"The man answering the phone was patronizing, irritable, non-responsive and rude -- "attitude" is not the word! When I asked if Dr.
" could examine me the next afternoon, he did not answer, but instead brusquely ordered me to call back the next day, only eventually explaining when I asked (NOT apologizing) that the computers were down. I then called back to ask the cost of the service I was considering scheduling. I asked, "What are Dr
's fees for an glass Rx exam, and for contact lenses?" Rather than reply, he fired off questions (my name [to check my file, he sad], my insurance, etc.). I asked why these were relevant to the answer: does she charge a different fee for returning patients vs. new ones, and/or different fee to insurance companies vs. to self-paying customers (like me)? Not answering that, he grudgingly said at one point (I believe) that the glasses Rx fee was $189. This compares to $45 for glasses exam for the opthamologist I see next month for medical eye exam - but didn't want to wait for him on the glasses. So, when I tried to clarify if indeed he was saying that this was the fee she would charge to prescribe glasses for a new, self-paying client like me, he threatened to hang up on me!! Perhaps Dr
's existing patients suffer this man's high-handed bullying, but certainly people like me who are not "patients" but "healthcare consumers" will not put up with him. She is very ill-served by this representative, as I told him before I hung up.

"The staff were friendly and helpful. Dr.
has a pleasant patient manner. He took the time to answer my questions. The frame selection included" a wide price range. When the glasses were received back, his office inspected them and found that the lab had damaged the frame. They sent them back and got the frames replaced. Also, when I went to pick them up, they told me they had inadvertently over-billed by $16 and they credited that back to my HSA. Overall, the service was courteous, helpful, honest, and trustworthy. I would definitely go back.

Optometry

Optometry relates to eye and vision defects. You should receive regular eye exams from a licensed eye doctor so he or she can treat problems quickly.

Absolutely you have rights to your own medical records. You may have to put it in writing and go through the offices records department. Call and ask to speak with the records department and ask their protocol.

Excellent overall. The optometrist was the most knowledgeable I've encountered in decades, and she clearly understands the eye, can track age-related degenerative diseases very well, and is conversant with the many issues I wanted to have addressed. The staff were knowledgeable as well, able to work through a range of options for glasses and lenses, and willing to call my insurance and AARP multiple times to ensure coverage. If you want the cheapest source for an eye exam and eyeglasses, this is not the place. It's probably 30% higher than some of the discount places, but it is thorough. The cost for eyeglasses is a bit high, so the savvy consumer can shop around, which I will probably do for my second pair. However, I can say without equivocation that this is the best resource I've found in years and i'm thrilled to have an eye doctor as well informed and able as

. I know that my eyes are in good hands, and at my age that means a great deal!

It went great, we had to schedule all four of our family members to come out. They were great about being flexible with schedules, and they've always done a great job. I would recommend them to anyone. The eye doctor is excellent. He actually talks to you during the exam to tell you what he's seeing and what he's not seeing, and we really appreciate his expertise.

I was in and out of the office within 20 minutes. I completed the initial paperwork and waited just a few minutes to see the doctor. I explained to him that my last two pairs of glasses were progressive lenses and that I did not adjust to them and wanted glasses with physical lines. I felt I needed traditional multi-focal lenses. At no time did he ask what I do for a living or how I used the readers that I had with me. I was using over the counter readers to read and use the computer, since I was unable to adjust to the previous progressive glasses. He completed the exam and I chose a pair of frames. The prescription was made for bifocals, so I thought that maybe the previous two exams (glasses) were wrong and since I was getting along with the readers, I didn't question his prescription.
When I picked up the glasses, they were adjusted and I asked how I was to see the computer. I was told I should be able to see the screen using the top portion of the lenses. I was able to see distance through the top and read small print using the bottom portion, but when I tried to view the computer screen, I was unable to see it properly. I had to continually switch between the old readers and the new bifocals which was causing eye strain and headaches. I called and let them know I was having problems with the glasses. They said they would resubmit to the insurance company and call me back. The insurance company denied making new lenses and the office stated that since I did not tell them I needed trifocals, this was my problem. I feel that letting the doctor know that I previously had progressive lenses and I wanted traditional multi-focal lenses he would know, or at least inquire about my needs. I was told this was my fault and if I wanted trifocals, I would have to pay for new lenses. Since the bifocals were not going to work, I paid to have proper lenses made. I can see with no problem with the trifocal lenses.
It seems to me that since he is the "expert", he should have either asked more questions to determine my needs or at least inquired as to why I had progressive lenses in the past. Since I am not the "expert" in the eye care field, I felt that I could trust his findings during my exam. If he had done his job properly, my insurance would have covered the proper lenses, but since they had just paid for bifocals, they would not pay for another pair of lenses to be made unless the entire transaction was reversed and started over. The office staff was not willing to do this.
While I now have glasses that allow me to see properly, I do not feel that I should have had to pay for the trifocal lenses. This was the doctor's error. If he had done his job, I would have had the proper lenses the first time.

Explained the situation to the doctor (that I had laser surgery) and needed her to complete MD MVA form. She was more than helpful, very efficient. The staff was excellent in scheduling the appointment, calling my insurance to determine what/how much was covered for services/eye glasses, and went the extra mile to help me choose glasses to my preference. They did not waste my time.

I would highly recommend this office because every employee I encountered was very professional and even more than that, very caring people. No matter what the need, they tried to accommodate. I have very small eyes, and had tried another Dr. for contact lens, but just gave up. Then someone told me about Dr.

Superb experience. Very pleasant and welcoming office environment. Not rushed. The doctor took plenty of time to explain everything clearly. Excellent office staff--helpful and friendly. The exam was thorough. I was very pleased with my new prescription for eyeglasses. I got one new pair of eyeglasses there as well as a couple additional sets of new lenses for glasses I already owned. They notified me promptly when everything arrived. Truly the best optometry practice I have ever visited. I plan to go there every year from now on. Really nice, competent, and dedicated people to work with.

I went in for a new prescription for reading and everyday progressive lenses. I was able to get an appointment the same day. The exam was thorough and she took her time during the exam and with me to be sure I got the best results.
I was impressed and would recommend her to others.
