Landscaping reviews in The Villages

Leo was very straightforward, honest and professional. Best prices in TV and I did check around. Great hard working crew completed both jobs quickly and neatly. Dedicated paver person. Excellent job, highly recommended!

If I said anything positive about Leo"s Landscape in the past, I retract all of it. The man is a con artist.whose word is to be taken with a grain of salt. He is way overpriced for what he actually delivers. We had picked out specific plantings for him to plant. The plants he did deliver and plant were not from the same nursery we had designated and were of inferior quality versus what we had paid for. He provided little help in suggesting the types of plants we should have. Although his underpaid help was competent, it was unsupervised except when I intervened. Never saw Leo again after his initial 10 minutes on the job -- just his son, who showed up occasionally and then sat in his truck during the rain while the help kept working and only came forward when it was time to collect the check. In summary BEWARE of Leo's Landscaping. Total time on the job with 4 helpers was less than 4 hours at a cost of over $1,200. (NOTE: Leo will probably counter with some kind of inaccurate retort to this review and probably brag about his other reviews but, DO NOT believe what he may say. I was NOT happy with his plants and was certainly NOT happy with his lack of response to my numerous requests to repair minor damage to my stone wall even though he promised on three occasions to come back and repair it). Like Share Update 11/26/2018: I stand by my review of 11/3/18 regarding Leo's service. His arrogant retort confirms my review. I did not write a favorable review for him 4 months ago as he claims. However, I did write a review about a year ago but that was a review regarding I quote he gave me back then. I never hired him based on that quote. The man is a smooth operator when it comes time to come out, survey your property and give you a quote but his work, which is in the proof of the pudding, is a D. You will never see him again once he drops off his help to do the job.

Went great. Took out outdated shrubs and palm trees and added fresh more modern plants and palms and the finished with curbing and stone. Very nice But this past January several plants died because of frost and freezing. Leo replaced at no charge even though i was not expecting that. He was awesome and also replaced some bushes. He stands behind his work and is very honest and reasonable. My wife is a realtor and we both have recommended him to several friends and neighbors. He is busy because he is good so be patient.

It went fabulously. This is Mom and Pop business. Reese and his stepson Derrick have a fabulous team of professional gardeners working for them. I did not get a written estimate. We shook hands over the amount, I was comfortable about it because I trusted them completely. And history shows that I was right. I met them at the tree farm where they by the trees/pants and picked them. You don't to pay anything until the job is completed to your satisfaction. Half way through the project I asked them to add more trees/plants and they did not flinch. Whatever the customer wants goes. It took 5 guys 4 days to complete the project. They each became like family. The appearance of my yard is so much more than I expected. They did a terrific job, and left everything immaculate. They even vacuumed the street when they picked up their equipment.

Water Wizard was prompt & professional. Replaced most of our sprinkler heads that were either damaged or installed improperly by another person. Also adjusted the timer for the correct watering times. Would absolutely hire again.

Spoke with Jimmie, Said he would be out the next day, which was May 10th, called again on Monday May 14th and Jimmie said he didn't get there but would tomorrow. It's now Friday May 18th and have not heard back. He never called to say that he couldn't make it. Very poor all the way around. I guess we will be out tomorrow means, if not tomorrow then someday.

OK, at first. He put in border rocks and plants. But there was high pressure to keep adding jobs. By the time it was over I had paid $7800 and was left with a leaking, broken irrigation system, dead plants, a ditch I didn't need that was put in to drain the leaking irrigation system, a fountain wire that will need to be replaced to code. It will cost me an additional $3600 to repair damage to my sprinkler system, $350 to rewire the GFI and extension cord to my fountain and almost $500 to replace the plants that died because of lack of watering because of the broken drip system. I attempted to communicate with the owner, Dustin Cole, but he immediately became enraged, confrontational and intimidating that I would dare ask him to adjust the sprinklers, that were spraying in the wrong direction onto a neighbor's house, saying "they worked fine when I left and you paid me, so YOU must have done something to them.' This was less than two weeks after he finished the job and was paid. So I attempted several times to ask him to help me get the system working and he just became more angry and confrontational. Now I realize after contacting other irrigation companies that the work was not only shoddy but it was way over priced. I feel "Poorer but wiser" Beware of this contractor.

Kevin Gokey showed up at my home to discuss the landscaping I was interested in having done. Seemed like a laid back sort of guy who didn't appear to be too hungry for the job. Looked around, gave me some pointers and information, and then said he would get back to me with a quote in 10 to 14 days. I asked him for a business card but said he didn't have any. Never heard from him again.

Leo Burrow came out to my home to discuss what I would like to have done and to offer some suggestions and proposals. He appeared to be very professional and knowledgeable. Verbally suggested some ideas once he knew what I had in mind and then left saying he would provide two design proposals and quoted estimates within a week. Within two days, Leo emailed back with two itemized quotes along with a colored drawing of what he was proposing. He then followed up two days after this to discuss the proposed estimates and see if I had any followup questions. After receiving two other quotes and then deliberating for another two or three weeks, I decided to go with another landscaper who I had used before. Although I DID NOT choose Leo's to do my landscaping, I was impressed with his responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. Leo's estimated price also looked reasonable.

They are not reliable, they say they will be out, but once they have your payment you never know when you will see them. Phone calls and promises that they will do their work are not carried out. Stay away!!!!!!
