    Happy Camper Doggy DayCamp
Have been using them for years. I used to work in St. Pete and take my dog there for daycare. They have always been great. Everything from dealing with my dog's special needs (medication, special diet), letting her play safely, etc... My dog literally is about to leap out of the car when I get close by, and runs straight back. Even though I no longer work in the area I still drive all the way out to St. Pete when I go out of town to board her. It's an extra 30-40 minute drive, but while I'm gone I know she is safe and taken care of. Having a place I can take her without having to worry about her while I'm on a trip is worth it.

    Happy Camper Doggy DayCamp
We just moved here from out of state last year and when we had to pull our dog from this daycare this week in an emergency situation, we were left not knowing where to turn (our dog needs to go somewhere 4-days per week). Our 7-year old mellow yellow lab had been attending Happy Camper in the Carillon area of Clearwater, FL for about 12-months. Inside that 12-months he was bit 3 times by 3 different aggressive dogs. In 21 years of dogs in daycare we have not experienced anything like the safety issues we have experienced at Happy Camper. The first time our dog was bit, we chalked it up to an accident. We were not happy that it happened and that our dog had a full jaw (i.e. multi-puncture wound) on his face nearly missing his eye, but we knew that accidents can happen at dog daycare. We handled it casually. The instigator of the bite, was the owners own dog a dog that is known to not do well with other dogs. When the second bite happened and our dog came home bloody (this time a deep lacerated puncture on his back), we had more questions. Still understanding that accidents can happen, we again gave the owner and her staff ample grace. Our biggest questions were: what happened (as no one knew!) and how would it be prevented going forward? The staff had to watch the video of the day back to figure out what happened because the dogs were not supervised. Naturally, when our dog came home bloody a third time and only four days after finishing his round of antibiotics for the second bite, we were upset and had (and still have) numerous questions about Happy Campers safety policies and practices. In our attempt to get our questions answered and discuss how Happy Camper keeps dogs safe at their facility, we reached out to the owner. When we didnt hear back from her, we tried her staff only to be told we had to talk with the owner. Finally, the owner said she would meet with us, then failed to respond when we tried to schedule a specific date and time. It was clear that we would not be allowed to see behind the curtain of Happy Camper and that we were asking too many questions for their comfort. Theres clearly a problem with safety at this facility. Weve refrained from assessing the causes of those safety problems without speaking with the owner. However, her demeanor towards us, dismissal of our concerns, and unwillingness to meet is as big a problem as the safety issues that she has. For safety, ethical, and character/integrity reasons, we will not allow our dog back into any of her facilities. Were still reeling from this stressful week and saddened that someone in the pet industry, who had our dog in her care, would and could act with so much disregard. The good news is that our mellow yellow lab is safe, healing well, and sleeping at my feet as I write this. Incidentally, when we requested recommendations for a new daycare on the Nextdoor website, our neighbors responded with some great options. Two daycare businesses were commonly mentioned by the community and Happy Camper was not one of them.

Alone At Home Pet Services Inc
As always, the sitter did a great job. When I arrived home, there was a journal of what happened on each visit. She would write down exactly what she did, how the cats were behaving (i.e., loving, moody, sickly, etc.), any issues/accidents. Each visit was approx 30-40 minutes. On this last engagement, I called from out of town to extend my stay an extra day & that was not a problem.

When I first started using this service years ago, the owner of the company (the sitter) came to my home to observe the cats & discuss any issues (medical, behavioral, habits). She has a vet tech background. I think I've had her services between 3-10 day periods. I am very comfortable knowing she cares about "my kids".

    Happy Camper Doggy DayCamp

This day care facility is for dogs, when I walked in, I could hardly hear the check in lady over the excessive din of barking.  I could not get over how loud the barking was.  Then I asked to see the "facilities"..... it was a small pen, about 11 feet by 8 or 10 feet.  About the size of a small bedroom.  That's it!  It was the small dog area.  There were already 10-15 dogs and I was there at 7 when they opened their doors.  Its such a small space for so many dogs, in my mind. The paint was peeling on the floor and it was just chain link fence.  There were one or two small beds, but no rugs or anything for the dogs to lay down on.  Not sure how long they would be expected to hold it before they were able to relieve themselves.   I know the dogs don't care that much about esthetics, but the small area was what really turned me off.

I have been to 4 other day camps in my old home town.  We are new to Florida and were looking for a new place to take the dogs once a week to get out of the house while I am at work. None of the other 4 day camps had excessive barking, a human was in the small and large dog area AT ALL TIMES to keep the dogs calm and stop any excessive barking.  YES DOGS WILL BARK AND THATS OK - but excessive barking at loud volumes by all dogs left unchecked is not healthy.  No less than two huge excessively poor mannered dogs jumped on me (while wearing a dress for work - thanks!).  I have never seen such ill behaved dogs or humans going in and out of day camp.  It was complete pandemonium.  The whole thing seemed very disorganized and I WONT be bringing my dogs there again.  There are so many other options in the area.  There was no human in the area to keep any eye on things.  LOOK AROUND FOR OTHER PROVIDERS.

Service is excellent and we are comfortable that our dogs are in good hands. Whether provided by Karen herself or one of her local assistants, we have been completely satisfied with their service which includes bringing in the mail, texting to confirm that visits have taken place. A surprise extra touch was leaving special treats at Christmas. The little touches really count.

    Lexi's Buddies & Pals

We have an elderly cat who requires medication twice a day. We were going out of the country for 9 days and wanted to find quality care for our cat without the stress of putting her in the kennel. Lexi came to our house a few weeks before our trip. She met our cat and we could tell right away that they were going to be good friends. Lexi took notes about what needed to be done when she was here and responded by email with a detailed contract of dates of service and pricing. So there were no surprises. We like that.

While we were gone, we sent Lexi an email to see how it was going and she wrote right back and assured us that everything was ok and included pictures of our cat. It really gave us peace of mind to know that our cat was being so well cared for.

When we returned home, our house was locked up tight, the mail was on the counter, and the cat was glad to see us and was happy. I don't think I could ask for a better pet sitter. I will be calling Lexi when I plan my next trip.

    MIDWAY ANIMAL HOSPITAL
Have been taking both of my Papillons to Midway for years. Buster and Rosebud are comfortable with the Doctors and staff. They have saved my dogs life a couple of times. One was when he was choking on a dog bone that I had given him in the office (Dr. Howell rushed out and pulled out the bone from his throat) and from stones that stopped Buster from urinating and he needed to have emergency surgery. Also he helped my Buster when he got cervical neck problems which Buster has completely recovered from with no residual problems. When Dr. Howell examines my dogs you can tell he is very knowledgeable. I also enjoy having the groomers located in the same facility. I give Midway an A for services rendered over a period of about 10 years for my two dogs

The service was very good. My dog loved going there as she was very excited when going there. Karen gives very good personal attention to the dogs. She takes them to the dog park and the dogs have access all of the time to the back yard. I would use her again. I had never used this type of service and I was very impressed. I checked around for prices and the cost seems very reasonable. The dogs get a lot more attention than being at a regular kennel. She has a TV in the room where the dogs are and she plays that for the dogs. She covers her furniture and lets them watch that as well. She even sent a video during the day.

    Lexi's Buddies & Pals
Lexi is AWESOME!  My three small girls, Sasha, Keisha and Misha (malti-poos), all took to her right away (and they are very picky).  She has taken care of my girls multiple times since moving to the area and I trust her without reservation to take as good or better care of my girls than I do/can myself.  The girls are always excited when she comes and happy when they come home.  Lexi is courteous, professional, prompt, and has a heart of gold.  She talks affectionately about her own pets as well as those she pet sits for as if they are her own.  It is such a blessing to have Lexi take care of my much loved girls on those times when I need to be away for work or an occasional getaway.
