Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Sebastian

    Precision Garage Door Service
The technician was very courteous and friendly. Within five minutes of his initial inspection, he said I needed new springs and some bearings...all to the tune of $664.00! I've had this happen to me one time before with a HVAC deal I bought. That tech came out and said I needed an HVAC overhaul that would have set me back over $1K. I think these companies train their techs to "scare" customers into thinking they need additional unwanted/unneeded services and parts. I told my garage door tech to just give me my $99.00 deal and leave it at that. He proceeded to change-out my metal wheels for nylon wheels and I had to get back to what I was doing in my backyard. He was in the garage for about an hour and during this time toward the end of his service call, I heard quite a bit of loud metal-on-metal banging. I was unable to stop what I was doing to investigate and by the time I was able to, the banging had stopped and when I entered the garage, he was busy packing up his stuff. I asked him if it was him that was making all that racket, he said yes, but he offered no explanation for the banging. As a matter of fact, he offered no review of what he did. The door sounds significantly quieter, but I have no idea if any adjustments were made as part of their 25-point safety check. The tech did forward an email copy of his evaluation and recommendations which basically recapped everything he said was wrong! I asked him why he thought the technician who serviced my door a year ago didn't raise any of these issues. He was dead silent. I did go online to check out how you can determine if your springs are going bad. According to what I read, my springs are OK. As for the bearings, I could find no information. Was it worth paying $99.00 to have my metal wheels replaced with nylon ones? Yeah. But I have no idea if this tech lubed all moving parts and tightened or replaced any loose or missing screws and bolts. I still have no idea what all that metal banging was. For all I know, he made that racket to make it sound like he was doing something. OR he knocking something out of wack that will cause my door to be inoperable in the near future?!

Customer service was excellent from setting appointment to completion of work. Our technician was Casey and he was very professional form the moment he arrived. He installed the new nylon rollers and adjusted the door so that it operates better than ever. He also gave me some maintenance tips.. Awesome company that I highly recommend.

The tech checked out the door mechanics and serviced them and replaced the rollers.  The service was good and I have no complaints and would use them again.  One thing did surprise me as I had contracted for this service by purchasing it from Angie's List for 110.00, but the service man said my garage door was larger than a normal door so it cost me an addition 40.00.  I was also surprised when the tech could not activate a new remote that I had purchased.  I did not have any instructions for the remote, but was able to activate it myself after he left with out a problem, but as I said the service that was provided was fine - activating the remote was an additional request and not included in the service agreement.

    Tropical Doors Inc
My tenant was having a problem with the garage doors.  I checked Angies's List for repair men.  I selected a company that was rated A.  Precision Doors, came twice with 2 different repair men.  All they did was frighten me and my tenant.  Just by looking they decided that we needed to replace ALL the springs and the garage door opener!  They would not try to balance, oil, repair the springs. They practically hung yellow tape around the garage condemning it! They were TERRIBLE, they were not repair men, just salesmen.  Then I went back to Angie's List and called Tropical Doors, Inc. Enter Jeff, from Tropical Doors.  Jeff looked at the problem, tightened the springs, balanced the doors and oiled all of the parts.  The doors now work well. He ( as did the other men) said that our garage door opener was a bad model and that it should eventually be replaced.  He gave us some suggestions for new door openers  He did NOT tell us that the opener would blow up nor that the door would come crashing down on children or old people, or that my tenants would be trapped in the house in case of a hurricane!  Jeff was polite, efficient and professional.  I will definitely call Tropical Doors, Inc when the time comes to replace my garage door opener.

    ABCO Garage Company, Inc
I WISH I found this company a year or two ago.  I used another company when my door spring broke and they up sold me on lots and lots of stuff.  I was happy with there service and work but looking back I think I was over charged.  I asked this older company for the same quote not only did they call me at 8am when I asked for PM call as I work night shifts they quoted me a verbal price over the phone - no email no nothing and that price was ABSURD.  Lets say that companies "Precision" was off - BIG TIME!  I'll never call them again...period!
I looked more and found ABCO.
ABCO Garage Door Company - well not only blew their price quote out of the water by $150. They responded via email with written quote.  Made adjustments to the quote quickly. Got me on the schedule the next day at a time I requested.
Next day came, they showed up - RIGHT ON TIME.  Drove a professional truck and were in company logo shirts.  All which you expect from a good company.
The install went smooth as can be.  They were in and out in an hour or so.  The showed me things worked. They help me setup the key code for the exterior key pad.  Helped setup the home link system and all.
On top of that they provided me a Manufactures Rebate for a free Home Gateway - so I could hook up to my alarm system - The other wanted to charge for that and didn't offer anything like that.  This was provided to me with the ESTIMATE so you knew it going in.  This saves me another $80 I think...yah I have to wait a few weeks to get it - but free is free right?
All in all - Who will I call and recommend to others when garage door repair is needed - ABCO for sure!

    All Pro Garage Doors
Having previously had a bad experience purchasing a garage door through a home improvement store and letting them hire a sub to install it (improperly), I checked with Angie's List. They supplied a list of highly rated installers so I called around for estimates. All Pro beat our highest estimate by $1200 (for the exact same job)! The installation was completed on time, exactly on budget by courteous technicians. I can't emphasize enough the importance of 1) Dealing directly with the installer company (not a home improvement store) and most importantly 2) Get multiple estimates. My experience with All Pro was great..... Thanks

    ABCO Garage Company, Inc
The garage door was not working for a few months as it was off the track and I finally decided to call a company. When I called ABCO the receptionist was very pleasant and scheduled Jim to come the next morning. Jim called me at 8:00 am and said he would be there around 10:00 am as he had another service call. Jim arrived on time and immediately started working on the garage door. This door is from 1991. Jim showed me the broken cable & bracket. He was very courteous and professional. I could have kissed him when I received a bill of only $144.35 for all the work that he had done. He said we only sell you what you need. Thank God for companies like this that are honest. I highly recommend ABCO.

    Accurate Group of Florida Inc
Once again, Franz Hyatt was up to the task. I had used him last year to install a screen in front of my garage door with fantastic results. Now we decieded to install accordions to replace the corrugated panels that came with the house. We're not getting any younger and don't want to be lugging steel panels around. From estimate to the final cleanup, Franz is top-notch. This price might seem a little high, but a few things to note. First, we have 2, 106" wide windows in front of the house which are bigger than normal. Second we wanted to enclose the entire lanai in rather than individual windows and sliders. Also we wanted to recess the bottom track into the concrete deck. This is labor intense process as it took 3 hours just to cut the concrete for the recessed track, but Franz explained all of this at the time of the estimate and told us of the extra cost. It was our decision to accept the added cost and it was worth it to us. It turned out beautiful. I would highly reccomend Accurate Group and Franz Hyatt to anyone needing his scope of services.

    Precision Garage Door Service
Called to make an appointment and was told the tech could be there the same day between 11:00 and 1:00 pm. Got another call at about 11:00 and was told he would be here in about 20 minutes. The technician, Neil, arrived and got right to work inspecting the door and explaining what he would be doing.  The door has been very noisy and is 13 years old so I expected it would need some additional work beyond the "tune up" .  Neil pointed out the issues with the cables and springs and told me about their garage door overhaul but did not pressure me into purchasing it.  I decided to go with the overhaul and get everything done at once  and get the lifetime warranty on the parts. Now the door opens very nicely and is very quiet.

We were given a 2 hour window when we made the appointment. The technician Rob Stephenson called on the day of the appointment to say that he was 30 minutes away.  He showed up on the beginning time of our window.  Gave us an estimate in 5 minutes and had the new tension springs installed in less than an hour.  He was very knowledgable and personable.  We will do business with him and the company again.
