  • The Wards were very thorough. Kept us informed along the way about when coming, time, etc. Work was performed exactly as promised. Everything was professionally done. Pricing was very reasonable. Clean up was great except for the new concrete you would never know they had been here. Would definitely use them again for any concrete needs.

  • Ryan took the lead at the start of the day with Shane wrapping it up the end of the day. Very professional and personable crew. Took precaution to minimize damage from their large equipment while maneuvering throughout the yard. One crew attacked the large trees while another took to the tree trimming around the perimeter of the lawn. Meanwhile the tractor went between the two crews picking up debris and taking to the street ready for the debris truck to collect the debris and take to the landfill. The large tree stump was grounded up by another crew toward the end of the day while the other crews did final clean up of work area. I would hire them again.

  • It went extremely well. I observed them for a day and a half and also talked with the on-site health inspector as well about his observations. We both agreed that the work performed was correctly done. The workers were professional, punctual and informative about the installation and pumpout. One big thing I learned is never have your septic tank pumped only through the pipe(with a screw off lid)' You must have the top lid removed in order to access the sludge layer(which must be broken up in order to be sucked out).Call me for more information(Charles--562-1399). The price below was for an 860SF drainfield ($4380) and $250 for the pumpout. Mike Sundin, (owner) is honest and a straight shooter !

  • I contracted with G and S Fence and Deck in April 2017 to replace a cracked asphalt driveway and parking area with white stone and topsoil in November 2017. They demanded more than half the estimate six weeks before work began, used the wrong size aggregate, cleaned up the transmission fluid their truck leaked on the cement portion of the driveway with pure muriatic acid that washed away the top layer of concrete down to the aggregate and so damaged the cement permanently. G and S made several appointments but never showed up, denied the damage they caused, have been condescending and disrespectful. I asked for white stone for the driveway and was given a choice of small or large crushed granite aggregate, which I was told was light and white. I was not given a sample, but shown a photograph, and the aggregate looked white in the photo. Apparently it was taken in very bright sunlight. I was asked for and paid a deposit of $1900, over half the estimated cost of $3580, at the beginning of October 2017. At that time, I asked that my initial choice of small-size aggregate be changed to large-size aggregate because the driveway has a pronounced slope and I was concerned the small aggregate would wash down into the street, a concern I had brought up with the salesman when he created the estimate. I was told by the salesman my change of aggregate size would be done. G and S finally showed up the last week of November, after I called and they kept making excuses. Removing the old asphalt and putting down topsoil went well. The stone that was delivered, however, was small aggregate, not what I had asked for. I was ill, and did not make them return it--a big mistake. They had also neglected to bring metal edging for the driveway which I had requested in the original bid (they brought it for one end but not for the sides), and I told them it would be necessary to keep the grass from growing into the aggregate. They were unhappy, but installed it. The aggregate was light gray, not white as I had wanted and expected. When it got wet, the day after they finished, it became quite dark gray. I called G and S and was told it would be dark when wet, but would dry light. This is partly true. It dries lighter gray. It is never white, and as time as gone on, it has been medium to dark gray most of the time. It is nothing like the white stone I originally asked for. While G and S was off-loading the aggregate, their truck was parked on the cement approach to the driveway and leaked transmission fluid onto and into the cement. G and S at first denied this ("Our trucks don't leak!"), but when I refused to pay them any more money, they finally came (weeks later) and cleaned it up with pure muriatic acid, which killed the grass on both sides and damaged the cement. Three cement contractors have examined it and all have said that the longevity of the cement has been compromised and it will now stain more easily. I have also repeatedly asked that they return and compact the driveway again, since the small aggregate is doing what I was concerned about, which is slowly shifting down toward the street. First G and S lied and said they had done this ("It's in our logbook!"), but because the small aggregate shows every mark, it was obvious they had not. The week before Christmas, the owner wanted a check for the remaining amount of the estimate and I said I would have a check for him and would show him the problems with the shifting aggregate and the stains in the driveway. He said he would come on Monday, December 18. I wrote the check for the full amount remaining on the estimate and waited. He never showed up. I told him I would put the check in an envelope on the door. It was still there Tuesday, so I took it down. I told him I would be there on Wednesday afternoon, December 20, but had church duties in the morning. He came when I was not there, lied about compacting the driveway, and complained that the check was not still on the door. Meanwhile, I waited all Wednesday afternoon for him to show. I made another appointment for Friday, December 22 and waited all day. Once again, he never showed up. The office manager then began sending me nasty e-mails about paying the remaining amount and charging interest on the unpaid balance. I finally sent them a check for $1000, a little over half of the remaining amount, but retained $680 in order to get the driveway cement cleaned and the aggregate compacted. It is now the beginning of February. I'm still waiting for the driveway to be compacted a final time, still getting nasty e-mails from the office manager, who is still trying to charge interest on the remaining $680.00. As I have pointed out to the office manager, if the owner had showed up once during the three times he made appointments in December, he would have been paid in full. Since I no longer trust G and S to actually provide what I asked for, show up on time, and do the work without causing other damage and then lying about it, I must retain some monies to ensure their compliance. Meanwhile, they have not made an appointment to compact the aggregate, and it is still slowly shifting down the hill. When a G and S employee came to use acid on the transmission stains, I pointed out the problem of the shifting aggregate. He said he would need to send a crew with shovels to move the aggregate back up the hill. This driveway is going to be a continuing problem, and G and S has demonstrated that they cannot be relied upon to show up and fix problems their lack of knowledge created. They should not have offered the small aggregate as a choice on the sloped driveway, especially after I specifically asked the salesman if stone would work on the slope. They then failed to change to the larger (and heavier) aggregate when I requested it. G and S has denied ever receiving the message from the salesman that I wished to change from small aggregate to large. Unfortunately, this message was verbal, and other verbal messages I have given them have gone missing as well. I would advise making all communications with the company in writing, examining all materials before they are installed, and supervising the crews carefully.

  • Terrific. Milo is a consummate professional. He led a multi-month renovation project that was performed flawlessly, to an extremely high standard. Upon completion of his work, the hundreds of builders and professionals toured my home as the 2008 model home for a national building conference. They were all impressed by both his worksmanship and the new technologies that he seamlessly integrated into the home design.

  • Wonderful! Louie provided a quote the day I asked for it - and worked around our tree removal schedule. He and his crew showed up when he said and completed the job as stated. Our front yard has instant curb appeal with the new driveway. We will definitely recommend him!

  • We want to take this opportunity to say thanks to Travis at G&S for the great job he, his crew chiefs Robbie and Daniel and their staff did on the preparation and installation of our paver driveway, front walkway and walkway connecting our driveway to our pool and outdoor kitchen. Having gotten four proposals, reviewed and discussed with each proposer and had follow-up detail discussions with two, we chose G&S. They took their time and did the job well. In spite of some bad weather, they finished within the proposed timeframe even though two unplanned changes were requested. We would highly recommend G&S if you contemplate a job involving pavers.

  • Matt arrived promptly at 1400 and got right to it conducting the inspection. He did have to make a few minor repairs and had all the supplies that he needed with him. We discussed the proper setting of the dehumidifier to maintain the correct moisture content in the wood beams. He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable in his field.

  • We scheduled the work about a week out and on the scheduled day Louie and his crew were at the house working as he stated. The job got held up one day as we found a galvanized pipe that was uncovered when the slab was removed. We called 811 to get it checked out and after they cleared the problem he was able to start back up the next morning and finished the job. I have been in business for over 25 years and it is nice to find other contractors that are professional and pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend Louie Ward Concrete to do any job in his field and will do business with him again if the need ever arises. Thanks again.

  • Well... I had a family emergency at the time my appt was scheduled. So I called to reschedule. No problem. A couple of days prior to my appt Eric called to confirm everything. I was currently driving from another state but confirmed the appt. However, during my drive back I had mechanical issues causing my delayed arrival for my appt. I called Eric to advise of my issues and - well - lets just say I was upset and tired from the entire experience. Eric was absolutely WONDERFUL and UNDERSTANDING of my situation and rescheduled me again! I was so pleasant to speak to he put me at ease when I thought I was falling apart. Well... he came out for my appt (after confirming with me in the AM) and he checked the foundation in the addition as well as the rest of the house. Good news - my foundation is just fine. He was great. Courteous and quick. If I needed foundation repairs - this would be the company I hire. Shows up on time - understanding of 'personal' issues and calls to confirm appt. He answered all of my questions and didn't make me feel like I needed a degree to comprehend his answers. Down to earth and very knowledgeable. The company sends out a short bio with a photo of the person coming out to conduct the survey. They provide a booklet that goes over what to expect. This company is THE company!!! You will not be disappointed :)
