    Advance Contracting Services
Great! Ken Truffa explained what he needed to do, why and gave me a fair price. He suggested ways to save money too! He was there when he said he would be there. He told me what to expect time-wise. His assistant was also on time and pleasant. These gentlemen had to put up with my nosy, annoying pets.... including a very curious chicken who needs to be in on all the action in "her" domain. Ken was very pleasant, professional and polite. I would hire him again in a minute! I'll be calling him again I'm sure.

    Todd Thomas Home Improvements Inc
Todd came out right away and discussed the job and options and was very quick with getting back to us with an estimate. Everything went smoothly and final cost was as quoted. Windows look like they have always been there. Brian did a wonderful job, was very professional and answered all of our questions and concerns.

Carrie's Fence of Palm Bay Inc
This is a belated review, but one that I've wanted to take the time to submit for a while. If you read nothing else, know that Tim Clary and Carrie's Fence deserve a call for your next fence installation. They are true professionals. 1. The installation and quality of materials (lumber and stainless steel hardware) were TOP NOTCH. While some of our neighbors suffered the unfortunate loss of blown over sections during Hurricane Matthew (which hit the Cape with winds over 100mph), our "Carrie's Fence" withstood the onslaught perfectly, with zero damage. 2. Responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism were also FIRST CLASS. Tim Clary even recommended an outstanding landscape crew to remove nearly 100 feet of hedge (at an excellent price), and seamlessly coordinated all efforts with the landscape crew so that the hedge was removed, the fence was installed, yard clean-up was spotless, and sod was laid all within a matter of days. Tim and the people he has working with him are TRUE PROFESSIONALS. 3. All of the coordination was accomplished by Tim Clary of Carrie's Fence while I was out of town! I was a bit nervous about having this work accomplished while I was away, but Tim reassured me that it would be fine. In this day and age, it was refreshing to actually have those words ring 100% true. Even my neighbors were impressed with the speed and quality of the work. 4. Carrie's Fence price was reasonable. Tim also offered the option of vinyl fencing for an excellent price that was difficult to pass up, but I went with the natural look of wood (even though the price of the maintenance-free vinyl was difficult to pass up). In conclusion, I'll reiterate that Tim Clary and Carrie's Fence were worth every penny, and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

    Barton Professional Painting
Mr. Barton and his associate did an excellent job. Mr. Barton was on time, very professional and provided a reasonable quote to complete the work. The soffit repair was in a very difficult location and the repairs were outstanding. Additionally, the exterior painting was meticulous and I would use Mr. Barton's services again without hesitation. I highly recommend his services.

S & A Power Washing of Brevard LLC
We noticed Steve doing some work for a neighbor and asked him for a quote to clean our driveway, sidewalk along house, an concrete area around pool. All of these areas were quite stained. He gave us a reasonable sounding quote and so we agreed. He came back one morning and was done by noon. He did excellent work. This was over a month ago, and everything still looks amazing. While he was here we talked with him about sealing our new deck. We are not very handy people and wanted to make sure it was done right. He took the name of the product and said he would check into it. He got back to us with a quote which was not much more than the cost of the product that the people who installed the deck recommended. We agreed. He said he would be in touch when he got the product. About a month later he called, and was out within the week. He did an amazing job, and the deck looks great. Steve was always good about returning our calls and keeping in contact with us. Would definitely use him again.

    Viking Fence & Deck
We love the new deck and fence that they put in. The company seems to be divided into a fence division and a deck division so I will address each group separately.
First of all, the deck guys were great. We dealt with Rick for the deck. He was great to deal with. He gave us our estimate, and kept in touch with us up until the install date when he came out with 2 other guys to tear out our old deck and put the new one in. He told us it would take 2-3 days, and it took about 2 and a half days, They seemed to do it in stages. They removed all of the old deck first. Then they lay the support for the new deck. Finally they lay the deck pieces. It looks beautiful. When they were finished Rick gave us information on how to take care of the deck. The guys were very professional and easy to deal with.
After the deck was put in, we had a section of our fence replaced that had been falling apart for the last couple years. We dealt with Dana to get an estimate. I cannot remember the name of the guys who came out to do the work, but they were great. Viking worked with us to move the gate from the front of the yard to behind the front door. The new fence looks amazing and we are very proud of it. It changes the way the way the front of the house looks.
I only have one complaint about working with Viking. We found the lack of communication on the Fence side frustrating. It seemed like we always had to call to find out what was going on. I would still recommend this company to friends and family, but I would make sure that they are prepared for possible communication issues.
Overall, I love walking out onto the new deck. It makes the backyard a wonderful place again. I also love pulling up to my house and seeing not only the beautiful new fence, but more of the front of the house instead of just a gate.

    Advance Contracting Services

Ken is a very experienced professional.  I had already done considerable research about my projects, including estimates from other contractors, and especially in the case of the hollow block repair, investigating the root problem and various methods of repair.

When ken came to assess the work, he immediately knew what needed to be done, outlined a timeline for the repairs, and made suggestions that made the work better and less costly.  I knew immediately that I wanted him to do my work, and that was even before I got his final estimate of cost, which was well below what I expected for these projects.

During the course of the job, Ken did the work of a masonry contractor, did framing, drywall, and prep for paint, because I wanted to do the painting myself.  Quality of all work was top notch.  I think he has a special talent for the drywall and paint.

Ken did a fantastic job in every respect, and was especially impressive in his promptness, and especially in his workplace cleanliness.  He planned all of his work in a manner to least disturb the living situation at the house, and left everything clean at the end of each day.

I would, and will, ask Ken to work for me in the future, and do not hesitate to recommend him to anyone I know needing an all around professional general contractor.

Did I mention that he's a really friendly guy too?

    Keenan Painting

I was referred to Greg by neighbors. They had good words about his work. Greg, the owner; personally came by to give an estimate. Within a few minutes he was able to give a final written estimate. He responded to my emails quickly and we set a date for work to begin.

Painters showed up on time and began work right away. I asked for the painters to remove a towel bar and refinish the wall. The final finish was excellent, I could not tell where the towel bar had been. Super work!

    Sprouse Services
Sean was very prompt in contacting us to set up a date for the services.  The service was scheduled for Wed.  On Mon evening we emailed him a list of the items we would like done.  The list included replacing exterior lights with motion detection lights, replace 2 existing ceiling fans, replace an existing kitchen faucet, replace an interior door, and several other items.
Sean started with the replacing of the exterior lights.  That went fine.  He spent around 5 hours working on the replacement of the kitchen faucet.  When he left we still had water spraying out from several places under the sink.  The sink was not leaking prior to Sean's work. We will now have to hire another provider to finish the job correctly.  Sean explained to me that one of the pieces was old, but that piece connected the drain to the pipe.  Right now it is completely disconnected from the drain.  We are not sure why it was taken off in the course of replacing the faucet.  The faucet lines are now spraying water all over as well. The faucet and seal does not line up either.
Sean removed a ceiling fan like requested.  He then informed me that he doesn't do extensive electrical work and the replacement fan had a remote and many more wires and he couldn't do it.   We had him put the old fan that he had just taken back down up.  We didn't even have him try to do the other fan.
Sean did replace the interior door, but it was done very poorly.  The brackets were not installed at the correct location in the door frame. The replacement door was new and will likely need to be replaced as the brackets were put on poorly.
Sean's skills were not that of a skilled handyman.  He might be fine at pressure washing, debris removal, etc but we cannot recommend him as a handyman.  We will now have to hire someone else to correct his errors.  We wish he would have informed us when we sent him the list that he could not install fans and that these tasks were not things he was capable of doing. Sean did work very hard but didn't have the skills required.  In his frustration a few "choice" words were also heard from Sean under his breath.
After 8 hours (9 actually as he stayed trying to fix the faucet) of skilled handyman services we do have 4 exterior motion lights that appear to be working fine, a kitchen sink that cannot be used as water is spraying out from multiple places, a damaged new door that looks unprofessionally installed, and a ceiling fan that was taken down and put back up. We will need to hire another professional to fix Sean's work.

UPDATE in response to provider's response:

We never thought you were a plumber or an electrician.  We emailed you a list of things to be done that included replacing the ceiling fans and the sink faucet.  You never indicated you would not be able to do these items until after you began the tasks.    During the sink faucet replacement you never stated a plumber was needed nor offered to bring one out as you stated.  Your reply here is the first you offered this to us.  On the day of service you did offer to do additional jobs for us in the future at a discounted rate to compensate for the problems that day.  If you had offered to bring a plumber out and pay for it we certainly would have taken you up on it as we had to pay for one ourselves to fix the incomplete faucet replacement work.  We insisted on you doing the plumbing as after you started the job the sink was leaking and spraying water under the cabinet.  It was not doing this prior to your work and we couldn't leave it like this.  We had a fully function kitchen sink prior to your work.  When you left the sink was unusable.  We did finally tell you to give up after several hours.   We told YOU we would have to have a plumber out to fix it now.  The sink lines had been inspected and some replaced as they were old (although not leaking) by a plumber in March of 2014 when we purchased the home.  We also had a full home inspection in March of 2014 and no active leaks were found at the sink. There were no leaks prior to your work.   The sink collar did need to be replaced by the plumber as it would not screw back on.  So that piece was stripped but it was connected and functioning fine when you arrived. In changing out the faucet removal of the sink collar was not needed.

We have requested a refund from Sean but he has refused.  He did offer to have a plumber come out at his expensive but we have already paid a plumber to fix it.

    The Final Coat Inc
It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went very fine. There were additional charges but I didn't feel like I got ripped off because the scope of what I needed to do in the outdoor garage was more than they could do in the time allotted. After they finished the work with the big deal, I hired them to finish up something else. When the gentleman was trying to figure out what to do with the badly peeling garage interior, he had some ideas and I felt pretty confident in what he was saying. He also checked with someone else with even more experience than he had. I liked the fact that he took the time to check with someone else to get other ideas. He wanted me to be happy so he checked with somebody else.
