Fence Company reviews in Port Charlotte

    Zavala Fences Inc
Excellant, I could not have asked for a better job. The crew showed up in morning and by mid afternoon I had a beautiful white vinyl and chain link fence installed. The fence enclosed the back yard for the dogs and also provides privacy for the pool area. Zavala Fences Inc. was efficient, cost effective when compared to larger fence companies, responsive to questions and any in progress change requests. They also were friendly and we could not have asked for a better overall experience.

    Home Depot
They sent me three people out and gave me three estimates. I had damage from the hurricane, a little bit, and I just replaced the whole fence. They did very good. I'm very pleased with them. I've used them several times, for flooring and carpeting and whatever. Their quality, I'm not impressed with, so probably a C. I don't think their fencing was that great. He's kind of a handyman that does other things, so I did keep his card.

    Florida Fence
The fence looks great. They said it was 4-6 weeks to start but it was more like 10 weeks There were some issues at the end that we had them come back to fix. If I didn't have to leave the final day to take my dad to the hospital I could have maybe had it right before they left. They do have communication problems in their company so make sure you specify exactly what you want and have it written down. I do like the final outcome. We had a lot of fencing put in And the gates are very sturdy!

    Carter Fence Co
Carter Fence handled getting the building permit from the county, but I had to handle the permit required by the property owners' association. They arrived a day earlier than scheduled, and completed the work on time the next day. The quality of the workmanship was very good. The quality of the materials was as expected. There were no surprises.

    Fence Dynamics
Gino was the installer for Fency Dynamics for our fence purchased & arranged for through Lowe's. He was meticulous about the installation , on time, polite, and a very hard worker in unusually high temps for April. As we had a Freedom, American dog-eared fence to match existing fence on our property, the install was not just a snap together, but required installation of two sets of brackets on each side of each post which was labor intensive. He did a fantastic job. I would hire him in a heart beat. His caliber of workmanship is few and far between. I would highly recommend Gino in particular for any job.

    LOWE'S
It went very well. The installer, Gino, had not done this type before, but made a template, and got it going. It looks wonderful. Perfectly straight and exactly what we hoped for. The heat was unbearable for that heavy work. Don't know how he did it, but job well done!!

    Arrow Fence Systems Inc
It hasn't. This is the second time we have engaged this company because ultimately the work they did the first time was good. Unfortunately both times getting them to do the work involved similar circumstances. The Port Charlotte sales person did not return calls until a call was made to the regional office. This time after a couple calls we had an estimate done in April and called at the end of June beginning if July to set the work up. Finally after repeated calls and over half the cost down as a deposit my husband had to make repeated calls again to the regional office to get a date set because there were no follow up calls by Arrow. The day they were supposed to come my husband took time to come home, called the regional manager to find out when they would be here; he was told he had someone with him but he would call him right back. An hour later my husband called to cancel them coming told them he wanted to move the date till the end of Oct (we have things going on and when they didn't give a call back it changed things for us) and would like an e-mail with a confirmation date- that was 3 weeks ago and still hasn't happened. At this point we are going to be asking for our deposit back and engage a company that will call back and follow up. Very disappointed in this company's customer service.

    Handy Vets
We did, eventually, get the fence installed by  a licensed fencing contractor.  It was the cheapest estimate we had and it cost  nearly twice as much as the quote we had from Handy Vets.  Really, if he couldn't do the job, why did he add the stress of all those delays to moving?  If we had known in October, when we first contacted him, we could have had the fence by Thanksgiving, as we had planned.  As it was, we didn't get a fence in until the end of February.

    Handy Vets
Our initial contact with him was in October of 2015. After explaining what we wanted and our location as well as our timeline, he said he could do this simple job. We told him that we were currently living more than 1000 miles away from our new house, but would be down at the new house for Thanksgiving week. Once I had exact dates, we set an appointment for him to look at the lot. He came a bit earlier than the appointed time, took measurements and told us he would get an estimate to us within a couple of days. I reminded him then, and every subsequent time we spoke that the fence HAD to be in by January 15, 2016 or we could not move down with our dogs as we intended. In mid-December, he finally returned my many calls and let us know that he was upset with the Charlotte County Zoning office for all the hoops they were making him jump through to get a permit, but that he would continue to try and would get back to us within a few days. More than a week later, I called him and asked him to detail the problem so I could call the Zoning office and try to straighten it out. That was when he told me he wasn't licensed to do fencing in Charlotte County and that he was trying to find someone who was to pull the permit so he could do the work. He said he would text me the name and number of the guy and I could call him myself to explain our urgency. No text ever came. In the week after Christmas, my husband called Craig several times before finally speaking to him and Craig gave him the number of another guy who could do the work. We sent that person(someone we had called way back in October, who had never gotten back to us), sent him plot plans with the fence line drawn in. After another week, that guy gave us an estimate of $3,600. We postponed our move and came down for a visit at the end of January specifically to deal with the fence issue. Everyone we contacted has told us that, because of the tourist season, they are very busy and it will take six to eight weeks to get the job done. They wish we would have contacted them in November or December, because it would have been quicker. The extimates I got were all in the $2500 range, and two salesmen to whom I told my tale (without mentioning Craig's name) told me that what he was initially going to do with the permits is illegal and one even asked if the guy was Craig Ferguson. It's a shame because we really liked Craig, we liked the idea behind his company and we still think he is a nice man. If only he had told us up front that he is not allowed to do fencing in Charlotte County, we would have considered hiring him for some of the many jobs we will have on our fixer-upper.

    Johns Rescreening
Its literally like window screens but its an entire room built of screens to protect the pool from the lovely Florida bugs. There was a wreck in a section and they replaced that entire section. Two men came out and they were very quick. It took them probably half hour to 45 minutes. He's really reasonable. I think he's 20 dollars a section and he replaced six sections. We've used him in the past. He was out within a couple of days. It was a good experience.
