Where do I start? From the time Keith came over to evaluate the job, I had one idea on where to move my electrical panel. Keith made a better suggestion on where to relocate it to. Keith's estimate was very fair and was able to get started quickly. His work is meticulous. The attention to detail and perfection of work was amazing. Not only did he move my panel but also upgraded the panel to allow for more options. I couldn't have been more pleased with Keith from ESSEX. I will be referring anyone I know needing this kind of work done. Please don't waste your time. Keith is the answer and will be re-hiring Keith in the near future for additional work. Thank you for a job perfectly done!

    Decor Lightings
I was a bit concerned with how high my FPL bill was becoming over the past few months and decided to call an electrical company to see if there was something I could do at my home to bring down my monthly cost.  I was recommended Decor Lightings by one of my neighbors.  Wayne came out to my home promptly and took a look around and realized my panel was outdated.  I had a feeling this might have been the case since my home was built many years ago and I had not done any electrical work since we purchased the house 25 years ago.  He was very knowledgeable in explaining why the panel needed to be replaced.  He also mentioned that there was a lot going on at my house such as lights flickering and appliances not working as well as they should and once the panel was changed all that would stop.  After replacing the panel and installing a surge protector I noticed after a few billing cycles from FPL my bill was significantly lower and I had absoultly no more electrical issues in my home.  I would highly recommend Decor Lightings for any electrical issues they truly gave me the peice of mind I was looking for.

    John Johnson Electric Inc
We received a letter from our homeowner's insurance company on May 6th, advising us that we needed to replace the exterior breaker box and submit documentation of the replacement or our policy might be cancelled on May 30th. They only gave us 3 weeks to get it all done. We searched online and found John Johnson Electric, Inc., a local business with good reviews here and elsewhere. John came to look at the problem on May 9th. We discussed what was involved, he gave us a reasonable quote, and upon learning of our deadline promised to work us in as soon as he could, even on a Saturday. He called on Friday, May 13, to let us know he would be coming the following morning. He and Manny arrived at 9am Saturday. In about 2 hours he not only replaced the offending breaker box, but he also replaced the old aluminum wire running to the meter and to the breaker panel box in the utility closet with heavier gauge copper wire. He also moved the 20 amp circuit breaker for an external outlet from the utility closet to the new exterior box. John worked efficiently and professionally, putting up with my peeking over his shoulder and asking questions; he even offered to take the photos required by the insurance carrier. We have beat the insurance company's deadline by two weeks. We can rest easier knowing we have also eliminated a more serious problem, aluminum wiring, than the insurance inspector had found. We will be calling John in the future for any electrical problems and we give him a well deserved recommendation.

ANGIE MEMBERS BEWARE: He said paint on the device voids the warranty. I stated that it is not on the warranty papers. He stated for me to change it myself. Also, any company can provide service, but the question is quality. What happens if something happens to your home? Will this company work to resolve the issue? Or were you just a quick buck? This is my home, and this company is very unreliable and twist statements. As he indicated know one else had this problem and look how it was handled. This is my investment and asset! The warranty matters! Also, FPL position is the Electrician needs to service the device, because there was surges, but nothing that would kill a surge protector! They indicated that this device may possibly be defective or installed incorrectly. FPL indicated that they have never heard of a business handling a situation in this manner.

On March 2, 2016 in at around 8:45am to gentlemen greeted me at the door. They explained they were here to install the whole house surge protector. They asked where the breaker is located and I informed them it is located in the back of the house. They proceeded immediately to start working. I asked them do I need additional space for the breakers and they explained everything is okay. They knocked on my front door and said the job is complete. I responded is that it, and I said well can I see what you have done. They went to the back of the house. I asked can you please tell me where you installed the surge protector and how does it work? They showed me it was at the bottom of the breaker panel facing downward. I asked well how do I know it is working and they explained that there is a really dim light that shows green. I asked can't it be moved to the side. They explained whole house surge protectors are only installed on the bottom of a breaker panel. There is no where else to see it. So I bent over under the panel and told them I do not see any light on the surge protector. They explained it is really dim and hard to see. However, if it turns red I would definitely notice it. I asked, so what would turn it red and they explained if the surge protector has gone bad or if the breakers trip. I asked well how do I know your surge protector has sufficient size to accommodate my usage and surges coming into my home. They replied that I have a small house and this surge protector can handle double my size of home. I told them, but you do not know what is in my home and they explained it does not matter. I replied I thought whole house surge protector is purchased by size. Then, I asked so if a surge comes in what am I to expect. They explain that the surge protector will absorb the surge and the breaker will trip and all I need to do is turn back on breaker if this happens. Periodically check that the light is not red. I told them can I please have documents on what I have purchased they explained those documents remain in the office. I asked, so as a customer I do not know what you installed what it can or cannot handle, and I do not know the terms of my warranty. They said sorry please call the office. But, if something happens within the first year please call us and we will replace it within one year of the installation date. They got in their vehicles and then knocked on my door, and said here is the warranty papers. We found it in the box. I told them Thank You!

April 8, 2016 Saturday evening I messaged the company on explaining there system was not performing. I had not received a response. I contacted the company and explained that I have been receiving surges and that the surge protector was not working. The young lady told me she was scheduling me for service on April 12. 2016 between 8am-8:30am. Then I received a phone call immediately back explaining that know one is coming from the young lady as per the manager. The young lady explained that the manager felt it simply needed troubleshooting. I told her surges are coming into my home electricity is flickering I need someone to check this surge protector, because it is not working. The young lady told me to call the manager directly, which I did and explained to him that part of my house had electricity for a moment and lights was flickering. The television made a pow sound and refrigerator made a sputtering sound. He stated that I needed to contact FPL and find out if there was surges in my area, because if there wasn't its a problem in my home that they would be happy to fix. I told him there is nothing wrong inside my home. He asked what year was my home and I said 1959, and how many electrical breakers. I explained 2. I updated him that everything in this home is brand new and was inspected by a Home Inspector. No double taps or grounding problems. He said well please call FPL and find out what is wrong, I hung up with him and called FPL who assigned a case number who indicated that they were some surges, and that the system turns off and on to accommodate lines down as well as animals on the line. However, they will have some research and make sure that there is nothing wrong in my area and at my house. FPL told me to verify with the electrician that my whole house surge protector is working. They will respond to my case within 5 business days. I contacted A&M Manager and he responded they will wait until FPL finish, before coming out here. I said I need someone out here to check out this surge protector. He indicated just to come out here to check my surge protector would be a service call charge. He said he don't understand why the device is painted and that I should get my painter to come and clean it, and that the breaker box should never get paint on it. I explained my house in the process of being painted. I will paint thinner and wipe it off, but you cannot see the light on the device. He responded to use nail polish remover. I called Angies List and explained I am detecting an issue brewing with this company. They explained to let him know that I am filing a complaint and take pictures of the device, which I did took pictures. I called twice and left a message. He responded he is with an official.

Conclusion: He returned my call.I told him that there is no light on the device. He explained that I need to file a claim with FPL for the device and his service call charge for $250.00 to come here. Also, the device is voided under warranty, because it has paint on it. I told him the warranty paper does not say it. He said then I can remove and send it to the manufacture myself. I said the bottom line is your not going to do anything. Your claim is that I handle this with FPL. But I will notify Angies List. Goodbye.

    Granite Direct
My experience with Granite Direct was very pleasant. Jose, the owner is very knowledgeable and helped me with the proper stone selection. The only thing I knew is, I saw a countertop at a restaurant that had lights coming from under it that lit up the stone so beautifully and I knew I wanted the same thing! I had no idea how to obtain that look but I came to Jose and explained to him what I saw and he brought my idea to life. The process itself was easy from start to completion. The workers were very professional and clean (they made sure to clean up every time they came to my home)

    A National Electric Service Inc
We purchased an Angie's List Deal for A National Electric Service as we had a Federal Pacific breaker panel which is considered to be a hazard.  We were paying an additional insurance premium for this as well.  The Deal was to install a new nationally recognized and approved panel.
Right from the start, A National Electric Service proved they understand customer service as I was contacted the following day and scheduled the service that same week.  Nick was very professional and diligently worked for over 10 hours into the night to complete this job which ended up being a much larger and more complicated job than anticipated.  He even called in an apprentice in the evening who assisted him for almost 4 hours!  In the end, we ended up paying an additional $500 for the time spent which we believed was fair.
We have had no problems with our breaker panel since.  Thanks Nick!
