  • They were scheduled for a Wed install. Heard noise on the roof on Monday they were starting the install. Nobody notified us of the change of date. Nobody knocked on the door and said were here to work on the house. After less than two hours they left. Never said a word Figured they were out for lunch. Never came back. I called the office the next day to ask what was going on. Apparently an employee quit and walked off the job on my house. Reschedule for another day. They came several days later and finished the install. So our first rain today since the gutters were installed. Water pouring out of the seams. Just left a message to get them back to seal the seams.

  • I would recommend Dynamic to family and friends and they did do a great job overall but we did have a couple of things come up that I will mention later.  Our estimator was punctual and professional. He did a great job going over all the options and materials.  We ultimately chose Dynamic because of the professionalism of their estimator not the price as they were not the cheapest option.  We chose them because we felt with this being such a big and costly project we wanted someone that would get the job done. 

    The workers were punctual and professional.  They were no nonsense and hardworking and did a great job.  We couldn?t be happier with the finished product.  There were many pieces of plywood that needed to be replaced including a point on the well house that was completely rotted out.  They got the job done in 3 long days even with all the added work.  So this brings me to the issues that came up.  On the first day out the foreman told us that we had double layer of shingles and so it would be much more work to remove.  We knew about the double shingles and were pretty sure Dynamic knew too.  It was pretty obvious.  At first Dynamic was very proactive and the owner of Dynamic came by to introduce himself and mention about the double shingles. I told him we were aware of the double shingles and thought the estimator was too but that I wasn?t the one that negotiated the contract so I am unsure what was discussed.  He said he would get with the estimator and get back to us.  I was very pleased at the owner stopping by to see how the project was going.  However, when we didn?t get a phone call back I assumed that he spoke to his estimator and it was included in the original price.  The other issue that came up was that the roofers unintentionally hit our ac coolant line.  So our AC wasn?t blowing cold air anymore.  This was on the last day of the job and we didn?t realize it was even related to the roofing until the ac repair company came out.  They couldn?t reach the spot on the line to weld it so had to run a new line.  We spent the night in the heat because the ac company needed to get some materials. We are aware that hitting the line was not intentional so we don?t really hold it against them.

    On the next morning the owner of Dynamic as well as the estimator came out just as the ac was getting repaired.  They came to review the final cost of the job.  I think they handled the ac issue beautifully and gave us a credit for part of the cost.  Since in our contract they can?t be liable for every possible issue; we were okay with this.  There was extra cost for all the plywood; which we knew we would incur and when you sign the contract they give you a price for each sheet of additional plywood. Of course you don?t know how much will need to be replaced until the shingles are off.  What caught us off guard was the extra cost of removing the extra layer of shingles. When the owner came to discuss it and never called us back we thought there was no issue.  This is why we gave them a B on professionalism.  We feel a call back would have prepared us a little more. They explained that it was much extra work and we agree it was.  I just don?t know how they didn?t know it was a double layer.  Since we couldn?t be sure we discussed it with the estimator we came to an agreement and settled the bill.  I think it was fine in the end even if it was a little higher than we had budgeted.  They did a great job.  The only thing I really would have liked was a call back later that day after he checked with the estimator. Saying the double roof is in fact an issue and will affect the price.

  • Took a few days for them to call me back to set up an appointment for a quote but once they did they came out the same day they called. John answered all the questions I had and even came out a second time to meet with us because, after receiving several other quotes that were thousands of dollars over his quote, we were concerned there was a problem with his quote. Again, he came out the same day I called him. We signed the paperwork right then and was told it would be 2-3 weeks before they could start the job. This was the standard wait time for the other roofers we called so we were fine with that. At about the 2 week mark I called the office twice within a 24 hour period because I realized that John had not written our color choice on the contract. Still, not a big deal, but I wanted them to be prepared. I did not receive a call until a week later when Buddy called to tell me they would be starting the roof the next day. Luis and his crew came out on schedule and stayed until the roof was completely finished. Even though it was almost 7pm on a Friday night, they stayed until the clean up was done. They blew off my porches, walked around the house at least twice to make sure they didn't miss any trash and even helped me throw a few of my personal items in their dump trailer. When Buddy came out a few days later to pick up the check and deliver the lein waiver, he even did some extra work on my chimney (no fault of his workers) and refused to take any extra payment. As mentioned in other reviews, if you can get over the lag in return calls from the office, they are a great company to do business with. My only suggestion is, when calling the office number, leave a message for your sales person or Buddy. Thank you John, Buddy and most of all Luis and his crew for a great job.

  • Julie Broadwater, the owner of Gutter Doctor, was responsive when called for inquiries. In addition to reading the many reviews on Angies's List, I had researched gutter products, manufacturers, and the methods of installation as well, and had many questions based on my research.  Without hesitation, Julie took the time to thoroughly and satisfactorily answer all of my questions and provided a wealth of additional information as well.  Just prior to being engaged for the job Julie emailed us photos of gutter systems that she had installed in our community, as I had requested, and copies of critical documents, such as her county license and insurance certificates.  When we met, Julie walked the entire house with us explaining where and how gutters, downspouts and other components of the system would bew installed.  We also walked to other homes where she had installed gutter systems; she pointed out the flaws in gutter systems installed by others and explained how she would improve upon their installation.
    On the day of installation a two member crew arrived promptly and politely introduced themselves.  They completed the work in approximately 5 hours.  The men worked cleanly, neatly and very professionally.  The gutter system is beautiful and enhanses the appearance of our home. We highly recommend Gutter Doctor toanyone who is contemplating the installation of a gutter system.  We are extremely pleased with the entire experience.  Thanks so much for a job completed in the most professional way, Gutter Doctor!

  • We are very pleased with the work performed by Affordable Roofing Systems.  After a bunch of research, including Angie's List, we invited 6 companies to visit and supply information and estimates.  From the first visit by Affordable's Dan Klosicki to our home, through phone calls from and to the Affordable office, close contact with Tony and his hard working installation team, and a visit and installation inspection from the owner's son Dustin, it was obvious to us that we made the right choice when we selected Affordable Roofing Systems.
    After introductions Dan started his visit up on the roof to measure and examine the existing roof structure.  We then talked about the various products available.  He knows the products and the roofing business and was able to answer all of our questions as the presentation progressed.  Very low key and informative presentation by Dan which ended on a very happy note for me when Dan told my wife and I to take our time deciding and that the prices he had offered on his visit would be available whenever we made up our minds to go with Affordable.  No pressure, just facts.  Dan was extremely professional, polite, knowledgeable and friendly and it was a pleasure having him in our home.  He called throughout the process to ensure that we were satisfied with the work being done and to help us obtain various discounts.  Dan set the positive tone that existed throughout the entire project.
    Tony's installation team arrived at least 15 minutes early on each of the scheduled work days, and after covering landscaping around the house, were on the roof and working within minutes of their arrival.  All my life it has been a pleasure to work with and to be around people that know and enjoy what they do.  Tony's team are well trained, experienced roofers that put in a full day and seem to enjoy what they do.  They kept me informed from start to finish of the project identifying and showing me damaged wood as it was discovered and keeping me informed about how the work was progressing.  They answered all of my questions that often included showing me pieces of the various products they were using to help me understand what was being done.  They used the new Florida code required nails to fasten the deck to the trusses, took pictures of the damage they found and repaired, used 6 nails per shingle, trust me I heard every nail, and cleaned up the work area each day before they left.  The installation team was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, hard working and willing to keep me informed on project progress.  They photographed all of the damage and repairs to the deck and structure for use with the Florida wind mitigation inspection that I've submitted to my insurance company for discounts.  From covering the landscaping on the first day to the final clean up on the last day it was a pleasure to be around Tony and the installation team.
    Dustin, the owner's son, visited once during the installation to check on progress and begin inspection and again a couple of days after the work was complete to do the final company inspection, and to deliver the final invoice, warranty paperwork, and wind mitigation inspection forms complete with color photos for submission to my insurance company for discounts.  He also helped me prepare the paperwork to receive a discount from the manufacturer of the shingles and other products installed on the roof.  The day I paid the final invoice all work was complete including the final company and county inspection and I had in hand all of the paperwork I needed to apply for various manufacturer and insurance discounts.
    Additional information:  The estimate I received from Affordable Roofing Systems was the second lowest out of the 6 that I received.  A price list of wood products that might be required to repair any damage discovered during the work was attached to the contract I signed so there were no surprises.  I was shown the wood damage as it was discovered by the installation team so I could verify what was being replaced.  The damage was extensive but I feel confident that all of the damage was discovered and repaired and I now have a roof that is stronger than the original.  Affordable has liability insurance and workman's comp on their employees.  I confirmed this information with the Florida Workman's Compensation folks.  There are two sets of Angie's List reviews for Affordable Roofing Systems, Affordable Roofing Systems and Affordable Roofing Florida.  The contact information is the same for both sets of reviews and from what I see on Angie's List it is the same company.  Replacing a roof in Florida is expensive because of building code changes as a result of past storm damage.  Take the time required to do your research and make an informed decision.

  • Julie and her team are pros.  I got three estimates, and the Gutter Doctor was very competitive.  Julie visited to explain ho  they would do the job, the materials and methods that they would use, and listened to my concerns.  The job went without a hitch.  Gutter Dr. personnel were all company employees, very experienced, and knew their job.   I would use them again, no question.
