    Bolt Electric
We bought a and quot;Big Dealand quot; from Angies List for $99 for $259 of services from Bolt. The primary need was to get the outlets working again. I also wanted to get a rough idea of what it would cost to run ethernet cable to a couple of locations.
The office called us and scheduled a date and a time window. Cameron showed up when expected and was *extremely* informative and quite friendly. I'd tried earlier replacing several of the outlets (everything connected to a specific breaker had been dead since the lightening strike). And I'd tried swapping the breaker with another one. Nothing worked. Cameron took a look and stated quite diplomatically that this might just be an educational session :) ...I must have been doing something wrong, 'cause he simply turned the breaker off and then on and then everything worked.
Since we do have a ZapCap through Teco (local Tampa electric company), Cameron explained that the ZapCap (which sits out at the meter outside the house) protects us from surges coming from Teco's lines. The lightening strike hadn't come from the power lines themselves, so the ZapCap may not have really been at play. Even with our many battery backup units and surge protectors, we also had a TV killed by the lightening. I'd been thinking about a whole house surge protector for a long time. Cameron said he had those in the van and could do that in about 10 minutes. For those who know of Mike Holmes, it's the model he recommends. Yes, I could go to Home Depot and buy this same unit for $118, but I would have needed hours (or more) to figure out how to hook it up. It's easy if you know where to hook the wires. We are VERY happy that a competent electrician installed this device, and are quite happy to pay a little for the expertise!
We'll definitely call Bolt again if the need should arise for electrical services (which could include running some ethernet cable) :)
