    Elgut, Dr Noel L
Fantastic!! - we had just come off a horrible 3 time experience with another eye institute ( you'll recognize my review on them here  on Angie's list, when you read it)
This was night and day after previous experience with that other provided   - Really great doc, super nice and competent staff, and very well run office.  Didn't wait long, processed mom through and they understood the visual issues related to mom's  dementia/alzheimer's/
Her eyes are OK, but her brain does not process visual information well  due to the disease damage. Dr. Elgut and his staff understand how this works,  other eye doc don't really get it. This is the 3rd eye doc in 3 years  we have seen since we moved to Broward from Miami, finally, we have a great eye doc for mom. Our search is at last, over.

3 strikes and you are out!  This was our 3rd try with this place. If you have an appointment, expect to be sitting  in the waiting room for at least 1 +1/2 hours. If you have someone with dementia or other issues that is easily agitated and gets anxious waiting. Go elsewhere.
After the first disaster of waiting more than 90 minutes, we tried to go a second time  for follow up and called ahead , told the staff the situation and that Debbie Rand herself had given us instructions to call ahead and she would coordinate and expedite (we were ok with waiting at home until shortly before they would be ready for us) . They told us to come in. We waited over and hour - mom was climbing the walls, so we left. Debbie Rand called and asked that we return and they would get her right in, so we turned around, Mom had calmed and we got through the appt.
The 3rd time, as per instructed , I called and spoke to Debbie Rand directly at 12:30, prior to leaving  for the office  for a 1:30pm appt.
Debbie asked me to hold and call her back in 30 minutes, called back at 1pm, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45 and 2pm, but Mrs. Rand was not answering her page according to the receptionist. So we sat around at Moms' Assisted living facility for 2 hours instead of the office, but never connected to Ms. Rand no one called us back and the we never went to the office for this appointment.
We have since found another Eye doc who is great , fantastic staff and well run office. We had to wait about 15 or 20 minutes as they got moms info in the system(we had filled out the intake paperwork before we went), but everyone was on the ball, they handled mom with kit gloves and understood her complicated visual issues that are related to her alz/dementia.
We should have given up Rand Eye Institute after the first try, lesson learned. They were a very bad fit for mom's needs

we ran late because they had called and moved our appt up 15 minutes and also rush hour traffic and we didn't get the message. They wanted us to reschedule which I was unwilling to do since it's 45 minute drive. So we had to wait until all the other patients were seen but they was better than having to make another trip. Doctor is great with kids. I would use this doctor again

Dr. Nick is amazing. His office is clean and has the latest technology. He won't try to sell you on things you don't need. He always runs on time and has the best personality. I truly enjoy my visits with him and highly recommend his practice.

Surgery went well, can see better than I have in over 20 years and my eyes are still healing.  Staff is very nice and they explain everything so you can understand.  Only negative is that they overschedule for all appointments, so typically have to wait. I had an appointment at 7:45 am one day and they were already running behind. Overall it is worth the wait, just bring something to do.

    Zeigler, Dr. Timothy J.
He is extremely professional and he really cares for his patients. He worked with me to find a prescription combination that works where I can see very well far away and I can actually read without putting reading glasses over the contact lenses and he took the time and the trouble to that. He is not just into selling glasses; he is very much involved with his patients. His practice is very professional and they are very honest. His staff is very nice and polite as well.

    Shaffer, Dr. Alan
I contacted Dr. Shaffer because my RGP contact lens was stuck under my right eyelid. I could not remove the lens on my own, and I called his office first thing in the morning, and they took me right away. I ended up having a very thorough eye exam and ordering another lens from him. After a few months, I had the same problem with my lens and it was attributed to the fit of the lens. Dr. Shaffer resolved the problem again and ordered me another lens. After a few subsequent visits, he tweeted my lens and his staff recommended another cleaning regimen which worked better with my contact lenses.

    Klein, Dr. Paul
I have been using him for years. He is pleasant. He uses the state of the art technology and equipments. I usually can get in right away and they have a little bit of funky schedule though. His staff is excellent. I would rate him very highly.

He is used by the state and other authorities as far as eye care healthcare. He testifies on behalf as a subject matter expert. When it comes across his care he really knows what he is talking about. He really goes the extra mile even if he has to bring me in several different times to try out contacts or to try out prescription. He is not one of those people who is quick in and quick out. He really takes his time with me. I have insurance through work. He has always been participating in that program so I have used him luckily for many years now.

    Ebmeier, Dr. Pamela
One reason I continue to go to her is that she was able to refer me to a specialist (neuro-opthalmologist) who ultimately diagnosed a potentially life threatening condition that got resolved. Had I not gone to her and had she not attended a conference where she heard this doctor speak, I don't know if I would have had as successful an outcome. I had already been to many doctors who were unable to diagnose my condition. Her ongoing research resulted in knowing where to send me to get help and I am forever grateful.
