    My wife went to the Sun City office for setting up hip surgery Office and staff were excellent, and surgery went well. Everything went as expected. They got us into the new St. Joseph Hospital in Riverview, which was much closer to our home. Overall the treatment was excellent, until we got to BILLING!
    They had us put $850 deposit down on the surgery, 2 weeks ahead. That was fine. 4 weeks later, Aetna paid their claim, and we found we had overpaid by $450. When our FSA credit card found out, they suspended our card, pending the refund of the overpayment.
    We have caled at least 5 times to the billing department, waiting on hold for 2 to 4 hours, sometimes being cutoff after all that time. Each time we got in, they told us we would have to wait for the claim to be settled before they would refund the money. The claim was paid on March 4, but they say that their books did not .reflect this until March 22. They told us we would have to wait another 4 weeks for the refund. All this time our credit card is suspended, and we don't have access to our medical funds on deposit.
    I think this is sleazy tactics, and paitients should not be treated like ths. They don't seem to care about or needs..This has been very stressful for my wife an me.

    Visited the Sun City Center office. I realize that my problem is hardly life threatening and that I am not a candidate for surgery. However, my job requires that I spend upwards of 8 hours a day at a computer, researching and writing reports. The pain has become very prohibitive with respect to my job performance, and I do need to remain employed in order to survive. I was advised that I would see the doctor when I made the appointment; this was also reiterated several times during the appointment. To keep this brief as possible, I never saw the doctor and the physician's assistant that I did see seemed rushed and very distracted and left the examining room for about 15 minutes at one point. I certainly do not object to seeing a PA; my primary care is a nurse practitioner. However, this should be made clear when you are making the appointment, or at the very least when you arrive for the appointment. I had the distinct impression that I was being "blown off" because my concerns with not considered serious enough. A staff member provided me with a number of splints, which I purchased. I have been using them as instructed and have not noticed any significant reduction in pain/discomfort. I was also prescribed medication which I have elected not to take; it seems similar to Vioxx and not worth the potential side effects, particularly in combination with other medication I am already taking. Unfortunately, the appointment, which took two hours (mostly spent waiting, and I had to go to work afterwards) was not a positive experience and I will not be going back. I hope anyone else who goes here has a better experience than I did.

    Fabulous hand surgeon. I am on a medicare program so I have not seen any billing. There were no problems with the scheduling for my appointments.
