    In 2004 Margaret Ann Test an older retired nun (with Alzheimer )living alone in her home in 7000 Blind Pass rd, StPete Beach FL.3706 was tricked/scammed by a Dealer for HAGUE water softener company(Sayler���s Suncoast Water 3851 62nd Ave N, Suite F, Pinellas Park, FL 33781, Phone: 727-526-1151 Email: )to buy and install a water softener Hague Watermax on her property. They convinced her that city water is badly "contaminated" and she needs that softener to "clean" the water. The installation was never finished. Margaret was not able to fight the Hague dealer and soon after she permanently moved to a nursing home and her house was empty until 2014 when I bought it. Taking advantage of her age and inability to make rational decisions, Sayler���s Suncoast Water charged her about $6000 ,but did a mockery of installation, they improperly installed the water softener in the wrong location in violation of county electrical and plumbing code as well in violation the Hague installation manual: 1. It was placed outside unprotected from sun /rain/wind.(the Hague manual say on pg 10": H. For outside installations, the appliance should be enclosed so it is protected from the weather.") 2.The drain tube was hanging unsupported, draining water in the flower bed outside ?,not connected to a drain as specified by installation instructions in the manual and in violation of county plumbing codes. Hague installation manual say pg 8:"Drain the appliance to an appropriate drain, such as a floor drain or washer drain that will comply with all local and state plumbing codes." 3.The power source was not available nearby, and Hague never bother to install an outside plug as electrical code requires, so the transformer was recklessly plugged inside the bedroom, 10ft away, hanging with unprotected exposed wire connectors passing through a open window (see pictures) This is a gross County electrical code violation. In order to pass house inspection In 2014, when I bought the house I had to hire an electrician to install an outside outlet .(see attached home inspection report) After I moved into the house in an effort to make the softener to work, in December 2018, I contacted by phone the above dealer about the Hague Watermax system control displays "Clock chip fail" (6 button control). They said It needs replacement . The manual recommended controller part #54012 or #54050 is not available from the Hague dealers anymore and they try to sell me the new /updated ST-200 Smart Touch Control =$362(uninstalled) . Why the old controllers are not made anymore? are they recalled as defective? They refused to replace it citing warranty limitations ignoring the fact that due improper installation in wet conditions unprotected, caused the controller to fail prematurely before the 25 years expected warranty. If Sayler���s Suncoast Water would have had installed the unit correctly and protected the power source and controller from whether, probably it would not fail that soon since it is warranted 25 years. The owner manual shows on pg. 2 that even the warranty for this softener is 25years ,it expire after 10 years when the customer has to pay 100% repair cost. How is legally possible a 25 years warranty to expire in 10years? Why Hague discontinue parts after 14years when the warranty is 25years?. They have an obligation to supply same parts # for the units sold/installed at least for the duration of the warranty . I contacted Hague customer service (Eric Parrish Technical Manager Hague Quality Water International) sent him pictures of the unit and he agreed that there is an installation issue and advised me to contact the dealer who did it. But Sayler���s Suncoast Water has no interest to solve the problem they created, (email from Alan Sayler, President of Sayler's Suncoast Water) and to add insult to injury he suggested that the previous owner or me changed the unit location? this is incredible deceiving strategy to make customer responsible for their sloppy work. I contacted the neighbor that cared for Margaret and he confirmed the unit was in the same place from the beginning and placed on the same original concrete slab Hague dealer provided. In conclusion Hague delegated the dealer to solve the faulty installation problem but the dealer refused and blame it on Hague 25 years warranty policy that expired after 10 years! Problem solved. To test the Florida dealer Hague policy, I called 3 different Hague independent dealers in central Florida and all of them asked different prices over $300 for the controller but Sayler���s Suncoast Water was the most (unjustified)expensive and the only one that wants additional programming and installation fees ? all others included programming and installation in the price. There is no consistent policy of Hague dealer part prices structure of what and how much the Hague dealer can overcharge a customer as long the Hague is paid. The only interest Alan has is to overcharge me exorbitant service fees starting with the time they wake up in the morning ( $90.00 for a service call for the first 30 minutes and then $20.00 for each quarter hour after that, plus parts) this is a doctor or lawyer fee not an appliance technician fee. Incredibly they want to charge me this rip-off service fee to come to my house only to "evaluate" their own butchered installation they did in 2004 not to fix it. Does not even crossed their mind that they are responsible for this bad code violation installation also their own company installation guide. Hague cannot claim any protection from the Warranty conditions due to improper installation. When Hague install it wrong Hague violated its own installation rules -so Hague lost any right to apply warranty limitation to this unit. Warranty limitations does not apply to faulty installation -inside 25 years there is no time limitation for problems generated by improper installation. Only if Hague followed its own installation rules, then Hague had the right to apply to me Hague warranty conditions. Since Hague violated company installation conditions the Hague co. and dealer are not protected by warranty limitation(owner or time)anymore. In this conditions I don't feel is my responsibility to pay 100% cost of the new controller after 14 years. I request Hague dealer Sayler���s Suncoast Water to fix the softener unit . Since the unit is my house now, and I own the damaged softener it is irrelevant who was the original owner. This is not only about Hague warranty, but about damaged softener by Hague negligence .Since the softener is permanently attached to my house plumbing system and it cannot be removed without professional assistance ,it presents a hazard for fire /flood liability. A normal company should be concerned about their dealers gross installation policy violations and they may want to correct it, as it affects the products reputation. This is about professional integrity and public image. Hague does not care about all this. All they want is to milk more money from a victimized customer without fixing anything. I filed formal complaint with BBB and Consumer protection Agency in an effort Hague will be forced to act professional and accepts responsibility for their damage or mistakes. They ignore it, and never responded to their official requests. I certainly hope that FL Attorney General���s Office will investigate and not tolerate Hague Quality Water International abusive business practice to senior citizens.

    Great. We hired them to help fix an existing water softener that has never worked properly. (another company sold it to us and installed it.) they were able to pinpoint the problem that 2 plumbers missed. We wanted some additional water conditioning options, and ended up purchasing a new system through them. The installation went well &, the system has been working great.

    All service done promptly, expertly and courteously. And price was reasonable and less than several other plumbers we have used (who provided good service but were much more expensive) The best news was Pro-Tech replacing our water softener and installing a new unit. In my experience many plumbers do not service or install water softeners and these appliances sort of fall into a "gray area" between plumbing and dedicated water treatment service companies. To my pleasant surprise, Pro-Tech installed a new water softener which is a much higher quality unit than the mass market products sold at major home improvement stores like Home Depot or Lowes, or at Sears. BUT! The Pro-Tech unit was hundreds of dollars less expensive (installed!) than the units I had received quotes on from dedicated water treatment/softener companies. AND Pro-Tech's unit comes with a 5 year warranty. While not cheap, the unit installed by Pro-Tech was installed cleanly, correctly and the skills involved (sweating pipe, putting on new plumbing connectors, etc.) were way beyond my handyman skills. And it's working like a charm. Great experience all around.

    It was a nightmare, stay away!!  I will start with the worst part.  Dwayne Littlejohn, the owner, apparently has his ex-wife, or estranged wife, JoAnne, as his secretary/receptionist.  She told me to PLEASE help her get his assistant/girlfriend, Marisol, fired because she doesn't like her.  Naturally, I didn't want to get involved in my contractor's domestic problems so I told Dwayne what JoAnne said to me.  This was Dwayne's text back to me: "I noticed your laziness by your negligent of insulating your wall in the shower area that's what your GF said anyway.  She also mentioned your a wanna be lawyer that had to take a pee on Assistant suck a** job LOL."  In addition to that, I get a text from JoAnne saying "Why did you tell Dwayne stuff that was not true, u started a big war, shame on you and u call ur self a professional LOL.  My God and u are an attorney what is wrong with you I should of know better attorney want everything free and there jealous of trades."  I'm sorry, but I fail to understand why I'm the bad guy here.  You are my contractor and I am the client, let 's keep it professional and not tell each other about our personal problems.  I received numerous phone calls and voice mails after that from JoAnne harassing me and telling me they weren't going to finish the rest of the job now, but that I still had to complete my end of the bargain and pay them the remaining balance, and even threatened to come by my work to collect.  When I spoke with my city's Permitting Department they told me they were also getting harassing phone calls from her, and had to tell her to stop calling. 
    If for some reason that is not enough to send you running for the hills and you still decide to hire Dwayne, please at least make sure you don't pay for Marisol's time.  She means well, and she's his girlfriend so I get that he's trying to help her out, but she doesn't seem to know too much in my opinion.  One time I even overheard her tell Dwayne, completely frustrated and practically crying, that she doesn't know anything.  He had to help her finish the work he'd assigned her, which delayed things.
    On TWO occasions I noticed that Dwayne did something wrong so I asked him to fix it.  One of them was that the water line going up to the shower head was uneven.  Almost a week after I told him about it, it was still not fixed so I reminded him.  He said he'd take care of it.  The very next day I come home from work to find that not only was it still uneven, but he had nailed the backerboard to the wall without fixing it!!   The other thing that he did wrong was that the shower curb he made was too short.  He fixed it and made it taller.  But if I had not noticed it and said something, we'd have puddles in our bathroom right now!!  So now I'm left to wonder what other things he did wrong that I didn't happen to catch.
    We also had initially agreed on a two-week time frame to finish the job.  They went on vacation and after two-months they were only about half-way finished.  He tried to blame me, and then my HOA company, for the delay and didn't own up to any of it.  I promise you that my HOA and I were 0% responsible for this delay.  When he told me that he needed approval from the HOA on something before he could do the work, I called the HOA president from my cell phone that very moment and within 3 minutes he had his approval.  Weeks later when we argued about his progress he seemed to recall those details differently, stating that it took over a week to get the approval. 
    Lastly, they put a lien on my condo because I refused to pay for work that THEY cancelled.  They provided me with a demand letter that had completely made up charges.  I formally contested the lien over 2 months ago and they never filed a lawsuit, so now it is too late.  Sorry to any people that hired them in the past 2 months but I didn't want to leave any feedback until now because I didn't want them to retaliate against me for telling the truth.

    Told that entire system was non-functional and needed to be replaced at a cost of $800-$1300. Got a 2nd opinion and our water tested with current system and found to be perfectly balanced with no need for a whole-system replacement.

    Yes we did purchase a big deal and we did use them.  We have them last week before last because they came out and did the initial assessment and then we did do a whole new water treatment system from them so they came out last week and put that in.  The approximate cost of their service $17000 for the whole existing system had to be replaced.  It was excellent.  They did an awesome job, did everything we wanted, relocated the new system and dug up the old one.  They did a great job.

    They were arrived about 5 minutes early.They removed the old equipment and carted it away.
    They cleaned up after themselves and expllained the salt which should be used, not the salt I had been using.
    Told me that I should return the salt that I have and get the correct salt which will be cheaper.
