Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I had a big project with these people, and whole-heartedly recommend them. There were of course problems to be sorted out, which we did. The bit strength they have for which I am grateful as a customer is that they continued work on my project without interruption, they didn’t disappear to cover other jobs as other contractors are known to do.

  • Alan Monette is not only a talented craftsman but he is an honest and genuine businessman. His team is fantastic!! Very respectful, clean, and punctual! They show up when they say they will be there and they stay and work a full day.

After a few other Contractors that did not work out, we lucked out and are so glad we met Alan. Actually the way we came to know him is he had to help and correct a repair from another contractor we used. He takes great pride in his work and cares about his customers. Upon meeting him, I instantly knew he was the real deal. I became very disillusioned with General Contractors after a few very bad experiences. Alan reinstated my faith and belief that there is good honest people out there with integrity.... He might be one of the few but there is nobody I trust more with my home and family than Alan. I will never look for anyone else for anything. He is my main goto for everything! Alan has helped me design my home and turn into a Dream Home. When we bought it back in April it needed a lot of work -

I am so happy how everything is coming together, and very grateful for how pleasant, seamless and easy Alan has made renovating my home for me. I highly recommend him! Alan is the BEST of 'THE BEST'

Highly Talented, Affordable, Honest, Professional....Are the only words I will use to describe him!

I am an extremely happy customer and highly recommend him!

  • The team had to gut close to 85% of my house.  This required ripping out the kitchen and floor throughout the entire downstairs, stairs and upstairs hall.  Our masterbath had to be gutted and the master bedroom carpet had to be ripped out.  Along the way, we found another leak in one of our upstairs bathrooms.  That needing gutting as well.  Long story short the guys put everything right.  They were consistent and always showed up.  This job took about 6-8 weeks to complete.  Lowe's quoted us 6 months to do the entire job.  So, I am so glad we went with GBTC.  I would and have recommended them to everyone I know and would absolutely use them again.

  • First let me say that I started hearing horror stories about this contractor after we hired him.  It was one thing after another.  It started by taking forever to get a quote on the work we wanted completed, we stuck it out and waited though because we knew he was usually a lot cheaper than other contractors and we knew that with this contractor you had to sacrifice speediness in exchange for cheaper prices.  After 4 months we got a quote and signed a contract for him to do the work.  It took another 3 months before he actually started working.  He installed the patio wrong, the pattern of the pavers changes part way through.  The length of the patio was longer on one side than we had originally discussed, it went right up to a lime tree in our yard.  When I told him I didn't want it that close to the lime tree because I was concerned that the roots would push up the pavers, he said I should move the lime tree.  The columns he installed for two gates were put in crooked and he had to come back to fix them.  Two of the columns were put twice the distance apart as were depicted on his engineering drawings, so we had to reorder the gate which cost twice as much then.  He ended up getting mortar down the electrical piping in the center of all five columns so our electrician wasn't able to get the wiring down the center.  His fix was to chisel out a spot for a new pipe to go along the side and then partially slapped some cement over the pipe on the side so the stucco coating on that side does not match not to mention the final stucco job he did on the other columns looks like a two year old did it (I wish I could attach pictures).  Oh, he also laid the driveway without letting the electrician know so there was no electrical piping installed under the driveway to reach the gate columns.  I had told him at least a dozen times to make sure he coordinates with the electrician before he does anything and the electrical piping was clearly drawn on HIS engineering drawings that he submitted for the permit.  He ended up having to tear up a section of the driveway to get the pipe under and then put more cement down after.  The cement patch job is AWFUL and does not match the color or texture of the rest of the driveway.  When I told him I was concerned that the cement he was using would not match the rest of the driveway, he laughed like I didn't know what I was talking about and said it will match once it dries.  Six months later, it is pretty darn dry now and doesn't even come close to matching, not even in the same color wheel.  He simply does not listen to what you are saying.  There were several instances when he said we had never discussed something and then we went to a drawing or information he had written down originally and realized that we had discussed it.  The entire job that should have taken only a few months ended up taking almost a year and a half.  We have to pay someone to come and re-stucco the columns and we will have to sand and paint the brand new driveway to make it look like a child didn't lay the driveway.  I can not express enough how AWFUL this contractor is.  While his initial pricing may be cheaper, it ends up costing you way more to fix all of the stuff he ruins.  He is a horrible contractor, DO NOT USE him!

  • CRV was very prifessional, efficient, and clean (compared to other contractors previously used). We have two small children and they were also very considerate of nap times being as quiet as possible.
The price was higher than other quotes but the quality of work and flexibility was well worth the extra.

  • They do not hire nighttime security, and as a result, my home was burglarized. My A/C unit was stolen as well as other items damaged, and they are taking too much time to repair/replace it. They do not hold to dates that they confirm to you, and it takes MANY phone calls/voice messages placed to them for them to even call you back. Their attitude is very disrespectful and unprofessional. Their workmanship is subpar as well. As far as the mortgage company arm of Rivercrest, they were not much better. When I compared their numbers to that of other mortgage companies, I found they were charging me a much higher interest rate. Although they promised to pay $2000 of my closing costs if I went with company, I found that those costs were hidden in charges elsewhere. I ended up paying $1000 LESS in closing costs and about $100 less on my month payment (lower interest rate). What a scam they run.
