Electrician reviews in Sanibel

  • Fantastic. The young man who showed up was prompt, extremely polite and professional. He worked continuously until the job was done. The ceiling fan was quite heavy and I offered assistance to lift it, however he didn't need any help. Apparently he's done this hundreds of times before and was very self sufficient. Great experience over all.

  • It went okay. They showed up when they were supposed to and he did the work well but I found that it was exceptionally expensive. I ended up paying $700 over and above the $200 I was supposed to be credited for. Which means it was terribly, terribly expensive for 5 light fixtures.
I had asked for a price list and they didn't send it to me. When he got here he showed me the price list. I had one ceiling fan, one bathroom exhaust fan, and three normal lights and that added up to almost $700 right there. I thought it was exceptionally expensive. As it was, I had 3 or 4 lights I wanted changed out and I thought no way. I was really horrified.
He did the work that he was supposed to do. I had actually assembled the chandelier and the fan so I had done some of the work for him but it didn't make any difference.
I would recommend them if it had to be for the quality of the work. He sort of picked up after himself. It would have been nice if he had asked for a broom and swept up but he didn't. The cost of it seemed to me to be so high I don't know how to review it.
He really did an excellent job. That wasn't the problem. The problem was he walked in the door without his notebook with the prices and I had to sign on the dotted line before he started. He had come a long way.
When I decided I wanted to make the appointment I called and called and called. It took me three days to get through to somebody.

  • Electrician was very professional and polite.  I purchased an hour of work when the tasks did not require an hour, he went through the house with me to find other small issues to fix.  He wanted me to get my full hours worth of time.  I will definitely use this company in the future.

  • n December of 2009, we purchased eight 12 foot Revolution
Pool Solar Panels from Fafco Solar in Cape Coral, Florida. Fafco Solar
installed the solar panels. The purpose of these panels was to heat our
    swimming pool.
In December of 2014, we noticed a stain on the ceiling of
our kitchen. We investigated immediately and determined that we had a leak in
our roof above the kitchen. We called Camp-Rigby Roofing Contractors the same
day the leak was discovered. They came shortly thereafter and repaired the
roof. Please see the attached invoice for $343.00. Camp-Rigby indicated that the reason for the damage was determined to be,
??Solar system not installed flat to roof & not sealed good??
In August of this year, I was
contacted by a representative of Sanibel Holiday (our property manager) and
told that she found a stain on the ceiling in our living/dining area. We called
Camp-Rigby Roofing Contractors and they came out, inspected the roof and found
several leaks in our roof. Again, these leaks were a direct result of improper
installation of the Solar Panels to our roof.  We have photos that show daylight around the fasteners that Fafco used to attach the solar panels to our roof. Camp-Rigby Roofing Contractors estimated the cost of roof repairs to be approximately
$2,000. I told Camp-Rigby that I wanted to have a representative from Fafco
Solar come and look at the roof damage before we had Camp-Rigby repair the
    damage.
Immediately thereafter, I contacted Fafco Solar and
explained our situation. The receptionist indicated that they would send a
technician out to look at our roof damage. I gave her the contact information
for Sanibel Holiday with instructions for the Fafco technician to contact them
when they planned to inspect the roof. The Fafco technician did not contact
Sanibel Holiday as instructed but simply showed up at our home. Our property
manager mentioned that she had stopped by our home early that afternoon and the
(single) technician was leaving our property. He mentioned to her that he had
re-sealed the areas where the water was leaking into our roof.
Thereafter, we authorized Camp-Rigby Roofing Contractors to
make the additional repairs. In addition to the repairs to our roof, we
required interior painting to repair the stain on the ceiling.
I never received a return call from Fafco regarding their
technician?s visit to our property, so I called them after about a week. During
this conversation, I was told by the receptionist that they were not
responsible for any of our damages (even though the Fafco technician re-sealed
the bolts that you could see daylight around). She went on to say that ?These
things happen in high wind areas?? I told her that if these solar panels cause
leaks when they are installed in high wind areas, then it would seem that they
shouldn?t be selling them to homeowners in Southwest Florida.   I
asked to speak with the manager or owner and she refused to connect me or
provide their name(s) so that I could contact him/her. After I continued to
press her for the contact information of her superior, she told me that she
would have the manager contact me.
Thereafter, I received a call from Troy Hayes, General
    Manager of Fafco Solar.
During this conversation, Mr. Hayes agreed to reimburse us
the cost of repairs to our roof, less the cost of their service call.  Several months passed and Fafco never provided
us with an invoice for their service call. When I received the paid receipt  from Camp-Rigby Roofing Contractors in the amount of $1,947.00, I promptly passed it along to Mr. Hayes at Fafco, with instructions for mailing the
    reimbursement payment to us.
Instead of payment to us as promised, we received a letter
from Mr. Hayes which included  an invoice
created and backdated to 8/11/2015 in the amount of $1,658.75. The invoice
claims that two men worked 8 hours at our home. Mr. Hayes then offered the remaining $288 in the form of a ?credit,?
rather than the "reimbursement" that was promised us. Why
would Fafco wait nearly 6 weeks (and until after we provided them with the
proof of payment to Camp-Rigby Roofing for the roof repairs) before showing us
their invoice? Our property manager stopped by our home as the one (and only)
Fafco technician was wrapping-up his work. It was mid-day. Indeed, it did not
take Fafco 16 man hours to install the entire solar system when it was first
    purchased.
We have correspondence from Mr. Hayes of Fafco provides the following admission from Mr. Hayes:
??Solar panels expand and contract on a daily basis causing them to sometimes ?walk?
themselves back and forth along the roof.  Due to this expansion and
contraction the panels sometimes shift and rub against the brackets
    occasionally causing leaks..."
As evidenced in Mr. Hayes statement, the solar panels sometimes cause leaks as they did in our case. He
obviously felt it was Fafco?s responsibility to repair the leaks, but not the
resulting damage. This is puzzling and in light of his earlier promise to
reimburse us the difference between our roof repair expenses and their service
    call, dishonest.  His statement also
references ?roof damage due to a long time leak?? While we did sustain some
minor roof damage in 2014 that we took upon ourselves to repair, the roof
damage that is the subject of this complaint was completely unrelated to the
2014 roof damage and we notified Fafco as soon as we became aware of these leaks.
To date, Fafco has refused to reimburse us for the damage to our roof. Ask yourself whether you want to do business with a group who will not stand behind the installation of the product they sell, despite admitting that their product sometimes causes roof leaks. I have never dealt with a business that promised something to me (reimbursement) and refused to deliver. I would NEVER do businesss with Fafco Solar again. nor would I recommend their services.

  • As a former Florida licensed general contractor, I appreciate professionalism and cooperation among subs. The workmen who came to my home were some of the most competent and professional craftsmen that I have ever experienced.
Their attitudes were both courteous and helpful. Very few subs are willing to take off their shoes to avoid soiling  the carpet. These gentlemen did.
They left our home clean and usable after each day's work, and planned their work to create minimum household disruption.
They finished the job within the time frame promised and for the exact price promised.
I certainly intend to use this company again, and I highly recommend them based on the above experience.

  • This is a classic case of delivering MORE than is promised.  We had a ceiling fan in the dining room but wanted tio replace it with a chadelier we found in a consignment shop.  It was a bit ornate with two down rods with 5 pieces each and a large oval fixture 18x36 inches with glass prisms.  We have a vaulted ceiling in the dining room AND we wanted to move the electrical box and cable about 8 inches so the chandelier would line up and be centered on the dining room table.  I was looking for an electrical company when I saw an Angie Deal from JerMar for 2 hours of electrical labor for $99.  Since thay were also highly rated on Angies List, I decided to give them a try.  I was called soon after i bought the deal and we scheduled for soon thereafter. Electrician Joe Kershaw arrived on time and ready to work.  He went up into the attic, surveyed the situation, then came down and went to work.  After consulting with my wife, he precisely located the position for the new electrical box and carefully cut out the hole in the ceiling drywall.  He then went up in the attic and installed a heavy duty brace with electrical box to ensure the chandelier was well supported.  He came down and when we went to install the chandelier, its down rods were too long so we had to actually dismantle the chadelier, remove excess parts of the down rods, and then reassemle the chandelier for hanging.  He then completed the job and made sure the fixture was oriented  exactly the way we wanted, then tightened it up, made sure it operated correctly, and advised us on the type of dimmer it would take if we wanted ti install one (we do but it's a special order to match the rest of the switches in the room)..  He then installed a nice cover plate on the old electrical box so it looks nice untill we get a permanent repair done when we remodel the kitchen next spring.  He was actually at the house for nearly 2 and a half hours, but there was no additional charge for the extra 20-25 minutes or for the cover. I previously had an electrician that I really liked but he retired and moved north, so I was looking for a new one.  I have found one in Joe Kershaw and JerMar Electric.  With a 45 year old house in need of updating that we just moved into last summer, I'm sure I will be calling often.  I should add that Joe was extremely personable, professional, and helpful throughout the process.

  • I loved them; they were wonderful. They were here twice. The two gentlemen who were here and the owner of the company were all very, very polite, had a nice appearance and were very neat. They cleaned up after they were done, worked quickly and did not rip me off. I could not believe how much one guy accomplished in three hours. They did the work in 6 hours.
    - Karen K.
  • They were kind, professional, always available to answer questions, precise in price,

clean, and I want anyone that needs a decent, honest electrical company to use this one

I urge you to make sure you call them for an estimate and meet them

I would not trade the Company, Carol & Mark Ramirez and their crew for anyone

  • He arrived when he said he would, remembered to call a few minutes before he arrived (so we could put our dogs in crates), cleaned up after his work each time, and made sure we had the documents that came with the fans.
