    My mother had the air conditioning serviced at her 1100 sq ft home today under the maintenance contract that she paid for 2 years ago. When I got to her house, she told me that something ate thru the duct work that she replaced about 3 years ago. Also, she said that he was already in the attic and that he had photos to prove it. Well, he came down from the attic, drenched in sweat and showed me the photos, (honestly that could of been anyone���s chewed up duct holes-I would never know the difference) and said very nonchalant that replacing the ducts would cost $6800! Still not realizing that the duct tape repairs that he was doing was costing her $1200!!! Again, a maximum of 7-8 ducts. So when I overheard him talking about the price, I interrupted. After a 10 minute debate he said that he could do it for $800. So, feeling immediately concerned that my mother was being taken Upriver, I called a friend of mine. He quickly verified that my assumptions were correct. The owner of the company that he works for (ref/ac co) also confirmed that it was astronomical! So while I had my friend on the phone, I yelled to the guy to come out of the attic and to leave. Well, he wasn���t too happy about that and there was a bit of a shouting match. To make a very long story short, she ended up paying $629. He was unable to finish the job since I ushered him out of the attic. I���m posting this so that others know to watch after their parents. These companies seem to pray on older people. I can���t tell you the thousands of dollars that she has given away basically for unneeded goods. Water softeners storm shutters vacuum cleaners now air ducts. And if you were ever a difficult child, no worries...your stepping up now to help the new children (parents) of our generation. Just a footnote: She had no clue that she was being overcharged and/or taken to the cleaners

    My name is Stephanie. We ended up replacing our 12 year old AC system with Dan and Professor Cool. What a blessing he and have s company were. He was honest. Showed up when he said and found a few more things than the previous company that was out. I appreaciate the attention to detail and explaining the return air and why we needed to add it. I feel he was way more experienced than the previous techs. His passion clearly showed.

    Excellent. Met with several AC companies to obtain quotes. Devin the owner of Just TCB was one of the lowest quotes and actually made suggestions that saved us money. Very knowledgeable. Very straight forward and honest. Hired him to install the new AC. Also had him install a bathroom fan and room vents. Work was done as scheduled and was a high quality job. I liked that he owns the company and does the work himself.

    Well I guess under the circumstances I'd give them an "A" for overall service. I'd definitely give them an "A" for quality. I'd give them an "A" for punctuality too. To get people to show up on time is sometimes a miracle or to show up at all.

    I was outside doing yardwork when the installer showed up. He smiled and I said hello and pointed to the door because my wife was inside. He went inside and began working while I was outside on the front lawn. He wasn't inside very long and I guess must have told my wife she was finished. She told him I was outside and to let me know. The man then walked out of the house waved at me and went back to his work truck. Then he pulled away. I didn't think anything of it as installing a thermostat is a fairly simple process. Like I said earlier, I only paid the $99 because the service advertised a nicer thermostat and also advertised "expert advice on programming the thermostat. So when I walked inside and saw the thermostat he actually put on the wall I was not happy at all. The Honeywell thermostat he installed was barely a model above the one I had already had on the wall. It only had it one additional button which enabled some type of program for the house. I found out from my wife that the guy who installed it didn't really speak a word of English other than to be able to say yes and no and nod his head up-and-down. So he offered absolutely NO advice to my wife as to how she was supposed to program the thermostat. I immediately lookedsearched the thermostat online and found it on amazon and at Target for under $60. I found it for under $50 in some places. So...I paid them $100 for a $40-$50 thermostat that could have been installed by my 10 year old son. Plus, the installer didn't speak a word of English. **Although he WAS very friendly. I am sure he was a very nice guy. But we couldn't speak to him** I contacted Angie's List and had someone on the phone who seemed VERY sympathetic and made me feel as if my concern was extremely valid and she would help me resolve this right away. I felt relieved....However, that was absolutely not how it was handled. A man named Iann Matlock, a manager from the Angie's List eCommerce Support Team, emailed me and, in short, told me that they cannot help me and the only thing I can do is contact the vendor and attemp to get the problem fixed through them. That's right, all of this touting and advertising about getting verified reliable vendors through Angie's List yet they would not lift a finger to do much as give me my $100 back and hold Heavens Breeze accountable for their false advertising. I was told that in the "fine print" section it states that the thermostat is a Honeywell 5000 and that is what they installed. So they advertise a Honeywell Touch Screen 7-Day thermostat, but you need to read the fine print and know that the Honeywell 5000 is not the one they advertise. Completely unacceptable. I've included photos of what they installed vs. what they advertised below. I have contacted the company but no answer. I left a message with return phone number explaining that I simply wanted my money back and why I was unsatisfied. I was polite and respectful. They have not returned my call. Angie's List had also not offered any further assistance.

    Along with annual service, I was sold an extra air cleaning system plus a 2 year HVAC energy "savings" agreement in the process. A couple weeks later the system died, and based on replacement estimates (more than double what other reputable companies quoted), I decided to have a different company replace it. For the $800+ I had spent with Climate Design, CD refunded $27, saying I had received "discounts" on several items. As I found out too late, they have a reputation as scammers; don't know why they are getting any good ratings except people happened to have good luck.
