    Blue Horizons Pools & Spas
Terrible. We were told that we needn't be home, but if we hadn't been, several items contracted for would not have been done. We hired them, even though they were by far the most expensive company, because we expected a good job, worry-free. There was no manager/supervisor for the job - just various work crews. No one took responsibility for the job or quality. There were hidden costs at the end. We were told that someone would come out and finish, but it has been months and no one has. There is no grout or sand between many of the pavers, spilt white globs that do not wash off, unfinished edges... We would never do business with this company again or recommend them. Everyone who has seen the finished job has been shocked. Pictures uploaded.

    Castle Concrete and Contracting LLC
After being on the job for two hours, he decided that he couldn't complete the work unless we were to give him about $1500 more than we agreed upon in our contract. When we refused payment, because I don't have the authority to authorize HOA funds without approval, he told his guys to pack up their stuff and leave as fast as possible without cleaning up. When I called Todd, the president, he said that he hadn't heard from Mike, on the job. Everything started out well, but as soon as they got the money it felt like things changed. I felt like they were pulling a bait and switch.

    Superior Aluminum Installations Inc
This was the worst company I have ever hired! From signing the paperwork it took 3 months just to communicate with us about what was going on with the permitting Process. And then when that finally got approved when the workers came to lay the cement, the truck was late so they decided to go fishing in my back yard, actually remarry the fish instead of throaty them back. Then when this came to install. Try broach the wrong size door after installing almost the whole patio & informing us. So they Senta smaller door & justhlledthe sap with an extra piece of aluminum door communicate would never this company to anyone.

    Ron Hodges Inc
Ron had all the equipment and tools to knock the job out quickly amd safely. He was professional and took extra care not to damage the surrounding home and children's playset. He was the lowest price full service quote and did a better job than I would have expected had I paid for the higher priced quotes. There ended up being a perimeter concrete beam in the slab that he did not charge extra for even though it made the agrred upon job more difficult. Being a contractor, that opportunity is usually what other contractors like to see because it means more money (Change Order). Ron just got out his 14" cutoff saw, cut through the rebar, and continued on. Great work and will call again if I need concrete demo on future projects.

    Orlando Brick Pavers, LLC
First, let me say that our experience with Orlando Brick Pavers was everything we had hoped for and more. We highly recommend them and if your experience with them is as good as was ours you won't be disappointed. Now the specifics...
We checked Angie's List for highly rated companies to consider for changing our driveway from concrete to brick pavers. Orlando Brick Pavers (OBP) was graded highly with good reviews so I decided to include them on my short-list.
I arranged to receive a quote from Orlando Brick Pavers (OBP) and met their representative, Cleber, at my house.  Cleber listened to what we wanted, took the rough drawing I had made of the layout of the driveway and courtyard, measured the area, and told me he would have a quote to me within 24 hours.  He also suggested that once the quote was received, if the price was acceptable, that we go to the OBP office location and view the samples at their showroom.
My wife and I met Luciene at the showroom location.  Within five minutes of meeting Luciene and talking with her I knew we would be going with OBP.  Luciene is all business and knows what she is talking about.  Her suggestions as to color, style, layout, etc. made sense to us.  She explained the process, need for permits and required marking before they dug, and termite bond requirements; things we hadn't thought about.  Luciene impressed us as extremely competent and gave us sense of assurance that they knew what they were doing, were experienced at it, and had been doing it for a long time. She didn't try to sell us on their product. She only informed us of the process, our options, and made recommendations for us to consider. We made our decision to go with OBP, picked our colors, our style, signed the paperwork and scheduled work to start in two weeks.
The week of installation everything went like clockwork.
TUESDAY: The city permit people came by to mark water pipe locations.
WEDNESDAY: The buried cable marking people came, the demo crew arrived to remove and haul away our old driveway and sidewalk.
THURSDAY: The pavers arrived at 8:30am; 10:30am the prep crew began prep, removed bushes, rocks, roots, etc.; and the base material arrived. The install crew began laying down the base for the pavers. The crew worked until 7pm and had three quarters of the driveway done before they left.  This included burying the roof gutter drain downspouts and capping affected sprinkler heads before laying down the pavers.
FRIDAY: The crew arrived at 8:30am, laid all of the remaining pavers, cleaned up all construction debris and trash, old bushes, etc., washed down the pavers, house, and sidewalk finally leaving at 5:30pm, done.  I watched these guys work and they stopped only for lunch.  They work every minute.  They know what they are doing and they do it well.
The final product is EXACTLY what we wanted and we could not be more pleased.  We found them very easy to work with and very accommodating.  I can honestly say that my wife and I have ZERO complaints and are totally satisfied.  We highly recommend these folks!

    Castle Concrete and Contracting LLC
Before looking on Angie's list, I contacted 3 local concrete companies to get quotes on this job. One refused to do it at all saying they didn't take jobs this small. Another never called back and the third missed two appointments and then finally quoted a ridiculously high price.
I contacted Brogan Concrete because they have stellar reviews on Angie's List. I now know why. The owner, Todd answered the phone and was at my house the very next day. He was friendly, professional and very honest. He even gave me suggestions on some work that I might find cheaper by using someone else.
A few days later, Michael and another employee arrived to do the job. They explained everything to me in detail and asked if I had any questions. I had to leave for an appointment while they were working, but returned home in the afternoon to find the job complete. It looks wonderful.
Both Todd and Michael called that evening to check on their work and ask if I was happy. It is very clear that they take great pride in what they do and strive to please their customers. I highly recommend this company and will most certainly use them again.

We were very happy with the overall "experience" of working with Brogan Concrete.  Even though we didn't consider the effort a rush job, Brogan VP Michael Joseph came to collect information for an estimate on the same day we called and then provided two alternative quotes two days later.
We signed an email contract and scheduled the concrete repairs for a convenient date two weeks later.  They showed up 7:30a the morning scheduled, started work and completed the whole effort in one day.  They showed up for clean-up the next day and marked the repaired areas with cones and tape to prevent accidents during the concrete drying period.
We would certainly use Brogan Concrete again and will be recommending them to our friends and neighbors.

Marc's Pool Co., Oviedo, Fl, 32765
He poured the patio in a reasonable time frame but he did not meet the specifications for the project. He only poured a 31' by 13.5' patio, plus a small approximate 3' X 4' adjacent pad, vice the full pad that was contracted for. Further he did not notify the owner that he was making any change. That portion of the work he did do was quite acceptable but what he did not do was unsatisfactory! Moreover, he did not adjust the original price he quoted and would not rebate any portion of the price after the owner notified him of the problem and after he said he would provide a rebate. He refused to make any adjustment at all after he said he would nor would he pour the remaining portion of the patio to resolve the matter. He proved both unprofessional and unresponsive in the final analysis!

Let Brice Do It Concrete & Pavers
Brice just finished the patio and bench wall and I could not be more pleased. I found that my experience mirrors all the positive reviews I had read on Angies List when I was researching companies to do this project. I got 4 quotes and Brice provided not only the lowest cost but he offered the most in what services he provided for my money including the creating a corner that is a half semi-circle and the decorative bench wall. His price also included preparation of the area which included a signifiicant amount of work having to take out hedges and other land scapping, not just clearing grass. All the other companies had an additional charge to do it or I had to do this myself. As far as the experience with him he was always timely, professional and his quality of work is at a very high degree. I also appreciated how well he communicated with me when there are issues and obstacles like delays due to the weather (and it has been raining alot in central Florida). Despite that Brice did a great job in handling everything and finishing the project in a very timely manner. Going forward I would not hesitate to use Brice again as well as recommend him confidently to freinds and family. Brice if your reading this please feel free to use me as a reference and display any pictures of our patio on your Facebook Page.

    Metro Flooring & Cabinets
Tony, Diane, and their son are very nice people.  They were very helpful and patient in helping my wife pick out her materials for this major renovation.  All the floors and both bathrooms were renovated.
I am very pleased with the tile floor. It looks amazing. I've not found a hollow tile or a miss aligned grout line.  If I had another tile floor I'd not hesitate to call Tony and Diane and ask for David again.  I am providing recommendation on tile floor and carpet work as this appears to be a specialty and they subcontracted an excellent installers for the floor.
There is only one thing I can object to about with the floors.  The final clean up work.  Nobody ever never told me it was my responsibility to clean the floors when the job was completed. Metro expected me to clean the floors of all the excess grout left behind on the floor and in the door jams. This is finish work I assumed I contracted to be done.  I ended up having to pay Sahara Carpet $450 to come scrub the floors with a machine to get them clean. We just couldn't get them clean after mopping with both a sponge and rag mop. We even tried getting on hands and knees with buckets, scrub brushes, and towels.  The only thing that got them clean was a scrub brush and I wasn't going to do that by hand. I've also had to purchase a special $100 saw to remove the grout from under the door jams and is my next weekend project.  Blobs of grout in all the doorways is unacceptable as a way to finish such an amazing floor. They should be caulked and painted like the baseboards.
The bathrooms came out gorgeous. We love them and matched our vision completely. Tony worked with us to get the glass block just right. The material is amazing quality and they just are so elegant. Tony was extremely responsive when I objected to one of the materials his contractor was starting to install. They took it out and started over. While the backing material is a modern product I'm a little old fashion and wanted cement board.  Tony took care of the objection immediately and the bathroom work continued.
Again the final finish work was given to me as my responsibility.  There were several issues, some of which was missing grout. While Metro Flooring took care of what I pointed out, I expected Metro Flooring to inspect and have the contractor finish the work before asking to be paid. I've paid Metro Flooring and they have moved on.  The travertine soap dishes and shelves in the showers still lack the grout.  Again my only complaint is the final finish work is something they expect me to manage.
Be aware Metro Flooring wants you to be the quality assurance person. They do not supervise and inspect the work.  Only provide the materials and handle paying the contractor.  If you are looking for a proactive merchant that does the final inspection themselves and has the knowledge to see the obvious, this is not Metro Flooring. But if you want a good price, great materials, awesome advise, have your vision transformed to reality, Tony and Diane are you people.  Realize my complaints are small and picky, but I really thought turnkey was a theme at Metro and finish is the final touches that screams quality.
Use Metro Flooring for floors. They don't know showers and tubs.  Be aware they want you proactive in managing the work so make written lists and have them knock them off as they go. This is a good business but I'd not use them again. I want the person I contract to do the job, including the supervision of the subs and to handle quality assurance to their satisfaction before asking me to do a final walk through and pay the final payment.  These are major flaws in final workmanship, not just a few picky things, that I've been paying others to correct.
