    Northrup, Dr. Tod D.
So far, so good. The severity of my condition was not fully explained before surgery & I was not fully prepared for the length and amount of recovery & physical therapy needed. The surgery was done well, as far as I know.

It is difficult to get an appointment with Dr. Howard Epstein.  You will see his PA or an RN, but then they will say the patient needs to see Dr. Epstein, requiring another appointment and of cour$e another bill.

The first time I saw Dr. Epstein he did not even introduce himself to me.  I had ask his PA who he was.

My lab results were transposed indicating that I may have a more advanced cancer .  Based on the GROSSLY INCORRECT PSA score a saturation biopsy was performed under general anesthesia in the hospital. (Google it).

I received a letter in the mail two weeks later indicating that I had an appointment in another two weeks to find out the biopsy results, i.e. if I did have cancer.  That is unacceptable, so I called and advised that I would be in their lobby in 15 minutes and that I would see Dr. Epstein.  He met with me and this is when I discovered that the lab results that he was using to determine my treatment were incorrect.  He blamed it on an employee.  Sure.

He then told me he could operate on me for $30,000.  How direct. Then he started talking about football teams.  You can't make this stuff up.

On a previous visit I entered the lobby and needed to speak with the receptionist, but she was too busy having a "personal" conversation with her boyfriend on the phone and ignored me.

I left and found another Urologist in Jacksonville and never looked back.  This place is a train wreck.

Dr. Foody is a very nice guy and talented surgeon.  He is a retired USAF surgeon and former USN medic (corpsman) on the USS New Jersey, so he is a down to earth kind of guy.  He always makes me feel very comfortable and relaxed.  He works out of their St. Augustine office.

    I highly recommend.

I was assigned to one physician, but occasionally would see his PA or another physician if he wasn't available. I was misdiagnosed with diabetes and he tried to put me on medications. I declined. I went to see an endocrinologist who after much lab work said that I had never been a diabetic. His PA told me one day that I was having a heart attack (based on EKG) and he wanted to admit me to the hospital. I said no, and drove myself to a nearby cardiologist. He asked me who told me this, as my EKG was normal. He also ran other tests (stress, etc.). Nope, no heart attack, not then, not ever. Then another physician there prescribed a medication that shouldn't be given to certain age brackets. I had an allergic reaction and now I am disabled for life, even after three months of physical therapy. My current PCP told me that my now prior PCP at Flagler Family Medicine needs to go back to medical school. Dr. Linda Clonch who works there is an excellent physician, but she wasn't mine. I would give her all A grades.

Called at about 11 and went to answering message; however, one cannot leave a message with the answering service.  Called back - I believe during the 12 - 2:00Pm timeframe they don't answer the telephone - and they certainly didn't.  Went on the website and filled out the form requesting them to contact me - and stating the urgency - nothing.  Called the number again and this time spoke to the answering service people who were horribly rude!!

    My suggestions:

    1) answer the telephone

    2) answer your email

    3) get an answering machine as opposed or certainly in addition to the service

    4) get a new message service - probably are saving money with the one you are with; however, you are getting what you paid for.

NOTE: this office is quite a distance from my house and I was willing to travel there because the ratings; however, not really sure how they rated so well when one can get in the door!

Surgery successful, post op treatment great. Problem with billing stemmed from billing secondary carrier first for nearly a year; when correctly billed primary carrier rejected claims for timeliness. Eventually straightened out but not without great difficulty and great time lost interacting with Mayo billing.

We have used this doctor and medical office for quite some time. We did not feel like our concerns were taken serious by the doctor. Called the nurse for a prescription re-fill and she didn't get back or was busy and said she would get to it by the end of the day. On one visit a new doctor came in and didn't introduce herself and then proceeded to tell me I had diabetes, which I don't, after finally disagreeing with her several times, it was then that she realized she had the wrong chart. Very unprofessional.

    GI Associates Saint Augustine
They ask questions and then double checked by asking the questions again to make sure they got all the information correct. I had a colonoscopy and felt very comfortable for a very embarrassing procedure. Dr. Barlow and his staff made this go well and made me fell safe and comfortable. Called the next day to make sure I was doing well. I am highly recommending Gi Assocates especial Dr. Barlow !

    Mayo Clinic Primary Care
The doctor's excellent. They are a large and very technical health service. Everything is computerized that they can't produce the personal bedside manner. They have very high standards. They're not very good with availability. They're popular.
