  • Derrick is awesome. We purchased waterproof vinyl flooring from Derick at sailfish flooring. The vinyl planks looks just like wood, but is water proof and we were also able to put it in our bathroom. We love the way it turned out. Derrick has also laud flooring for us in the past, he does great work and it a very hard worker. Derrick and his wife are good people😁.

  • it went great ! I called and an appointment was made for an estimate for two days later. A fair price was agreed upon. When I was ready I called on a friday, he was there on monday and the job was completed on tuesday. It was a tough job and most contractors I contacted didn't want the job. Anthony did a fantastic job , better than I expected and left a clean work place when completed. I couldn't have happier!

  • The work itself went well. The crew was responsive , respectful of their surroundings and hard working. My problem is with Antonio and his assistant. The crew spoke very little english and I speak very little spanish. We tried our best to communicate but it became frustrating. When there was no other option I called Jackie to explain the problem and she assured me a person was on there way to interpret and help resolve any issues. The guy was a no show. Fortunately after much time we were able to resolve the problem, but wasted over an hour. of productive work time. After they left I called Jackie and left a detailed message of the problem. I then called Antonio and talked to him directly. Here is where it became a problem. I tried to explain that sending a non speaking english crew is unfair to his workers and to me as the the consumer. I was constantly interrupted by this guy accusing me of not being nice to the crew. Not only was I nice I bought them lunch and drinks while they were at my house and they were very appreciative. He threatened that if I write a bad review and there is a problem with the floor in the future they would not come back. Antonio was not coming back regardless. Normally I would let this go, but i don't like being threatened. Stay away from this guy. He is purely in it for a buck and has no regard for customer satisfaction and will not listen to your concerns without being arrogant and defensive.

  • They installed 2,200 square feet of engineered wood in our entire house. They accommodated our request to install the floors on our short time frame before we moved in. From the floor selection in their showroom to the installation, they were very professional, timely, and attentive. The job site was always kept clean and all debris immediately removed each day. We were very pleased with the results...could not have gone any better. We would highly recommend them for any wood floor installation and would use them again.

  • about 8 kahrs brand hardwood floor boards in our kitchen needed replacement due to a previous faulty installation. it also needed some adhesive injection in several hollow spots.   mr sanchez, who advertised on craigslist, came by to provide an estimate on 3/14/15.  he stated that he was a perfectionist with extensive experience and that he even mixed wood dust into a special compound to fill drilled holes, so that they matched the surrounding board. he stated that he has a contract with martin county to maintain their basketball courts. his minimum job was $500. i had 3 other estimates,between $450-$725, so he was within that range.  he stated firmly that he would not ask for one penny until the job was 100% complete, and done to my 100% satisfaction.
    he arrived to do the work on 4/6/15. he worked methodically, and was exceptionally neat and clean. he removed the old boards and  placed a new board without adhesive into an empty slot to show me the fit. it was perfectly level. so far i was very pleased with my decision to hire mr sanchez.
    however, when he added adhesive to the boards and installed them,  the edges were not level.  to correct this, he sanded all of the boards down, which leveled them perfectly.  but the sanding removed the color, so they were nearly white. he explained that over time they would darken, which is true but takes months.
    the next day, 4/7/15,  he arrived to continue the work. in conversation, he showed me a photo he had taken.. it showed my wall which had a large poster on it. i asked why he took the photo and he said "it's your floor." however,the floor was only a small percentage of the photo. he did not ask my permission to take this photo, or any others he may have taken.
    after about an hour he took a call on his cell phone.  he said that he had to leave to attend to an emergency at a large job in palm beach county. he presented me with an invoice which had a "minimum charge" of $500 plus $25 an hour for labor, totaling $723.00. he was anxious to leave, so paid him.
    after he left i recalled that when he had estimated the job, he had promised not to ask for one cent until the job was 100% done to my 100% satisfaction. furthermore, while he had stated that his minimum charge was $500 for a job, he had not explained that this really meant that he charged $500 just to walk in the door!
    when he returned on 4/10/15 , i explained my concerns. he apologized for his lack of proper communication. i explained that we had a budget for this project, based on several estimates, and that we had already reached the upper estimate with no end in sight . i stated that we were willing to pay another $200 to complete the job, but no more.
    mr sanchez agreed to finish the job for $200. he sanded down two more boards, and put water based finish on the sanded areas.  the next day he drilled holes in the hollow spots and injected adhesive, then filled the holes. I paid him, and he ldeparted. he left a hose behind, so i called to tell him. he said he would pick it up soon.
    when i called to remind him of the hose a week or so later, i mentioned that there were still some hollow spots and asked if i could take care of them myself somehow. he stated that he would be glad to spend about 1/2 hour on them at no charge when he came to pick up the hose.
    by now i had noticed that he had used a wood filler on the drilled holes that did not match the rest of the boards.  it looks like there are dirt spots all over the floor. this was contrary to his promise to use wood dust from the boards themselves.
    mr sanchez did not contact me, so on 7/29 i called to remind him of his hose. he stated that he had forgotten about it but would come over to pick it up. i asked if he was still willing to do the 1/2 hour of injection filling.  he said yes, and stated that he would come by at 2PM on friday 7/31.
    the appointed time came and went. he did not call. i left him a terse message at 530PM. he did not return my call.
    mr sanchez is very personable, but he is not a man of his word. i am also disppointed in the quality of his work, because kahrs said that if the boards had been installed properly, no sanding would have been necessary. so we have paid mr sanchez  $937 for a job that should have taken less time and cost less money, and our floor still is not done properly.

  • My hardwood floor had termite damage. On 12/12/14 I bought a box of boards from Flor-Source in Jupiter, Florida. they are  35 miles away from me, so I used my American Express card over the phone.  Dan (owner) said  "I'll send over one of my guys to install them. Clint Kendall lives in Stuart, he 's real good."   Rather than ship the boards to me, Dan said that Clint would pick them up on one of his frequent stops at the office, and bring them along when he came to do the installation.
    On 1/12/15 Clint Kendall and his helper arrived. They started tearing up the damaged boards. Clint disappeared at lunchtime for about 2 hours. His helper did not speak English so sat on the front porch to wait. I offered him food and water, but he shook his head. When Clint returned about 2:30PM, he was in a big hurry to finish the job and did a lot of pounding to set the new boards. He used up about half of the box I had bought from Flor-Source.
    When Clint  finished, he said I had to pay him by check because he had his own company. Dan had not advised me of this arrangement when he said he would "send over one of my guys" , but I complied. I wrote him a check for $434.89. The next day I noticed that the new boards were not level with the old boards. Clint said that when the glue dried, they would be level. I waited 3 days but the boards were not level. On Friday 1/16 I texted him. He did not reply.
    On 1/21 I texted him again. He replied his phone had broken and he would come on Saturday to look at the problem. He came by briefly on 1/24 and promised to call me Monday.  He did not call. By now he had cashed my check. I texted him on Thursday 1/29. He replied that he would call me the next Tuesday. He did not call.
    On 2/5 I called Dan at Flor-Source. He said that Clint would be coming into the office that very evening and that he would discuss the matter with Clint and call me back. He did not call me. Nor did Clint. I had a very sick dog so did not call Dan again until the morning of  2/16. Dan said in an annoyed tone of voice, "I said I would call you!"  and that he had customers there and would call me as soon as they left. He never called me back.
    Clint finally called and said he hadnt called me because I was supposed to have called him.  He blamed the problems on the fact that my old boards had been damaged. This was excuse #5. First the glue needed to dry, then his phone broke, then he was busy, then I didn't call him, now it was the original boards were damaged.   He promised to fix the problems on Friday 2/23 at 9AM, and said that he would call me the evening before to confirm. He neither called nor showed up.
    Clint had cashed my check within a few days of receiving it.  I disputed the charge for the boards with American Express for two reasons: 1) Dan had been responsible for sending an installer who did an inferior job and 2) the job needs to be completely re-done, which means that I will have pay a second time for labor and use up the remaining half of the box of boards I had purchased from Flor-Source. Had the job been properly done, I would have  those remaining boards left for any future needs. But since they will be used up for the re-do, I will be forced to buy an additional full box in the future.
    In his written reply to my dispute, Dan claimed that "Mrs. Joyce contracted her own installer."  This is a bald faced lie. I never heard of Clint Kendall until Dan said that he would send Clint over because Clint lived near me.
    Dan believes that he has nothing to do with any of this. He states that I should  take up the matter with Mr. Kendall, whom he implies that he has no connection to, no control over, and does not even know. However, the Flor-Source Enterprises Facebook page contains a reference to Clint Kendall doing a job for Flor-Source on 11/22/14. This proves that Dan is trying to conceal their relationship and avoid responsibility for sending him to my home.

    Flor-Source deceived me. They lied to evade responsibility, and only cared about getting my money. Therefore, they have earned an "F" rating.

    When I finally saw the floor, I was amazed.  It's awesome.  The installation is meticulous - excellent job!
