Funeral Home reviews in Wellington

My grandmother passed away and All County provided a dignified service for her. I couldn't be happier with the services provided by them. The staff was very empathetic and made every attempt to comfort and assist in my time of grieving. My funeral director was efficient and understanding, making the process of planning my father's funeral affordable and easy.

Stay away from GUERRY FUNERAL HOME in Lake City or McClennan, Florida!!
My mother-in-law passed away on a Friday night, while my husband and myself were out of the country. It was a holiday weekend, so we were not able to go to the funeral home until Tuesday. It was located 5 hours drive away as we live in South Florida.
My brother-in-law called Guerry Funeral Home to say my husband was coming up to see his mother, and we would take care of the financial arrangements.
The funeral director takes us in the conference room and we do all the paperwork. Then he tells us with the basic cremation package, the container needed for her body is a cardboard box. I guess this is a technique to get you to spend money on something that will be incenerated anyway. Then he proceeds to take us in the room to show it to us. How unprofessional is that? But wait, it gets worse.... much worse.
We go to pay with a credit card and he says they don?t take credit cards. So I leave my husband and his brother there to finish up as I go to the bank to get cash. My husband tells the director he is ready to go in the back to see her. He is told that viewing is a different package than the basic one he purchased and in order for him to say goodbye for 5 minutes, he has to buy the next package and it is an additional $1000. Yes, $1000 for 5 minutes and one person.
When I get back, the director who had just called the owner says his hands are tied and he cannot help us, that the package is the package.
So I say, I will just call the funeral home up the street a quarter mile. Then the director says, if you move her, you have to pay the $250 transportation fee as they picked her up from the hospital. In addition, we are to pay $70/day refrigeration costs.
I walk out and take my family with me. I called Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home and their funeral director is extremely  professional and say they can help us. I ask what they charge for transportation if a situation like this arrises and he said $225, and he has never heard of anyone charging refrigeration fees.
So I go back inside the funeral home to see if they will take the $250 to let him see her so we don?t have to move her. The director calls the owner. I get on the phone with him and he begins to SCREAM at me. It was so loud, I set the phone down and stepped back 3 steps and I could still hear him SCREAMING.
We drove to Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. They took care of all the paperwork and sent their guy down to pick her up and did a slight preparation for an additional $125. She was at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home and ready to view within 30 minutes.
And the amount we paid including the $250 transportation fee (I refused to pay the refrigeration) and $125 preparation fee was only $100 more than we had initially agreed to at Guerry because Guerry charges more for all of their services.
BOTTOM LINE stay away from GUERRY FUNERAL HOME in Lake City or McClennan, Florida.

I attended an advertised luncheon on Cremation by The Neptune Society, and was happy with the presenter and the manner in which my concerns were addressed. I agreed to allow a sales person come to my home to discuss the plans and price. I had a negative experience with this same situation last year with a Company with a different name, which I learn turns out to be part of the Neptune Society. Today , unlike last time, my questions were answered and explained. But I began to have second thoughts about it because I did not want to pay for some of the features which were not optional, and I did not need. Also, I wanted to discuss this whole thing with someone before I commit to $2300. I would prefer to be very sure, and not have to cancel within their 30 day period.
All I can say is that as soon as I said that I needed to think about it,and didn't agree to sign up, this nice sales person's whole demeaner and attitude appeared to change dramatically, his tone louder, and his face seemed to grimace. He stated that $2300 would become $2700. after today, and said other things which I experienced as negative and  irate.  This was a repeat of last year, although not as profound as the  last guy, who seemed to throw what I might call a hissy fit.
I do not do well with high pressure sales. I would prefer respect of my decisions, and then maybe we can do business at a later date.
I would suggest that Neptune Society provide sales people at the site of the presentation to discuss plans and prices. This may avoid sales people lament about time and travel, and provide a more neutral environment for the client.  I do not want to deal with this Agency again.

Smoothly with minimal effort on my part. Compassionate service at a bad time.
