Appliance Repair reviews in Sarasota

  • Our family has a home in Sarasota Florida. We arrived the week of October 21st to check out our home prior to returning the first of the year. Our refrigerator was making a loud noise (grinding type sound) when the compressor was active. We looked in Angie's list and found a refrigerator repair company "Affordable" which had a great ratings. I called the local number 941-363-0909 to put in a service order. We explained that were were only here for the week and we needed service this week. The attendant said no problem and scheduled a service call between 1 pm and 5 pm. At 4:15 I called the office again and reported that I have not received any calls from the service person and was concerned that it was getting close to 5 pm. We waited until 6 pm, no call or no service. To net it out, Affordable Appliance dropped the ball. We called another service company. While Affordable may provide good service, they totally dropped the ball and wasted our time......

  • Kirk came from Britts, said he looked at the belt and it was fine and told us we needed a new Idler which he had to order because he did not have one in his van. He did have belts which would have made it the simple fix it turned out to be. Ten days later he came with the Idler, put it in and told us it wasn't the problem at all, it was, indeed, the belt! He put in the new belt, reassembled the machine and left. Immediately we noticed there was a rattling sound whenever we touched the machine and then when we ran it, the sound was even more evident. I did notify Britts and they said they would come out and check the problem for us. After the foolishness we experienced with the incompetence of their repair man, I instead contacted Samsung directly and asked them for their help. They sent their tech man who spent well over an hour taking the machine apart and then reassembling it because, he said, Britts had not leveled the machine and reassembled it properly which was causing the rattling noise we were experiencing. He was surprised that the Britts repair man had missed the belt problem because he said it should have been the first thing checked on a new machine causing problems. Britts charged me $282 for their poor service, two service calls and our lack of a dryer for over a week while they supposedly ordered the part that was not needed at all. The entire event should have been a simple one visit, belt replacement service call but instead their service man, I believe, saw an opportunity to double charge us by his misdiagnosis of our original problem. Further, I believe his reassembly of the machine was done in such a way as to require another service call to us to address our rattling problem and then they could have charged us for even another service call. Fortunately I contacted Samsung directly first. The reviews for Britts are not good at all and, had I been smart enough to check them out before they came, I would never have allowed them in my home! Anyone who uses them after reading their history is making a serious mistake and I urge them to stay as far away from this company as possible.

  • I did NOT want to spend upwards of $1400 on a new Washer/Dryer set (cause lets be honest you know you are gonna buy both) so I was hoping I could find someone Honest and with a lot of experience fixing older model Kenmore Washers. I was looking for someone with Integrity that would advise me if my Washer/Dryer set was worth fixing and keeping or to not throw good money after bad and just bite the bullet and buy the new $1400.00 set. I found that person in Sergei at A+ Appliance Repair. Super Fast, Super Friendly, Timely, Honest, Knowledgeable (20+ years with Sear's Kenmore Appliance Repair) and most importantly Fairly Priced. He was in and out in under 20 minutes. My 22 year old Kenmore Washer was spinning away as he pulled out of my driveway. What can I say...... I found my Go To Appliance Repairman. Thank You, Sergei!!

  • NIGHTMARE! The humidity level where I live MUST be no higher than 60%. so I use a freestanding temp/humidity monitor and check it several times a day. On May 16th, Badger Bob did an annual AC checkup in the condo I rent. Since the AC unit ran too frequently I asked their person to see if he could find a problem. He didn't find any issue but shortly after he left the humidity started to increase. I turned the air temp down to reduce the humdiity but it kept rising. It quickly reached 94% so I bought a dehumidifier and called the condo's owner. She contacted Badger Bob again since the unit is under contract. By the time the technician arrived, the dehumidifier had been running for several days and the humidity level was 55-60%. I asked the tech to find out why the AC unit ran constantly but didn't reduce the humidity. He seemed quite elated when he found two wires were touching and said that caused the heat to turn on as soon as the air turned off. He said it was why the AC ran so much and also was causing the high humidity. He fixed it and left. However, the owner received a BILL claiming the tech had not found any issue and said I was reading the humidity level upside down. That’s totally impossible - see attached. It cannopt be read "upside down." After my landlady contacted me, I contacted Badger Bob by phone and responded to my landlady by email and copied Badger Bob. My landlady understood what happened after receiving the email. Badger Bob did NOT respond to the email. A manager returned my phone last week but no one apologized or contacted me about a solution. Worst, rudest service I have ever experienced. I would NOT recommend this company.

  • Excellent! The options for the new system were explained without any pressure. I called with questions several times, and someone was always available. With follow-up service, people came on time and were polite and affable. Well-informed and answered any questions.

  • Came on time. Started right to work. Knew what was probably wrong. Asked for towels, just in case. (Washer was still full of water at this point). Completed, machine back in working order, area cleaned up. Showed me the problem and what he removed from the motor. $169.00. All in less than 30 minutes! This is the second time they have come through for me. I will definitely call them again and also refer them to my neighbors!

  • Was repaired quickly and efficiently. No problems since. However, original plastic parts were replaced by metal. Very expensive parts, and service call. Next time I’ll consider alternative service to get competitive pricing.

  • The service person, Chrishad was very courteous and professional. He replaced and repaired our dishwasher which stopped working because of a broken motor. He called me in advance to let me know ETA and worked efficiently until he completed the task. Gave me a good instruction about operating again. I also appreciated him sharing his honest and personal thoughts about appliances in general. We would hire them again in the future,

  • Sergei was here promptly...exactly to the minute he said he would be here...7:45 a.m. He fixed it. No parts were needed so I only paid the charge for the service call. He worked with Sears for 19 years. He knows what he is doing and he was very honest and professional. I am a Realtor and am always looking for vendors that I feel comfortable recommending to my clients. I will highly recommend A Plus Appliance Repair to any and all clients needing appliance repair or service. A+++++
