    Build America LLC
We could not provide the necessary amount of praise, respect nor the excellence experience we have had with Build America or the team of dedicated employees that would be due. They performed a complete condo remodel from kitchen, bath and interior with professionalism, quality and workmanship. Their dedication to detail and our needs went above and beyond our expectations more than we could have imagined. I could not recommend Build American more highly from our experience or expectations. I could not upload all of the pictures I wanted to, in order to show there abilities so I have provided a link for your review. [*** Link removed ***] Best regards, Alex

    Build America LLC
Unfortunately we had to replace all the plumbing lines in addition to the initial remodel. Qemal, our contractor with Build America, was professional and quickly added this to our contract. We were able to negotiate fairly with our the work order adjustments as the project progressed. The project turned out beautifully. Most importantly, Qemal's crew, seemed to be proud of their work and wanted to do a job well done.

    Tom Craig Remodeling And Building
DO NOT use this company. They are incompetent, negligent and deceitful. The initial meeting with owner Craig was filled with lies and led us to believes things that were untrue about the company ( that their trades were in-house and that they did background checks on employees, (an employee on our property was arrested for identity theft) and more lies about employees not smoking which was constant on the job site) which was a manipulation to get us into contract. Their unskilled and unsupervised workers made countless mistakes on our job and caused damage to our property. The owners are manipulative and discriminate against female homeowners blaming me for difficulties in our job, when Im the one who held this job together, found errors and gave directions, (all which took time away from my business where I work from a home studio) and the joke was that I should be getting paid by TC because of the countless amount of time I spent. We changed our design for bed/bath after I found a mis-measurement off by a foot. They use hand drawings and an ancient design program, so this layout change was too complicated for them and again they blamed me. We had 27 feet of water damage to our ceiling and walls in front entrance, dining room and kitchen during our renovation which I repaired, scraped, plastered and painted and they are now refusing to compensate us for those repairs or our 2 week displacement for after admitting it was all caused by their error and improper covering of the roof penetration. The construction of our front porch was not done to our agreed upon drawings and now they blame the age of our house, when it was again another error by an untrained and unsupervised worker who couldnt read plans. The owner Tom only came to collect money, and uses change orders to skew the costs, not to check on the proper construction on our job. There was no consistent project manager on site nor proper drawings to be followed so the workers had no guidance and the owner Tom took responsibility for the damage and poor construction done by his company in emails and now is refusing to give us compensation and is incapable of completing our job. They are also broke and rely totally on customers payments to pay for materials and use other people money to pay other jobs and rob Peter to pay Paul, totally in violation of contractor codes. They have over-drafted and unpaid debts to material suppliers and subcontractors that caused many delays and us having to supply materials after we had already paid the company as well as live with out electricity in a large portion of our living space for months. We are sick of dealing with this ineptness and had to hire another company for additional money to finish our job as this company showed over and over that they are unable to complete our job with any craftsmanship. They were absent for 3 months didnt have a plan to complete as we requested nor did they give us an invoice for what we supposedly owed them (even though Tom admitted to my husband that he owed us $ for damages) and then filed a lien on our property. We would have had no problem paying had the job gone well and will have to pay more to have it corrected and repaired. This job dragged on as most of the time there was one worker on site. My husband and I were very cooperative until it became apparent that this owner was unconcerned with the water damage at our property and the mess it created in our daily lives as well as him asking for payment when our electricity was off in half of our home and water damage creating mold. He is greedy and unreasonable and cares only about money and not the proper completion of the job nor customers. There are several legal suits in process and a cluster of jobs that went sideways, to which the homeowners have been in contact with each other and stories are the same across the board, countless errors and sloppy work, damage to property and overcharging. Their few decent employees quit after a short time because of their deceitful dealings with customers and gave to us personally, resignation letters stating so. They have no long term employees because of their terrible and corrupt business practices. They send new workers to sites to test them out on the job using peoples property carelessly and they sent criminals to our home after claiming to do background checks. We hope their license is taken away so they can not hurt any other customers. Dont be fooled. Do not use this company.

    Kelly Smoak Construction
Kelly Smoak and his wife Mary were referred to us by a realtor that we know. Best recommendation ever!! They are extremely professional, reliable and competent. They show up when they say they are going to show up from the beginning of a project until its end. They are extremely enjoyable to even just chat with during the renovations and Mary has fantastic design ideas herself! They give you details and updates at every stage of the project. They even provide you with an itemized quote at the very beginning of the project. The quote was fair, reasonable, and closely matched the final prices, with the only exception being changes we made later in the projects, with updated quotes made available prior to their work. While my husband was the primary point person during all of their work, it was so refreshing having Mary text me frequently to keep me in the loop and make sure we were all on the same page.

    HE Feldman & Son
Working with our architect out of Tampa, the home was a "down to the studs" renovation following a complete redesign of the layout and an additional 1000 SF. This massive renovation included building a new entrance / foyer, building an office with separate entrance, adding additional SF for a huge master on the main level, extending and adding a row of french doors across the entire back of the home, redesigning the upstairs to create a more functional 3 bedroom space with TV / rec area and on the first floor creating one level for all interior floors. This required new walls, new windows, all new electrical, plumbing, fixtures and finishes.

    Palm Builders Gulfcoast Inc
It took me 4 years to find the right contractor. I am glad I found Palm Builders. I added an upstairs, gameroom and master suite, they were completely in tune with details and the finished products are outstanding. I lived in the downstairs portion of the house while the renovations were being done. Also, I work from my home, they were sensitive to my schedule and STILL completed each renovation before completion date. They also completed within budget. NO SURPRISES at all. They were here every morning on time, cleaned up each evening before going home. NOT ONE PHONE CALL from me wondering where they were and if they were going to make it to work that day. Their attention to detail was impeccable. I will use them every single time. My home is beautiful, new upstairs, complete faade change and a gorgeous home. I recommend them highly.

    Under Construction Contractors
Considering the scope of the project everything went really well. When working with an existing house surprises are to be expected and we were pleased with Duans ability to think outside the box in providing suggestions for resolving challenges. We also appreciated the aesthetic approach to making the house into a home that we continue to enjoy without regrets nor wishing we had done something differently.

    Saylor's Masonry
Misrepresented himself as an experienced full time contractor. Not the case. He has another day job, he was not committed to my job. He immediately started complaining that it was underbid, although we met and reviewed the plans before beginning, he never rebid any changes. He paid himself from the draws and ran short to pay the subs to complete the job. He never accounted for over 3500.00 in money paid to him. The job is 2 months behind the estimated completion date. I am left to finish the job and pay the subs with the last draw that I withheld however it does not cover the cost and I have to make up the difference. Even his own masonry work was done very sloppy and inaccurate. I would not hire him again or recommend his services.

We would like to give special accolades to MayKan Builders & Remodelers, Inc. and specifically, Mitch Kanaan as the owner. We started a major project to add on an additional room (700 sq ft) with a full bath, storage room and a 300 sq ft outdoor kitchen. The project was complicated due to existing roof lines that had to be perfectly tied in to our current roof structure, vaulted ceilings in the addition and many other challenges. Mitch discussed our project with us and then provided a highly detailed quote outlining the entire scope and timing of the project. We were very impressed immediately with the quality and detail of his quote and the apparent organizational skills he exhibited. That initial assessment turned out to be true throughout the entire 4-5 month project. We were not disappointed; the craftsmen used were skilled and competent, the timing was almost right on schedule (despite the hurricane in St Pete), and Mitch seldom missed any detail. On a further positive note, we came in virtually right on the budget Mitch quoted the only variances were due to changes we made during the project. We can only very highly recommend Mitch for any of your renovation projects, be they large or small.

The project went smooth and fast. They met all timeline markers and was amazing. The project came out beautiful. Their quality exceeded my expectations. I am really happy and will definitely be calling them back for the future.
