Hvac Repair reviews in South Palm Beach

    A & H Services Inc
As usual the technician was friendly and also, as usual, he came up with major repair suggestions for both of my two central a/c systems. This was four months ago. I had no repairs done and the systems are working fine. This same technician basically replaced every major component of a mini-split unit over the past year and it is now malfunctioning again. Simply put, this company cannot be trusted.

They cleared the condensation drain and added Freon to the unit. They did not check for leaks as this would have been an additional $ 159 charge. One day later the unit was no longer blowing cold air. Their technician came out and said there was no Freon in the system. As soon as he started to put a little Freon into the system, he could hear it coming out of the condenser coil. They charged $ 95 for the second service call which should have been detected in the first place. I told The technician that I didn't think that I should pay for the second visit. The quote that they subsequently gave me to replace the coil was 50% higher than a quote that I received from another company. Obviously, I chose the other company. John Cassidy Air Conditioning is are more interested in applying their strict, extremely high pricing practices, ticking the boxes, than they are at solving the needs of the customer.

I thought we needed to replace my furnace. So i called Walter to see if he could help, at first he was going to give us a new furnace at a highly discounted rate. He came out to our place and checked the furnace before the installation and ended up discovering it was only a thermostat issue, and that the furnace did not need to be replaced. So he fixed the thermostat, and only charged us $200 for the service. He is really great and extremely trust worthy! We absolutely love him!

Robert R McGill Air Conditioning Inc
$390 for a 30 minute service call. NO diagnostics were run. Me and the two men from McGill agreed that a humming compressor with no fan turning seems like a blown capacitor. They they removed two screws/cover and we could see the capacitor was damaged. They grabbed the part off their truck and replaced it, turned the breakers on and we had cold air. When ZIMMER AIR came to my home, it was $160 or the repair, and yes, we called them first but they were busy until the next morning, and Lance at ZIMMER warned my fianc to stay away from the companies with big adverts in the phone book for some reason. Shame on us for not asking the price up front. McGill charged me $272.00 for a 2-part capacitor that I can buy on Amazon for $30-40 all day long.

meanwhile, I played phone tag with Derek, who was going to explain the charges to me. I don't want explanations, I want at least $150 back on the job.

Go to google and type "how much to change a air conditioner capacitor?" and the answers were between 140-250, which was what I was expecting. Maybe they have a "Palm Beach Dahlings" charge they apply to the "Got-Rocks" of society? We're not them. So, let the buyer beware, McGill is in it for the money. My next contact will be with the Department of Professional Regulation, always go there and forget the BBB, they are defunct and worthless

PS: As far as promptness and professionalism on the part of the repair men, I give these guys a A. The price that followed is a fat"F".

    Direct Air Conditioning & Refrigeration
Tom is a likable people's person, he phoned from the parking to say he arrived, however, he performed very basic visual checking and the only technical check was the high/low pressure of the refrigerant and the supply temperature from the plenum.
He was there for about 30 minutes, most of it waiting for the compressor heat sensor to reset.
After he left I checked the list of 27 point and he performed less than half the points listed in the deal.
He offered to inspect and clean the drain for a fee which he said "is not included", I declined.
Tom offered a $234 annual 2 visits maintenance service plans with a 15% discount on parts only, and requested that I fill the Angie's list survey in front of him, which I declined to do.
I understand that the purpose of the deal is to drum-up business but customers need to be satisfied and confident.

    All County Contractors Inc
The project included demolition of the old kitchen including removal of the old cabinets, appliances, ceiling and floor and the installation of new kitchen based on architect's plans detailing the new layout. The project was led by an architect who was on the company payroll and was mainly executed by a team of two contractors who demolished old kitchen, put new floor, walls and ceiling, did required plumbing and painting and installed the new appliances and the cabinets. A licensed electrician did all electric work including rewiring and installing the new light fixtures. An A/C guy helped rerouting an A/C duct. A granite company installed the countertop. All County offered a poor selection of cabinets and the architect's rendering of the new layout was poor quality. We used our own architect's rendering of the new layout and provided the cabinets. In addition, we provided the tiles, light and plumbing fixtures and appliances making partial use of a list of providers that All County provided. During the demolition phase all went without a glitch. Workers showed up on time and worked full days until they finished. Then there were some instances of poor coordination when either nobody showed up for work or they showed up late or everybody (electrician, A/C guy and the general contractor team) showed up at the same time stepping on each other's toes. Our presence all through the project to catch issues in infancy did make a difference to the better although we were discouraged from being in residence during the project. The one area where we were very unhappy was the granite work provided by the European Granite and Stone company. In spite of the few almost inevitable hick-ups my overall rating of All County is still very favorable and I would have no hesitation to recommend them to other people. .

    Gulfstream Cooling Inc
I had an estimate from the A/C company that we had been using for years, but I wanted to get an alternative bid and I'm glad I did!

Our A/C was on its last legs so I checked Angie's List and found Gulfstream Cooling. I made contact through their website and Jason called me back later that afternoon. He came by the next morning and gave us two quotes for different systems.

It pays to shop around because his quote was a thousand dollars less than our usual company! And I was impressed with Jason's professionalism. Our system is in a small space over the bedroom closet. He noticed the drainage issues we were having and came up with a solution to keep the system working properly.

This happened Thursday. He was booked for Friday, but brought over a "spot cooler" to keep us sane over the weekend. His technicians came over Monday morning, removed the old system and installed the new one. It took about 8 hours.

I am thrilled with our new A/C! Jason and his team did a wonderful job! I can't recommend them enough! It's great when a contractor does what he promises and more! Highly recommended!

    Kyzar Heating & Air Conditioning
We highly recommend Kyzar, they are outstanding beyond the call of duty!
Their prices were reasonable, their management responsive, and their technicians excellent.
Jay(in sales) was very caring and very helpful in working with us and the manufacturer Trane, who provided us with a new coil as ours was defective for the second time. We commend Trane, for standing behind their product twice and this time just outside the warranty period.
When we called Kyzar on a Monday and spoke to Jay, our air conditioning system was not working, needless to say our hot Sunday night was miserable. Jay was immediately responsive?
He said let's get your system started fast to get you comfortable and then we can work with Trane on providing the part needed
That afternoon, Mike a technician was at our home and got our ac working so we could sleep through the night.
We paid a small fee which Kyzar assured us would be credited to the coil replacement?which it happily was.
I can not think of any company who cares about their potential customer with such empathy, honesty, and
    quick results.
We used Kyzar on two occasions in our Palm Beach home. They installed, at a very reasonable price,
a new coil on our outdoor air compressor unit and
at a later date performed duct work repair- Both servicemen,
Mike who installed the coil, and Joel who performed the duct repair
were very knowledgeable, courteous and couldn't do enough to satisfy us
and create a pleasant experience. The workman even spoke so well of their company and their policies.
If you don't use Kyzar you are making a big mistake. By this glowing recommendation,
you may think I am somehow affiliated with them, I assure you I am not.
I am simply a very particular business owner myself, who appreciates discovering a company
who aspires to excellence in customer service and on site service; who Say what they mean
and mean what they Say.   It is sadly rare in today's fast paced society.

Steve called when he was enroute at the time expected.  Appointment was just made the other day, a Saturday.  Very prompt service since they knew we didn't have good A/C during this hot spell.  Steve was very professional and personable.  Diagnosed a possible leak and took the appropriate action today and arranged for a follow-up.  Definitely will use them again and recommend them.

    Adam's Air & IR Technologies
The job was well done from beginning to end.  We were kept informed at all times on the progress.  Despite that the owner of the business and one of his top installers came down with the Flu in the middle of the job, they gave it all they had, working Saturday, Sunday and well into the nights to deliver a timely and thorough result.
Most importand, from the start, I was given the impression that providing neat and friendly service was their goal..  The was no one in their crew that I wouldn't be pleased to have as a member of my family!  They wore booties over their shoes; they used drop-cloths everywhere, and they removed pictures and furniture wherever their might have been any risk of dust.
