  • However, if we want to speak to a nurse or doctor during office hours, there is usually a wait on hold and then often an answering machine. We do like the opportunity to e-mail the specific person, but often don't get an answer for 1-3 days.
The check-in process leaves a lot to be desired and uses up lots of unnecessary paper. Recently computer kiosks have been installed for self check in.
The most important reason we try to have all our doctors at Cleveland Clinic is that the medical staff is excellent.

  • We use Cleveland Clinic. I use them Monday. I went there for my allergies. I go to my general pracitioner, cardiology, I mean, they're all there. In general, my complaints about them is that it's very hard to get a hold of a doctor and the appointment process isn't handy. I will use them again.

  • My visit:

Very nice, pleasant office. Staff smiled and made me feel good.  Dr.Cooper, after listening to my complaint numbed my nose and throat and inserted a camera to see into my throat.  It was painless and he was reassuring speaking in very calm soothing voice.

The visit went very well and I was happy.  That's why I took my daughter to him.

    Her visit:

The office was still nice. However, this time Dr. Cooper came across as arrogant.  He said there was no structural reason for my daughter's nose not to breathe, gave her nose spray and said to come back.  The nose spray was not effective at all. I still feel there is structural reason for nose passages to close up when my daughter lies down.

Why I said he was arrogant:

When I mentioned to Dr. Cooper that I opted to treat my daughter's allergies in a holistic way (which worked very effectively, the only thing that remained was that the nose passages close down when she lies down), he became very high and mighty and in  front of my 11 year old said that all that holistic stuff is bogus.  "You know it doesn't work, don't you?"  Well, I know the opposite.  If he felt that way, he should have never voiced it especially in front of an impressionable child.

I am going to a different ENT.

  • Prior to the surgery he had all the required support from nurses, doctor and all staff. They have some renovated rooms, and we were lucky to get one of those. The new rooms are very nice, some with Central Park view, but you share the room with someone else who also just delivered.
In our case, the only complain was for the night nursery staff in the second day, as they didn?t provide all the support and assistance my wife required  taking too long to be in the room to help with medicine and feeding the baby.

  • Dr. Solomon is one of the best. I travel a half hour to go see here. She was able to get me off of synthetic HRT and onto bioidentical, which changed my life for the better. She is VERY knowledgeable and has picked up on another issue I was having and got me pointed in the right direction for care. She has even been in Prevention magazine. I have recommended her to numerous friends/colleagues and they have started seeing her as well.

  • He put me on allergy shots for over a year. I had to drive once a week from Weston to Plantation to get the shots. They never explained to me that I could do these shots myself instead of making the journey every week. I do not feel they really worked after so much time, effort and money.

He did treat me for a very serious sinus infection which he and the physician's assistant handled very well.

I have since been to another ear, nose, throat doctor who resolved my allergy problem immediately with a minor office procedure. I am sorry I spent so much time and effort on the allergy treatments with Dr. Tartell.

He has a lot of on-site equipment, but I feel he over uses it to bill the insurance companies extra. Many times I refused the CT scan. Also when you arrive at the office, you will not be seen until you settle up your bill with the receptionist who can be snippy at times.

I also requested to have my medical records to be sent to the new doctor. They informed me that I had to pay $1 per page. I do not know if it was going to be $15 or $100. They would not say. After I agreed, they took so much time to get the paperwork together that I cancelled the request because the new doctor had already treated me. They also charged me $25 for the results of my CT scan. This traditionally is a free service.

  • I would recommend this minimally invasive procedure (turbinate coblation) if you have trouble with respiration at night. I am no longer stuffed up due to my allergies and can get sound sleep instead of waking up to unblock my nasal passages

  • I would rate my visit as one of the best life choices I've ever made! Dr. Trentacoste discussed many vision options with me and we finally decided that cataract surgery would be the best option for my condition. The surgery gave me back my quality of life for continuing to play sports and everyday activities. The office staff was great, especially his appointment scheduler. I can not sing enough praise for Dr. Trentacoste! I have refered everyone I know to his office!

  • They have great doctors. They are very thorough and they are very good with calling ahead and sending reminders. The office is very technologically up to date and they have a waiting room for people having surgery. They have a screen updating progress and the employee in charge of the room would take you back or update when needed. The doctors are excellent with follow up. The facility is very well ran. They have a buzzer that they hand you in the waiting room to alert you of any status updates when going to be with someone for surgery.

  • I spent many years trying to find a good primary care Doctor with many disappointments. I was glad to finally find a good one in Dr. Smets.
I have been with Dr. Smets for approx. 5 years. He is an excellent Primary Care Doctor. He takes the time to explain things to you.
I have had to go to specialists for a number of issues and Dr. Smets explained to me what he saw as the issue prior to me visiting the specialists. He has always been spot on. His knowledge is extensive and he is not shy about sharing it.
I recently had surgery and went back to the surgeon for follow ups to deal with post surgery issues. I was not satisfied with the surgeons explanations so I went to Dr. Smets who explained why I was experiencing the after effects of the surgery. I felt much better after leaving his office.
I see a Primary Care Doctor as a consultant for your Health and Medical Issues and Dr. Smets is top notch for this.
