    Dean installed approx 600sf composite deck over a new flat roof. Job was done quickly without any hiccups. A powder-coated aluminum railing was also ordered, and installed two weeks later upon completion from the fabricator. Very happy working with Dean, and would definitely recommend.

    The project started out well, did a good job building the shell of the pool and shooting the gunite. After that, everything declined. They hired a subcontractor to install a retaining wall, and the job was poor at best. Irregular, sloppy, and at risk for failing. They encased pipes in concrete that were not supposed to be encased. The decking was installed with such a steep slope, they had to redo it, and it is still unsatisfactory. The plumbing has to be reworked to accommodate the automatic vacuum and they still have not completed it. They have one-two reliable workers, but that is it. I was concerned with their reviews, but was assured by their sales contact that this had all changed, it hasn't. This is a company that operates on a shoe-string, does not assign a project manager to the site, and threatens the customer with legal action when you hold back a 5% final payment to ensure they finish their punch list. Spend your hard earned money with another company.

    Jimmy, the owner, was punctual and professional. He was meticulous painting our concrete pool deck. The cutting around our pool and the house was extremely straight and neat. The result was beautiful! Even the clean-up was neat when he was done.

    Results were mixed.  
    For the initial drywall work, my wife was in town to supervise.   Quality and responsiveness were good, so we hired him for the major renovation.  Unfortunately,  we couldn't be in town to oversee the work.   The quality was much worse and many punch list items haven't been addressed almost ten months after the project was "completed".  
    Re: the renovation, when we awarded the contract, we emphasized a deadline to complete the work in 2 months to coincide with when we would be back in the house.   When we arrived, the project was nowhere close to finished - no aircon, tile, painting etc.   Sam claimed the delay was because one of our plumbing fixtures was out of stock, and this delayed a key building inspector
    signoff.  We were at the house for a month, and relatively little work was done.   Sam would stop by for a few hours, and sometimes a subcontractor would be there, but when we departed, the renovation still wasn't finished.
    Despite not being able to be on site to review the work, we paid Sam in full.   Several months later when we finally returned to the house, we noticed significant issues and notified Sam.   The tile floor sagged in places and the grout was disintegrating.  
    One of the sliding glass door panels wouldn't fit, and the door wasn't level (he says the floor is the issue, but it is more level than the door), the electrical outlets weren't level or flush, the ceiling was cracked, one of the new windows was off kilter, the aircon fittings weren't caulked/foamed resulting in a leak that damaged our ceiling, plus there were lots of small finishing issues.  Interestingly, he installed the screens for just one of the sliding glass doors and left the other pair against the wall of the garage.  I attempted to install them, and Sam tried on a later visit; they didn't fit.
    Sam doesn't argue that there are issues, but he's been slow to respond.   Eventually, he reinstalled a few floor tiles, but it didn't address the sagging and the new grout quickly disintegrated.  Clearly, more reinforcement is needed beneath the tiles. Also, one of his crew spent a few hours over several days touching up the paint and ceiling.   We tried to contact him to pin down when he'll address the rest of the punch list (floor, sliding glass doors, electrical outlets, etc), but he is not returning our texts and emails.  We'll need to hire another contractor to finish the work, and we've been told that the entire floor may need to be torn up and replaced.  
    I think Sam is competent for deck work, but a renovation pushes his boundaries.

    As we said, this review is long overdue, but well deserved.
    For anyone who has to dealt with a disaster situation you will appreciate the support and integrity we received while working with Tisdale Construction. From the beginning we knew we wanted to rebuild and reopen. The problem were architectural drawings, permits, Citizen?s insurance, before we could even drive the first nail. And even before the first nail we had to deal with insurance and permits regarding demolition. We needed to move and we needed to move fast to get a roof on. Our building was in jeopardy of being destroyed further by rain, mold, and more government regulations.
    Tisdale Construction was referred to us a trusted electrician friend (retired NYC police officer). We met and spoke with Steve Tisdale of Tisdale Construction and then literally through a ?gentlemen?s handshake" with Steve we hired Tisdale Construction to manage our rebuilding project. We needed to get things moving now. The architectural drawings, permits, and insurance battle were unknown variables that we had to manage on the ?fly?. Steve Tisdale as an honest person, understood our dilemma and agreed over a handshake to get things moving. We had no formal contract or agreed upon price.
    Steve Tisdale along with his right hand person, Chris Dowd, did exactly as he shook on. Tisdale Construction brought Holiday Isles back to life, better than she was before. Tisdale Construction was there everyday, they managed the permits, help us deal with a bureaucratic Citizen?s Insurance, and got the job done. They went above and beyond just doing the job. They even helped in many of the final design ideas. As a business owner that has to deal with contractors regularly, never has any project gone as smoothly as this, and this project was 1000 times larger and more time critical (we were out of business, no revenue) than other yearly remodels or repairs.
    Although we would not recommend doing everything on the fly as we did. We can recommend Tisdale Construction for any project you may wish them to complete. We know you can trust Steve Tisdale and his company to do what they say and to be on your side when managing the project. Things may go wrong, schedules changed, but Tisdale Construction can be trusted that whatever happens they are on your side.
    We were 100% satisfied with our relationship, workmanship, fairness, cost and just for being there in a horrible disaster and walking us through it. Thanks from all of us at Holiday Isles Resort.

    They did an OK job as far as completing the repairs but we were somewhat surprised at being told that it would be an additional charge and cost to remove the "debris" that was created during the job such as the old doors, etc.  I would expect that to be part of the pricing that was given upfront and especially since waste management will haul away for free.I was also surprised at the lack of "customer service".  They really blew the business relationship at the end with  the whole collective attitude of everyone I spoke with.  I simply tried to pay my invoice with a credit card and just the way they informed me they didn't take credit cards left me wondering how many customers they "turn off" after doing a good job on the actual project work. I actually told this to Chris the owner (after he jumped on the phone asking me what the problem was) and he didnt seem to concerned so I guess my suggestion would be if you want a contractor that does an OK job but doesnt really care about how you feel about them personally or doesnt seem to show any appreciation for your busines then this is the company for you.  I would have expected a simple "sorry that you feel that way" or some attempt to make me feel better given all of the additional work we have upcoming.  I also made that clear up front before the first job that we wanted someone to do a good job as we had LOTS of work upcoming.  They must have more work then they can handle if you can afford to just lose opportunities for simple things like that. I agree with another poster that they do not seem interested in "small" jobs. I really was perplexed by the whole experience since it could have been a $10000 job instead of $500.I just had to pay another contractor to "finish" off the stucco etc around the doors that were replaced.  I am not sure of why you would take on "smaller" jobs if that isnt really where you want to spend the time.

    We were very pleased with the way that they dealt with us. We were pleased with their willingness to have conversations about any questions that we had. We were pleased with final outcome. Their workers were polite, friendly, and hardworking. After 3 months, there is a slight issue that needs to be fixed and they said that they are willing to work with us to fix the problem.

    The experience was very positive. We obtained estimates from six local firms. The estimate from Tri County Pools was in line with the others. Importantly, once the decision was made to go with travertine rather than pavers, the Tri County rep was the only one to provide alternatives as far as "looks" go and as pertaining to cost. The sales rep/site manager with whom we worked, Kevin Frid, was very professional, creative and prompt. All phone calls to him were returned within a couple hours, and he always arrived when he said he would. He is a major positive asset for the firm. Importantly, the job was completed within the estimated time frame.

    I got Sam Desmond's name off of Angie's List. We initially expected our local carpenter that we have used before to "win" the bid, but Sam's bid was lower, and he seemed to have more experience. Everything about the job went great. We are dealing with a condo, and Sam was occasionally asked to do something slightly different than the original bid (too many bosses...), but he cheerfully accommodated everyone. And when the job was finished, everyone was happy. Dealing with Sam is like being in the past. The guy that gives you the bid is the guy that does the job, his word is good, he shows up on time, finishes on time, and cares about his work.
