Dr. Grasman has ALWAYS been courteous and attentive. He spends as much time with each patient as necessary and I have NEVER felt rushed, even when I knew he was behind schedule. Each patient has 100% of his attention once in the office for the physical. He also thoroughly and specifically discusses the results of tests or blood work so that you, as patient, understand your own personal results and what needs to be done to improve, if anything.

My primary doctor was Silverman but he was not available on Sat so they sent me to Dr Baker.  Dr Baker was very good and spent the time with me and gave me an excellent exam and medication and told me to follow up.  I tried to make another appointment with Dr Baker but they told me I am not allowed to switch doctors within the practice and I would have to go back to Silverman.  I will probable find another practice as I don't agree that they should restrict me to who I can see within the practice.

I was diagnosed with stones in my gall bladder in March of 2015 but was a bit scared to have surgery to remove my gall bladder. After multiple severely painful incidents of acute inflammation of my gall bladder that required trips to the emergency room in the middle of the night for pain medication and  ultrasounds to make sure a stone wasn't causing an obstruction I finally decided to look for a good surgeon who could remove my gall bladder via laparascopic surgery. A friend of my wife had her gall bladder removed by Dr. Perry and my wife's grandmother had colon surgery done by Dr. Perry. Both spoke very highly of him so despite the fact that my wife was a nurse at Lawnwood Hospital I made an appointment with Dr. Perry. I am so glad I took that step as within a week Dr. Perry had successfully removed my gall bladder via laparascopic surgery and my procedure and aftercare went extremely well. His entire staff during my initial consultation was extremely friendly and helpful. He clearly explained the procedure to me as well as the fact that less than 1% of laparascopic procedures to remove the gall bladder in his hands require conversion to opening the abdomen (which can understandably happen but would significantly prolong the recovery time and post operative pain and potential complications). Additionally, he explained that even my steps to avoid fatty foods at night and get exercise, while beneficial to my overall health wouldn't eliminate the painful episodes I was having at night because that is when the gall bladder is doing it's "housekeeping." I saw him a week after the surgery and everything was healing well and my incisions were amazingly small. I am not very good at handling pain and he was very good about his pain management. I had never been to Indian River Medical Center and the staff there was amazing. I was treated with kindness and respect and when I casually mentioned I was ready for the "burning" that anesthesia had caused in my arm in the past the anesthetist quickly said she was glad I mentioned that because that can occur in some patients and she would alter her protocol to minimize the chance of that unpleasantness due to my blood vessels being sensitive to anesthetic drugs. For the first time I didn't feel any burning whatsoever when they gave me the anesthesia. I only had minor discomfort in my throat for a few days which is very common because of the tube they use to deliver oxygen and anesthesia. The surgery was less than an hour and I was discharged home within a few hours of admission. It couldn't have gone any better. Great surgeons are not easy to find and I am glad I used Dr. Perry and wouldn't hesitate to use him again for a different procedure or recommend him to friends and family.

Dr. Nichols and his crew replaced my right knee July 27, 2015 and the left knee July 30.  Dr. Nichols was in the operating room for 29 minutes for the first surgery (my healthcare surrogate waited outside the OR).  I was on my feet and walking, albeit with a snoot full of drugs, within hours of each surgery.  I stayed in the hospital six days, until August 1, when I was sent home with a walker.
At home the first week was rough, but I was much more comfortable after that.  I had a visiting nurse (standard Medicare) who took vital signs and cleaned, treated, and dressed my incisions five days a week (I think).  I also had a physical therapist at home (standard Medicare) three times a week.  I did prescribed exercises about half as frequently as I was told to.  Then after a month, I was walking easily with the walker, cruising the aisles at Publix, and I started further outpatient physical therapy at Vero Orthopaedics.  Mid-September I ditched the walker.  It's now October 11 and I think I will be done with physical therapy this week.  My knees still get swollen when I have been sitting for a while, so I use flat 13" by 19" BodyIce icepacks twice a day (they cost $30 and are worth much, much more).
My follow-up appointments for x-rays and examination were brief and on time.
The whole experience, surgery, hospital, recovery in hospital and at home, has been remarkable.  Every person I encountered throughout this process was impressive in performance and attitude.  I've had other knee and ankle surgeries at Hospital for Special Surgery and Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York and at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC; my experience with Dr. Nichols and IRMC has been far superior to any the earlier ones.

We are very grateful for the "House Doctor". My husband and I were vacationing in Washington DC recently, when my husband became ill. Our hotel recommended their house doctor, and Dr. Brown arrived promptly, examined my husband, and began treatment in an attempt to avoid hospitalization. Dr. Brown followed-up with several calls and exams to track his condition, and explained that my husband could have a very serious infection, and advised immediate hospitalization. Dr. Brown arranged for medical transport, and steered us to the most appropriate hospital. (My husband was hospitalized for a week with sepsis.)  We remain extremely grateful to Dr. Brown for his medical expertise and guidance, and also for his kindness, compassion and generous spirit. His care and assistance during a particularly stressful time, in an unfamiliar location, made a huge difference in my husband's recovery and my ability to cope. We are also grateful to the Holiday Inn Capital for offering the "House Doctor" service.  It made all the difference for us.

I see his Nurse Practitioner. I have used his practice for two years. So far so good. The Nurse Practitioner is Lory Torres. Their office is efficient and I have never had any problems. You get seen at your appointment times- you don't have to wait.

    • Worked with me to get on the schedule after I arrived at wrong time for appointment.  Staff very friendly.  Office rather difficult to get to and to park in correct location due to minimal signage in the complex.  Very limited office hours when calling back for blood test results

Dr. Cox was friendly, and addressed the issue.
The office however double billed. They billed the insureance co. and me, and I had to call and ask for a refund, and they handled it.
The atmosphere of the office could have been more friendly.

She is much more knowledgeable and I trust her more than other doctors I have seen. She has great referrals if I need and will not recommend unnecessary services. I have been seeing her for a couple years now. The staff is not too large and I have not dealt with them much. I have had no problem scheduling when I need to be seen and I usually just walk in. You sometimes have to wait to be seen since it is a walk in clinic. I strongly recommend her to others.

I have been seeing the doctor for about 9 months. He came recommended by my nurse practitioner who scheduled the visit. He is very good at explaining what he is doing and why. I really like that about him. He seems to be a very competent and will not push unnecessary tests or medications on you. The staff are pleasant to work with and he is part of a larger medical group. I have not seen any of the other doctors in the group. They are all very nice and I had no problem scheduling with the doctor.
