    They take good care of me very, very good. They have individual rooms and you don't have to share a room with anybody because everybody is there for a pretty serious issues. The majority of the people there are very nice and responsive.

    I went in first for all the usual pre-op screening stuff. That went fine, people were very nice, took longer than it should have and I had to walk a very long way to get the required x-ray (next time, I'll take the offer of a wheel-chair ride!)
    I checked in the morning of surgery and they were VERY SQUIRRELLY about bringing my husband back to be with me in the pre-op area. They did absolutely NOTHING to me (not even talked to me) for the first 45 minutes I was back there and then I got three different reasons for their 'policy' on not calling spouses back until you were basically ready to go into the OR. As this was my 17th surgery and my husband had been with me for many of the previous ones, it was frustrating. Their policy stinks on this is NOT patient oriented. They did bring him back eventually. The blankets are NOT warm enough - another policy of the hospital, I was told. Another lousy policy in my opinion. It is cold back there when you not doing anything.
    Surgery went fine (I was out so I have no details to share on this). I don't really remember the recovery area although I know I went there for a while. I eventually was shown to my room and my husband appeared shortly thereafter.
    The room was wonderful. The nurses COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER!!!! they were caring, responsive, and pro-active (calling the doc for changes to meds when they thought they were needed). I was very impressed with them.
    The staff is seriously over worked with nurses having to do stuff that is normally done by aides in other hospitals. There are no volunteers. I felt that I shouldn't really ask for any help that was not absolutely needed. I was perpetually out of water to drink as they just bring you one small cup at a time.
    The PT people were pretty invisible, appearing once to walk me about 20 feet and then leave me in a chair and then again the next day to walk me all the way down the VERY LONG HALL to a PT 'class' which lasted all of 15 minutes and imparted very little useful information. Compared to my prior experience when I had my other knee replaced at a Duke hospital, I was sorely disappointed in the PT support.
    The daily visit from the department heads was a nice touch but appeared basically useless when it became clear that they didn't actually want to hear any of my complaints or suggestions but were just going through the motions. Their answers were very defensive.
    The patient representative also stopped in for a useless visit as well. He asked how my care had been while there. I answered that it had been adequate. He then asked another unrelated question and left - obviously he thought 'adequate' was good enough, I guess. The same person turned up to be the 'volunteer' who wheeled me out to the car when I left. The PT people had not helped me with any suggestions as to how to get into the car and the volunteer pushing me hadn't a clue. I eventually figured it out but it was a tricky puzzle to be sure.

    The technologist was wonderful and very profesional. We chatted throughout the exam and Iearned a lot that doctors never tell you. The registration process sure needs a major overhaul. I have been there numerous times and the staff is OK but did not seem happy about their job.

    They have branches all over Maryland.  They always have the top doctors.  They are up to date on the latest practices.  The effectiveness of the treatment in my granddaughter’s case was not so great.

    There is a pretty long wait because it is a public hospital. But once you get in a room the doctor comes in pretty fast. We also use the labs for blood work and other treatments. All the service is fantastic, the staff are very friendly and customer oriented. We would use them again in the future if needed.

    This was a very negative experience. I was sent home after 3 and half weeks even though I still had severe nausia. It was so bad that I was only home for one night, and I was admitted again for a week. They sent me home again with it still continuing, and I had to be readmitted again and the nausia still continued. I was released again after 12 days even though I was still was having constant issues with the nausia. My daughter then recommended that I went to see a therapist, and the therapist suggested that I get a probiotic for the nausia. My symptoms were gone within hours, and the doctors never recommended this to me but just continued to pump me with prescription medicine which didn't work.

    In Nov of 2009, I went to get a mammogram. The mammo came back not looking right. So, i got an ultrasound, and then a biopsy, in which I was told that I was cancer free, by Dr. Finazzos nurse. In April of 2010, my husband found a lump on my breast, so I called my OB/GYN doctor, and had another mammo, and biopsy. It turns out that I had stage 3 cancer that had spread into my lymphnodes. I asked my oncologist how long this had been brewing, and he said about a year. Well, Ive had a heck of a year, and Im swimming in medical debt, as one can imagine. My prognosis is 50/50 chance of survival. I just wish I knew earlier that I had cancer.
