    This pillowtop mattress is used by one girl.  One side of the pillowtop has totally collapsed.  The store is trying to evade replacing the mattress.  It is less than 1 year old.   I am now in contact with the manufacturer.  5 star mattresses and Serta are owned by the same company.

    A little abrupt while asking questions. They charge 50% commission for items they sell for you. They determine the price. After a month, if item does not sell, they will lower price by 20% after 3rd 30 days they will discount your item 50%. They make you email photos of items first and will tell you what they will take. They also charge a pickup fee if you do not bring the items to them. You have the right to pick up your items at any time with a 24 hour notice. They will send you a check at the beginning of the next month after item sells.

    I was going to purchase a complete bedroom set and started to fill out their form for credit. Before finishing the application, I asked the clerk what was the interest rate on their credit. She informed me that they do not charge interest, they charge fees. At that point, I said, "Forget it." I then used my debit card and paid $969.87 for the mattress only. Three weeks later I received a letter from GE Capital Bank that my credit application with Rooms-To-Go was turned down. I did NOT make an application for credit. They did this against my specific instructions to, "forget it." I do not like companies running credit checks without my permission and in this case, not only did they not have my permission, they did so against my specific wish NOT TO.

    The furniture comes in various styles and is very appealing to many different tastes.  Their showrooms are huge and (in spite of my aversion to salespeople) it actually helped having a salesperson to guide us around the showroom.  We shopped at many different furniture stores and we finally found a bedroom and living room set that we liked here at El Dorado.  Some other stores were cheaper, some were more expensive, but here is where we saw the furniture that we liked.  I don't think they have holiday sales (other stores had holiday sales when we made our purchase but El Doroado didn't have any sales going on) and there was no negotiation available (I'm furnishing two rooms for crying out loud!) but, like I said, this is where they had the furniture that we liked.  They have most furniture in stock so delivery was very soon after and was prompt.  
    We had trouble with one of the pieces and here is what happened, good and bad.  Good: The store responded quickly to my complaint and sent someone out to inspect the piece.  Bad: It was one of the delivery people.  He repaired the draw and left.  When we looked closer, he actually made it worse.  Good: The store promptly sent another person out to assess the situation and quickly replaced the piece.  Bad: There was a similar problem with this piece.  Very bad:  The delivery person told me I should just use two hands to open the draw.  Very good: Again, the store promptly replaced the piece.

    Well, four weeks go by and no furniture, we called and spoke to Tom who told us it would be on the truck the following week. Week 5 goes by and we call and speak to Vivian who is the owner and she told us she would call us back after she spoke to the manufacturer but she never did. Six weeks go by and we're very upset and we speak to Vivian again who says the furniture would be leaving the following day and we would receive it the following week. Week 7 rolls around and still no furniture! Vivian then has the manufacturer call to tell us that it would be arriving the following week (8 weeks from the date of purchase)! We then cancelled the order all together because we kept getting the run around and Vivian was so unprofessional it's incredible that she owns a business. We asked for a refund of our $1,500.00 deposit and we still didn't hear back from her to tell us that she processed our refund. We call her the following Monday to ask about the refund and she basically yells at us telling us that she already submitted the refund and if we needed to know more to call our bank, then she hung up in our face! We have never been treated this way as consumers and we would hope that everyone thinks twice before doing business with this company. They are absolutely horrible!!!

    Bought small bed and night stand for room, upon delivery we found out that the side rails are for a queen size bed and would not fit. The delivery of my purchase came with the correct mattress and incorrect bed frame. They delivered a queen size frame on the first and second deliveries. Which is not what I purchased. Upon third delivery they dropped the head board and broke it, and did not replace it, and still did not bring the correct frame. They left wall damage to dry wall and wood banisters. After talking to main office in Miami, they contacted the regional store and had managers call me back, upon this phone call they were very combative and unpleasant toward me over the phone. No corrections/ refunds have been made still to this day.

    I had previously purchased a large amount of furniture from Baer's Furniture Company. My credit is impeccable and never been questioned. When I placed my order I paid the one-half deposit using my American Express Platinum card. It was accepted willingly. Upon delivery of the furniture, which was exactly as ordered, the delivery men said that they cannot accept a credit card and that I must give them a check otherwise they will take back the furniture. I phoned their credit department at their store and was told that it is their policy to only accept checks upon delivery of the furniture. I asked their credit department to look up my records and see that I am an established customer. I was told that if I did not purchase any furniture in two years I am automatically considered a new account. Because I wanted the furniture to stay I reluctantly gave them a check. I was treated without any concern of past positive dealings with them.
