  • Initial Tech who came out diagnosed the problem quickly, however didn't have the part to repair the appliance. One was ordered on Aug 7th.  I received a call on Aug.13th to make an appointment for the tech to return to put in 'new' part. Different Tech from the first time came and installed the part on August 14th. Appliance is currently working.

  • First off, they are very slow about responding to the service request. On each of 4 or 5 occasions, I had to call multiple times just to get a service number. The technicians they use were, in general, not motivated to get the appliance repaired, and were difficult to schedule within a reasonable time frame. For example, had a power surge that wiped out my refrigerator computer system and dishwasher. The earliest they would schedule me was two days out! I had to call in my own service tech who was kind enough to drop by a working refrigerator while he ordered a part. When he discovered he couldn't fix the refrigerator, I was forced to have First American send their techs over. For the next two weeks, their technicians replaced one part after another without getting the job done.  I recalled my original appliance repair guy who came over and immediately spotted that the previous techs had installed the water filter incorrectly and it was preventing the water and ice from working. 5 minutes later - all was good! I cannot warn people enough - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

  • I contacted them for a service call (the 1st time) on a ceiling fan in the master bedroom - neither one of the pull switches (light and fan speed ) were working properly.  the pull for the light switch did not work at all and the pull for the ceiling fan was too difficult to pull so I couldnt' change the speed.  I got a call from the electrician and he arranged a time to come to the house.  I had to take time off work to meet him.  When he got there, he said his work order only said the pull switch for the light so he refused to do anything about the pull for the fan speed.  I contacted AHS regarding this and the lady I spoke to went over and above to fix this.  She contacted the electrician directly and told me that they would contact me to arrange a time for the electrician to come out and fix the problem.  I did not hear from the electrician for over a week so I called them.  They did not have me on their call list to arrange the work (no surprise there!) but they went "online' and found it.  I again had to take off work to come to the house.  The same electrician came.  He looked at the ceiling fan and said "it is working".  I showed him that the pull chain to change the speed of the fan wasn't working properly.  It was so hard to pull that it kept breaking the chain and the speed would not change.  Fortunately, I had extra chains and the little chain connectors - and they used my supplies to add chains when the ones that were there kept breaking while trying to change the speed.  The electrician then told me that he could do nothing about the problem...
    WHY?  His ridiculous answer was that "it is working".....he went out to his vehicle and called AHS and told them to call me....he stuck his head back into the door and told me they were calling me just as the phone rang.  He then drove away and I spoke to AHS.  The rep from AHS proceeded to tell me that the electrician reported to them that the fan was "working" so they would not authorize any service on it.  I tried to explain to the rep that although it was "working" it was not working properly....I could not pull the chain to change the fan speed!!  He the told me that electrician had told them that I was "YANKING" the chain and that's why it kept breaking.  BULLCRAP.  I showed the electrician how the pull chains on the other ceiling fans in the house worked very easily by pulling it with 2 fingers...this one I could not pull easily and every time I pulled on it to change the speed of the fan it felt like I was pulling the fan off the ceiling - and the chain would break.  Well, bottom line....because the fan is 'WORKING" they refused to fix it.  To this day, I cannot pull on the chain to change the speed on that ceiling fan.  It's either on or off using the wall switch - which is a royal pain in the A**.  I am afraid of this situation - afraid to try to change the speed - for fear of it falling off the ceiling or causing a potential fire.
    I have to wonder....iwhat if I had to get another appliance fixed - say, a refrigerator....If the refrigerator was say "working" (but not cooling), would I again be denied service because the appliance is working?
    I purchased the AHS contract in good faith thinking that the purpose of the warranty was to keep my home in good working order. APPARENTLY NOT!!!  BUYER BEWARE!!

  • Repairman arrived on time and promptly identified the problem and dissembled the dryer and replaced the belt and tested dryer which functioned like new.

  • They do very well. I have had no problems with them at all and I’m very happy. It is the only warranty that I have. I would continue to use their service in the future.
