    SEARS HOME IMPROVEMENT PRODUCTS
    When I called Sears to complain about the lack of installation I was told that the installers had called me to make sure i was home and that we didn't answer the phone.  When I told them that my phone information only reflected a call with an immediate hang up they essentially called me a liar.  Very poor performers in the installation company.  Sears only offers installations once per week in the Key West area.  I canceled the sale and went to Certified Appliance who had equivalent pricing and first class installation.

    I called him on 7/20 (Sunday) and he called me back first thing Monday morning. He was at our condo by noon.
    He has always been very honest about repairing something or not putting anymore money into appliance. My wife feels very comfortable to be alone in the unit when he comes by. She feels he talks to here like a person should and not in technical lingo that makes one just say, well ok fix it or I'll have to ask my husband.
    Raul is very professional, and I would recommend him to my family or closet friends. We are moving in a few months, and I will miss having this kind of dependable person in our new city.
    He has worked on our AC, Washer, Dishwasher, and Water filtration system. All the work was excellent.

    When I phoned, Preston happened to be nearby and was able to come over very promptly. He was professional in every way and carefully diagnosed the problem as a small broken elbow in the icemaker. Since his initial test could have indicated the need for an unneeded expensive electronic part, his thoroughness saved that cost and he was able to accomplish the repair without ordering any parts. Bottom line -- an excellent job at reasonable cost.

    The fellow came twice. The first time he sad he did compression tests and could find nothing wrong. He reset the vacuum condenser light and charged $80 for service call. The second time all the problems existed and the vacuum condenser light had come on again. He did some pressure tests, say the heavy frost in the freezer and called Sub-Zero. After call he said he couldn't figure it out and left having accomplished nothing. There was no charge for the second visit. Nice fellow but certainly no help whatsoever.

    Like all appliance repair there is a charge just to come in the door.  So you need to be sure the price isnt better put toward a new apppliance, sort of that grey area between warranty coverage and junk pile. In this case I had a pretty good idea what was wrong.  So he has to come over and see it, then come back later and install the part.  I don't know about if you already have the part.  It's hard to see and reach the work for the oven, so it was worth it for me.  Obviously you need to know what you are doing before messijng around with a gas stove, hence the need for a professional.

    I received a phone call the day before the appointment from a lady in the office to confirm the date and time of the appointment.I also received a call the day of the appointment letting me know the technician would be on time. Technician arrived in alloted time window. His appearance was neat and clean.He introduced himself and asked me to describe the problem and show him appliance.He knew immediately what the problem was and explained in detail what he was going to do.The repairs were done in 45 minutes.He cleaned up any mess from his work and explained the repair warranty.I paid him and received a receipt for the repairs.I tried to tip him and he declined to take it but i insisted.It was a pleasure doing business with this company.

    The service calls take a long time.  It takes at least a week to get an appointment.  I waited a month for a visit once!  You'll have to leave multiple messages to get a response.  Whatever is fixed might not be fixed and you might have to call them again and you will have to pay for the next visit.  If you aren't booking a new appointment to pay for service and just need their help explaining how to use a system they have installed do NOT expect to get a phone call returned or ANY help.

    I was very happy that they sent a service person on the first day back to work after a Holiday weekend at 8:30 am.  I only missed a few hours of work that day.  It was disappointing that the same parts had to be replaced this year as were fixed last year with another $200 charge. 

    The service man noticed that the ceiling grate needed to be repaired.  He pointed the grate out to me, but didn't fix it or make an appointment to fix it which was a disappointment.  It would have been nice if he said that he would stop by the next time that he was in my neighborhood.  The same thing happened last year when the a/c guy noticed the grate needed to be repaired.  I had planned to call the company to schedule the repair or replacement of the grate, but I who wants to spend ANOTHER $120 (plus parts and labor) on a home visit unless something else is wrong on the same day?  I wish I would have remembered the grate when I made this appointment.  The grate is an unusal size.  Last year and this year I mentioned to the service person that I would like to have a new hole cut that is a standard size so that I can buy a/c filters at Home Depot or at the grocery store.  I can't buy the filters to fit my a/c ANYWHERE (frustrating!).  I've spent hours on line searching for the filters and can't find them.  I have to special order the filters through this company (who installed the system and cut the hole).  Or, I have to get the kind of filter that you cut to fit the openning which takes time and extra effort.
