Choosing A Castillo Cabinetry was a very expensive mistake. Jhonny installed the new granite about a month ago and left the faucet valves open when he disconnected the faucet. Because the work was sloppy and the undermount sink was not flush I tried calling several times in the following days to have it fixed. Only after threatening to stop payment in a voicemail was my call returned. Jhonny came by the day we were supposed to leave since this is not our permanent residence and said that he would fix the issues the next time we're in town. The issues included the half inch overlap for the sink cutout, cloudy spots that needed polishing, a crack in the granite, nothing for the dishwasher to attach to, and gobs of silicone seeping under the granite everywhere. One month later I returned to the home and found standing water under the kitchen cabinets due to Jhonny leaving the faucet valves open. Even though the water was off in the home it had leaked into two other rooms where mold had started to grow. When I called to ask for their insurance information they would not provide it and referred to their contract that they were not responsible for plumbing even though they disconnected the faucet for installation. This denial of responsibility is indefensible given that their negligence when removing the faucet caused significant water damage to my home. I've turned the issue over to my insurance company and will let them sort out the issue so now I need to have three newly renovated rooms treated for mold. Jhonny seems like a nice guy but the quality of his work is terrible. Every contractor that has seen the granite has said the quality of his work is terrible. He seems very rushed and not very focused. His assistant Stacy will be the nicest person until you have an issue with the work. Rather than try to resolve the issue she will deny responsibility. I have nothing to gain by writing this review other than protecting others in Tampa from going through what I'm going through. Make sure you get insurance information upfront from whoever you choose.
