis List.  He said the bookcase was only worth $20.  Finally, to get him out of my house, I wound up giving him and extra $100, and he still left claiming I owed him an additional $130.  I am on sorry that I didn't withhold the extra $100 I gave him, or give him the option to replace the broken bookcase.
It was a very distressing experience.

    The Painting Company
All 4 bids from various well-reviewed companies came in around the same price. We chose The Painting Company because their price included stripping the wallpaper off 4 bathroom walls instead of painting over it as every other painter suggested. They chose the hard solution for long term gain, not what was easiest for them. Our house was empty at the start of the 5 day job, and we had to move in around the painters on Day 3. They accommodated us wonderfully and never once balked at the annoyance. They did a great job and cleaned up beautifully after themselves. My only complaint is that the walls were all to be matte, and they are all eggshell, but I played a role in that confusion, so it's not surprising, nor did I complain. Walls will wipe down more easily, but show every imperfection in the 20+ year old walls. The job was done well, quickly, and affordably. I'm pleased! Team leader was Alexis who is kind, patient, fluent in English and communicates well.

    The Painting Company
They were great!  They were professional and had a good attitude when they actually had to come back out.  I got 4 estimates and they were the lowest price and actually seemed like they had their act together the most.  They also included an interior designer.  I?d definitely use them again and have already recommended them.

    Grade 'A' Painting
Dustin was extremely professional and responsive throughout the process - from Quote to job completion.   The team arrived on time and prepared to work and there was no time wasted as they quickly covered everything in the areas where they were painting and prepared all of the walls the first day.  The second day a large team showed up and were all over dividing the work quickly and efficiently.   Not only did Dustin complete the work to satisfy my high standards, but when I asked him to increase the scope of work we had agreed on, he gave me a very fair price (he could have really charged me more for the changes I wanted).
Dustin also recommended some changes to the work I was looking to have done which in the long run worked out much better - his expertise really paid off.
Thanks to the whole team for a job well done.

    VERGE Painting, Siding, & Decks
We did have a 10 day delay in getting started due to the loss of a crew, but when they did show up, they showed up to work.  They did not slack off for the whole 3 1/2 days they were in the house.  They always arrived when they said they would.  We have a lot of dust left, but that's to be expected when you have to remove wallpaper in bathrooms.  I loved working with Patty on the colors and the colors look great!  When we went to Sherwin-Williams to get some larger paint samples before they started, the paint salesman took one look at the colors and said 'You must be working with a professional designer on these colors'.  We have used Verge before and we definitely will use them again when we need to have the outside painted.

Reign Down Cleaning & Painting Services
I bought drywall repair Big Deal with Reign Down Cleaning and Painting. We went back and forth to try to find a time when the work could be down and they finally had an opening on January 30th (over a month wait). They were suppose to be here at 9:30 this morning. I worked from home today so that I could be here. I got up early and blocked the dogs off and waited for them to come. No one ever showed up. I didn't receive a phone call or anything. I finally got a response this afternoon saying that they had just gotten into the office because of road conditions. I don't want to wait another month or so to have them come out again so I want the refund and I will try someone else.

    Green Basements and Remodeling
All work was performed well and exactly to specifications.  Project Manager was very professional and attentive to details.  He communicated well throughout the process and always followed up to make sure we were happy with the work being done.  They remodeled bath, bedroom and living room first, then we contracted with them again for the accessible ramp several months later.
My only negative comment concerns the scheduling person in their office.  She was lax about communicating important information to us about scheduling, arrival of materials, etc.  (Hence the "C" rating on responsiveness - this does NOT apply to the Project Manager.
Otherwise I would highly recommend this company and I would use them again.

    Dixon Painting Inc
I was preparing my home to put it on the market and was on a time line to get things done.  This painter was referred to me by a friend that had used them.  I questioned the estimator extensively on their process and was lead to believe they would do a quality job.
    Here's the good:
The guys were nice and friendly, hard workers, people returned phone calls.
They came back several times to try and make the job right and try and address my complaints.  After we had a contract on the house, I noticed that they had not stripped the wallpaper behind the refrigerator or painted.  I called and they did come out timely to do this and did not hold up the sale of the house.
They showed up in the time frame I needed
    Their price was reasonable.
They did send a different crews to do some additional work needed and that work was done correctly the first time.
    Here is the ugly:
Bottom line:  I was not happy with the quality of their work and that is the reason I would not hire them again.
There was a lot of wall repair from the wallpaper removal.  The crew sent had a very difficult time getting the walls smooth.  Some walls were spackled 4-5 times before they were adequate, not great.  It is my opinion, they were not trained well and did not have enough experience doing this type of work.
What the estimator said and what the guys did was not the same. I specifically asked what their paint process was.  The painters did not follow what the estimator said.  The painters were painting the walls but not the trim.  They would paint the wall and then caulk against the trim to get the straight line.  Some times they didn't caulk at all and there were gaps between the wall and the trim.  I talked to the estimator about this and the crew came back out for a full day and fixed the un-caulked areas and painted over the caulk.
They used the garage as a staging area and slopped paint all over the floor.  They left without cleaning it up.  They came back out to clean this up after I complained.
No one from the company really inspected their work or held them to a quality standard.  I was the inspector and the complainer to get the job done to an acceptable level. They had a crew supervisor.  He gave them tasks to do each day and one day he marked places that they should fix but he was seldom around and in my opinion provided little value.  The owner of the company came out one day.  I showed him the tape repair they made in the garage where you could still see the tape lines and his comment was it was a garage.  It was a garage ceiling that I paid $500+ to repair and paint!
I don't know if it was the roller or the way they painted but while the walls were smooth to the touch, they had a textured look to them.  I have never seen this before in a paint job and never want to see it again.  If I had to live there, I probably would have had to repaint some areas to get rid of this.
They did not cover up or seal off the work areas well.  Because of the spackling and sanding, there was lots of plaster dust and it was everywhere. They did not tape off or try to seal rooms to contain the plaster dust.  They were working in my kitchen which was open to the family room.  I had to ask to have the furniture covered up  so the plaster dust wouldn't ruin my furniture and the carpet will never be the same.
The kitchen wallpaper was a bear to get down.  It came off in small shreds. Before they primed the walls they did not wash the walls and make sure they got all the wallpaper off.  I questioned this but was assured that the spackle would cover it up.   It didn't.  The rooms I stripped came out much better then the ones they stripped because I made sure all the paper was scrapped off.  They spackled and sanded some kitchen walls 4 and 5 times trying to get a smooth surface.  When they came out to fix behind the refrigerator, I had them  re-spackle and sand 2 walls again.  They were horrible when the sunlight came in the window.  The painter that came that day agreed they were terrible and needed to be fixed.
I could go on but you have enough to ask questions and protect yourself.
