Lighting Installation reviews in Winter Park

hired them to repair landscape lighting. When Keylin S. arrives, he said it would be $50 a half hour, with a 1-hour minimum and a $35 trip charge. He finished in 30 minutes, found the problem but said he didn't have time to correct the issue that day and would need to come back. He said the estimate would be $235 because he expected 2 hours. I had him come back, he corrected the problem in an hour. I expected to pay $135 for it, but he said it was $235 because that was the estimate. It wasn't made clear it was a fixed price job. If it was, I would have negotiated it like it was. When I discussed this with him he said that it was fixed price vs. what we had discussed on day 1. Their business practices are suspect since the repair could have been made on the first day. The second estimate was not clear that it was a fixed price vs. what he told me on the first trip. The problem was corrected but I would not use them again due to the deceptive approach. Buyer beware.

    All Phases Electrical Contracting Inc
Corey and Eddie were professional, friendly and worked efficiently. They explained why and what they did when I asked questions. I'll ask for them when I need more electrical help. They worked for about 3.5 hours..

    Sebastian Home Improvements LLC
Great! We had half of a wall removed to open up a room and a counter put in on top of the remaining half wall. Sebastian also installed pendant lights above this new bar area, and we get compliments all the time on this area. His work is so seamless and clean that people can't believe a wall was ever there!

Sebastian was very helpful and patient with our demands. His work is pure perfection, and it shows. I like Sebastian in that he also uses quality products when working. His European background shows in his work, in that it will last forever. If your looking for an experienced & trustful guy, hire Sebastian.

    Kitchen Crafters Inc
The Kitchen Crafters' team was very professional, efficient and helpful. They also kept the house clean as we were still living in it while renovations took place. Jim was easy to work with, very responsive to our questions, and even helped identify a flooring company to replace our tile floors with beautiful hardwood throughout most of the house. The team worked quickly (were done in about 6 weeks) and we were amazed at how fast they had worked. Jim and his team made helpful suggestions to the design of the kitchen when we needed direction. When we discovered a defective under-counter light after the project was finished, Jim came by to replace it very quickly. The kitchen was a key selling point when we recently sold our house. We would definitely recommend working with Kitchen Crafters.

    Sebastian Home Improvements LLC
The work went very well. I am thrilled with the result. I especially liked how Sebastian involved me in decisions that needed to be made along the way. For example, when doing the electrical work, he suggested that two outlets be installed underneath the wall cabinet, which he said he could easily do when he was working on the wiring for moving the light fixtures. This was an excellent idea, and one that I would not have thought of. We agreed on the exact placement which allowed me to give input on how I envisioned using the space and determined the best placement for easy access,. This is just a small example of the many decisions that we made together. I am very very happy with my new bathroom. I love the quality of SHI's work. Sebastian takes the time to do things right. The project did take longer than I anticipated, but the result was worth the additional time. I would definitely hire SHI again. Although I do not have any more large remodeling projects to do, I will definitely use SHI for other things as they come up. And, owning a home means there are always projects coming up.

    Varney's Construction Inc
If you are looking for the best contractor for the job, Bill Varney and Varney's Construction is the best possible solution; their prices came in at the best and I know the other bidders would have gone well over their bids. Bill and his team are thoughtful, hard-working, good to their word, and exceptional at getting the job done right. See pictures of how they transformed my kitchen below. My summary points of why I really liked them are below for review.
***1. Bill has a meticulous eye for detail and design. Even after my final payment to him, he was still making suggestions on things to run by me such as stainless steel switch plate covers (and considering what type of bar stool design I should think about buying). We completed the contract last week with all money paid and he is still coming out this week on his own (not by my request either) to fix something "that was bothering him and to do one more little touch-up." If that doesn't speak to being good to your word and loyal to perfection on your project, I don't know what does.
***2. He and his company are flexible with your preferences and adapt to your desires. He's great at taking a picture in your mind and actually making it happen.
***3. Open to your ideas but has the sense to tell you nicely when something might look bad. He saved me from a couple possible bad design choices.
***4. He has an excellent knowledge of structural options. I had to remove a load-bearing wall and he was the only 1 of 6 contractors that said he could actually recess it into the roof trusses so that it wouldn't be seen versus having a rafter/beam running through my kitchen (either the others didnt know how it could be done or they didnt want the hassle). Either way; he and his team arent afraid of hard work and they do it the right way the first time.
***5. His network of specialists (if needed) are inexpensive and do exceptional work (i.e. architects, engineers, etc.). They also show up fast to do the work (2-4 days of him calling them). I had to do a roof penetration for the kitchen which was outside of our arrangement and it only cost $450 (Winter Park prices come in at about $750+ to do this type of thing). He also had an engineer/architect sign off and do the plan for the structural changes (removal of the load-bearing wall, etc. for the permit) within a matter of days and it was half of what I found elsewhere for getting an architect/engineer approval on a structural change for City approval.
***6. He and his team work extremely well with the City of Winter Park on permitting. The City of Winter Park/Planning Division was really impressed with the quality of his work and commented on how he went above and beyond what was necessary for their inspections.
***7. He and his team passed all inspections the first time (electrical, mechanical, plumbing I had the works including bringing in higher Amp line from outside to accommodate the greater electricity usage).
SUMMARY: Varney Construction was the best deal money-wise, had the highest quality work, and finished the job without any effort or hassle on my end. I cannot recommend enough!

    Quantum Electric LLC
He was very patient in explaining why I couldn't just assume that my present wire would work. I know little or nothing about electricity so he really had to make the explanation simple. He didn't leave any mess behind.

Jose did an amazing job.  He came first for an estimate and also to figure out all the supplies he needed once I approved the repairs.  He came back for the appointment as we scheduled and had supplies ready to go.  He spent a hot day in the sun replacing the faulty subpanels, but they look great now.  I also surprised him by asking if he could also install recessed lights and he added that on the fly, no problem.  I couldn't be happier with his work and I feel safer knowing he fixed my electrical problems.  Everything is working very well and I know I'll be calling him again in the future for additional electrical needs.
