    Handyman the Fix-it LLC
They arrived on time, were professional and polite and got the work done. That night I noticed a little issue that both of us didn't notice on the walk through of the work. He came back the next day and fixed it quickly.

    Custom Painting, Inc.
Was contacted very quickly by Linda to schedule the work.  Explained what needed to be painted and she told me that if I emailed pictures, they would try to let me know if 1 painter was sufficient or I could wait for painter.  I did take pictures and emailed them to her.  Not only were they able to let me know I would need 2 painters for the day, but they were able to tell me how much paint to purchase in advance and what kind of paint to purchase.  She quoted an additional $299.00 for the second painter and I agreed.
Rico and Paul arrived promptly on Monday.  Reviewed what needed to be painted and went to work.
They moved everything out of the way and covered anything that needed to be covered.  Painted the ceiling first.  I had water damage on one area of my ceiling.  Rico pointed out that it had not been properly treated so they treated it for me before painting.
Once ceiling was complete, they painted the living room.  They had to cut into another color on one wall and did so very cleanly.  All the lines are very clean.  Once everything was painted, they cleaned everything up and hung my painting back up.
Overall, it was a very smooth process.  Will use again.

    Reid's Remodeling
My first encounter was with Reid's wife Beth who manages his business.  She is charming, responsive and very friendly.  I have spoken to her several times and she is consistently helpful and pleasant.  Reid went to the property to give me an estimate, then returned on the scheduled date right on time.  I was able to be in town the day the work was performed to meet them and see their work.  Reid and his assistant Kyle are very focused and hard working, friendly, without being too chatty, they are both very polite and professional.  They worked on an hourly rate plus materials and the the total came in right on target.
I had told a friend who owns property in North Redington about Reid and she hired him before I was even able to.  He and Kyle did a beautiful job with dry wall repair, she was very happy and plans to use his services again.  Reid gave me a discount for the referral and 10% off for using Angie's List, that was a nice surprise!
As an out of state owner I am thrilled to have finally found a handyman to help me with our rental properties.  My experience has been poor with people who never showed up, or came late and left early.  Reid's Renovations was a welcome change with his dependability and the quality of his work.  I have already scheduled him to install a laminate floor in the master bedroom - because the crew I hired through Lumber Liquidators never showed up.

    McGuire for Hire Handyman
I purchased 4 hours of handyman work through one of the Angie's list deals.
Mr. Perry got in touch, set a date, had me text him a list so he would know what tools to bring, asked a couple of questions.  He arrived EARLY, took care of all I asked, plus a couple of other items I didn't even think of!
I would most certainly use him again -

A professional and personable gentleman. going out of his way on a Saturday evening to help us out. Would use him again and have no qualms about giving him the highest of recommendation.

    Andy Jablonski
Our agreement was Andy was to work on the demolition at $15/hr vs. his normal $22.50/hr rate.  We expected to have it done over the weekend.  Andy took over a week to complete it.
The plastering started and he would not show up on time (9am) and be ready to work.  My job superintendent tracked his hours and we found he'd show up some days at 11am and some at 2pm.  He would only have a single bag of plaster with him and then run to home depot for another bag when he ran out, which took him 2 hours for some reason.  He would then have multiple 15-20 min smoke breaks per hour.
He was instructed to save receipts, as we agreed it was time and materials which he was to track his hours and submit the actual receipts.  The material was not accounted for and he did not have receipts.  We had agreed to only pay for receipts (again the job superintendent tracked this) only if submitted.  He at best was a bad tracker of his receipts, at worst he was unethically trying to pad his bill.
When it came time to get paid he invoiced my company for 64 hours as a block, not broken down into daily times or even what was finish work and what was demolition.  All hours were at his full rate!  He did not have receipts for any material with the invoice, and claimed not to have them.
My Superintendent said he needed to sit down with him and account for his hours and materials.  It took over a week for him to agree to do this, and then he showed up with out receipts.  We said we'd pay him for his hours at the price agreed, not his inflated bill.  He finally did show up with receipts, but they were not accurate against his invoice.  There was materials invoiced which we could not locate (oak wood flooring, when the material used to repair the floor was pine).
He left in a huff and was very mad that he was not going to cheat us out of any more money.  For the record we have plumbers and electrical tradesmen on this job that have no problem submitting accurate billing and receipts.
The worst and most shady thing he did was to call the city inspector on us reporting the work he did and said it was unpermitted.  I've since rectified this, but it is in very bad form and shows his character (or lack thereof) clearly.
I would never hire this man to do anything again after this.  He's a shyster and totally unprofessional.

Zef arrived on the date and at the time we agreed; the work he thought would take ~5 day; Zef was very careful to protect the new floor and countertops/glass sinks; his work was meticulous..  The work progressed as planned; however, I hadn't ordered  enough tile for the countertop back splash area; I had to re-order on line so it took a week to arrive. Zef came back  (he lives 1.5 hours away from our home); he finished the job as agreed; we are very happy and the new shower makes the bathroom look so good.
We really appreciate Zef's professional approach to his work; he is someone that you want to have on your list for any home improvements. a delight to work with, thanks Zef

After buying the coupon on Angies List,I call Southern Concepts. They responded on time .I was told they charge $37. a hour ...I do not have the invoice on hand at this time as I am not in Florida...... They arrived on friday at approx 10.40 a.m.Two men were dropped off by the foreman .At approx 3p.m. they were waiting to be collected by said foreman. On Saturday they arrived just about 10a.m. same procedure. They again had to hang around to wait for foreman to pick them up.
. They did a good job installing the tile soap tray and as I do not know enough about tiling I can only say the tiles on the two showers stalls and surround of two other bath tubs look good. I was quite shocked at the total cost.In order to make sure I was not out of touch I contacted two other contractors and was told it certainly should not have taken more than a day to do the whole thing, in fact one said it should have been done in half a day...I am giving them the benefit of a whole day.... I was quite perplexed about  the dropping off and picking up arrangement.... The two men were left just hanging around until someone came to pick them up... IN actual fact I was originally asked for $700 as they said they need to supply a piece of drywall  was needed to go behind the soap tray, fortunately I had some the correct size in the house. I paid $ plus $500 plus the $199 coupon on Angies list

This is the 3rd time I've had Brent Duncan out to do electrical work at my house - this time to add new lighting. Took him an entire day, and part of the next, while working around 3 guys installing new tile in the house. Did his usual meticulous job, including coming back another day to re-sand and rework the wall/mud repair in one room when he wasn't satisfied with it. Brent also came back again a week later to look at a couple of older switches in another room that weren't working anymore - he spent 3 hours here diagnosing the problem, which apparently had to do with a very odd wiring pattern that connected these switches to another switch (for a ceiling fan in another room) that he had moved when installing new switches the week before; he fixed the problem, and installed 2 new switches in a double box - all without charge. Now THAT is an honest man who stands behind his work!

This work took pretty much the whole day. The owner, Brent Duncan, did the work himself. Brent is a capable, bright, and honest guy who does meticulous work, including clean-up. Everything works as desired, and Brent worked around my schedule (I work mostly out of my home) to get the job done well and promptly. There are cheaper firms out there, but Duncan charges a fair price for excellent work and so IMO represents a very good value.
